My mum had been placed in respite care & was then taken into hospital. On discharge we had to find Nursing Care & we couldn't be happier with Blandford Grange. Their care, support & attention is brilliant. When I saw my mum recently I asked her if she was happy there & she said yes she's very happy, she said she's very lucky. As her children who don't live locally we couldn't ask for more

Visited my great aunt for the first time since she moved in and I can't believe the difference in her, this home has done wonders. She has put on weight so the food is amazing. The care is splendid and she looked like a new woman thank you to all at Blandford Grange - wonderful.

We have been incredibly grateful to Blandford Grange Care home for the exceptional care our uncle has received. From the very beginning, every member of staff has been warm, welcoming, and genuinely compassionate, creating an environment where both our Uncle and us as a family feel supported and valued.

The level of care provided has been brilliant - it's clear that the staff take the time to understand each resident as an individual, and this personal approach has made such a difference to our uncle's happiness and wellbeing. Knowing he is in such attentive and capable hands gives us great peace of mind.

Food has been varied and plentiful and the activities have kept him stimulated. (He has enjoyed the music and singers coming in!)

His room is big and we are able to bring in personal belongings to make it feel like his home.

We have visited at different times throughout the day /evening and we always have had a positive experience.

Highly recommended! Thank you to you all!

Reply from Rachel Smith-Harrison, Home Manager at Blandford Grange Care Home

I think the carers are under too much pressure & are unable to care for the residents as they feel they should, especially during the day. I feel that there should be at least 2 more carers per floor.

The existing staff are good, but are doing 12 hour shifts & could benefit from extra carers, especially at week-ends.

Dad was transferred from hospital at short notice, he was in a very poor state of health, mentally and physically.
The staff at Blandford Grange could not have been more welcoming and their care of Dad has been examplary. He is now alert and fairly active for a 92 year old and always looks smartly turned out.

Any problems are always brought to my attention quite promptly.

All staff are very welcoming. Always keep me uptodate with my fathers condition. Careplan is regularly reviewed. I visit most days and I am always welcomed with a cup of coffee and cake/biscuit. The care/nursing staff are very good with my father who can be agitated at times. Medication is also regularly reviewed.

Overall everybody is brilliant and very helpful. Would recommend to others.

I moved my Grandma to the grange a week ago and the family are incredible. From the carers to the office staff. Donna & Lauren in the office have gone above and beyond with helping me navigate everything from paperwork to settling my grandma into the home. I can't fault it one bit. If you want your family member to be safe, secure and supported then definitely go to the grange.

My mother was looked after so well during the 1.5 years she was with you, until she sadly passed away. The staff, from management, to nurses and carers were all wonderfully attentive and caring up until the last.

I can highly recommend The Blandford Grange

My mum received appalling care at Blandford Grange during her 5 week stay in the last weeks of her life. I cannot urge other relatives to avoid this home enough. She was not treated with respect or dignity and her care was unsafe. Her medications were not managed correctly and she was left in risky situations. It breaks my heart that she suffered more than she needed to at this vulnerable time in her life. We launched complaints but their record keeping is so poor that investigation is almost impossible. I am just glad that we were able to get her moved to a better place to die where the managers and staff were professional and compassionate. The home she moved to even raised a safeguarding complaint as her transfer to them had been dangerously managed by Blandford Grange. The home is systemically poorly run with a culture that would take a complete overhaul to change. I am mistrustful of other reviews on this site - they bear no resemblance to an our experience

Highly recommend Blandford Grange. From day 1, Mum received the best nursing care, sadly she was only there for 2 weeks before she died peacefully. We quickly felt part of her care and known by nurses/carers and made welcome. Very friendly place. Thank you.

My wife, Janet, had to move here from another care-home about 4 weeks ago. She was pleased with the room they gave her and with the staffs general acceptance of her and their willingness to make her happy and welcome. A meal was waiting for her and we have found it all of good standard. I am glad we have made the move.

My father came to the Grange Dec 13th 2024. Dad collapsed Saturday morning and passed Sunday in the hospital. Can I just say the care and compassion shown to my father was amazing, and to myself. To all the carers in the home thank you for just being patient, listening, attention to detail and love. This home maybe social funded but the care is 100%. My father had vascular dementia and many challenges occurred. I was always informed of any changes and asked if there was anything they could change to make his care better. 100% recommend this care home. Staff are amazing. Thank you with all my heart xxx

The care superb, friendly, professional + kind. Dignity was maintained at all times. Medical attention + medication management was excellent. When needed, outside specialist advice was sought + implemented speedily. I could not fault the staff who were upbeat, kind, caring + professional. Altogether a very good experience.

My husband has been in Blandford Grange Care Home, approaching 4 years now. I have found the staff very friendly, caring and cooperative. They are all very kind to the residents and treat them with respect. Always ready to assist when asked. The entertainment is great and the residents enjoy. There have been changes in management which has been a little stressful as the maintenance of the home and grounds has suffered somewhat. But we now have a new manager so hopefully this will be good.

The staff make the care home a safe and caring home from home. My mum has had some difficulty with understanding some of the overseas staff initially but is fine now. She enjoys the wonderful cooked food and homemade cakes. I feel safe in the knowledge that she is cared for, the staff are engaging and friendly and I always enjoy my visits. I do feel however, there would be a benefit in having one more member of staff to cover when other staff members are occupied in rooms.
