Dad seems to have settled in fairly well. When he has bad days he is treated with kindness, the same as his good days, the 1-1 are always pleasant with him and understand when he is being difficult. Before Dad started with dementia, he was the kindest, generous man you could wish to meet, so us as his
family, find it difficult to see him like this, but the staff are caring towards us also.

My dad was taken to Alma Court in October 2017 and passed away in April 2018. His care was above and beyond and I cannot praise the staff enough. How the carers deal with residents is amazing, such dedication and everyone is treated like family. Highly recommend Alma Court.

Since my father was moved to Alma Court in 2016, he has been looked after extremely well and this has manifested itself in his improved wellbeing and demeanour.
We were so pleased when he was accepted for Alma Court, the facilities and care are far in excess of where he was before.

My father has not been here long but from what I have seen he is clean shaven, more relaxed and has one to one care which I think is brilliant. Carers are lovely and always chat and make me feel welcome when I come to visit.
Dad seems happier and less stressed.

My father suffers from Vascular Dementia and since being at Alma Court he appears settled and happy. The staff are amazing and treat him with dignity and respect. His room is always spotless the cleaning staff are also very friendly, helpful and understanding. I cannot fault Alma Court and knowing dad
is being looked after so well is a great comfort to my mother and the rest of our family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alma Court.

Although I brought my wife into Alma Court in unusual circumstances, we were both comforted and made to feel welcome, firstly in the office by the staff there, and later in the kitchen (we were both given breakfast). In next to no time, I felt as comfortable as can be and because we have been together
for over 54 years I'd like to feel that my wife would feel the same. I've been away myself for a few days, and I wouldn't feel right doing that if I knew she wasn't cared for.

The staff are always helpful and cheerful with regular updates being provided. My mother seems to have settled in well and the garden is always accessible and day trips out being a weekly occurrence, unlike some other homes. The decor could do with updating but the level of care more than makes up
for it.

I can't praise this care home enough. My Mom is in the Rose Unit. All of the staff are excellent and they cannot do enough for you whenever you visit from the time you enter until you leave, all staff are so friendly. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent, my Mom is eating again.
I feel that my Mom is having the best care and is being loved when family and friends are not there. All of our friends who visit Mom say it's the best care home they have been to, the activities are brilliant. All of the staff make this place what it is. Outstanding!

So lovely to see that mum had put weight on and is looking much better. The warm, clean and supportive environment is wonderful for her.
Thank you also for the Christmas cards you sent out. Whilst they were lovely its a shame the money was not spent on the residents.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.406)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.406) out of 10 for Alma Court Dementia Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.533 for Alma Court Dementia Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (37 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.533
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.873 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Alma Court Dementia Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.373
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
