Every time I visit my mum, all staff and management are extremely helpful and friendly. If I ask any member of staff to help or get me anything for my mum, they do it straight away and answer any questions I have, or they find out the answers for me.

My mother moved into Lightbowne Hall at the end of May. It was the hardest decision I have ever made. My mam has dementia and was unable to care for herself.
Six weeks in my mam is a different person. The care she receives is wonderful, the staff care about the person and their happiness not just the
physical care. Every time I visit my mam is smiling and happy. There are activities, my mam gets involved in most of them.
They decorated her room, we bought the wallpaper. It is now truly her home.
If anyone finds themselves in the same position, I would strongly recommend Lightbowne Hall.

Due to the closure of previous care home, my sister moved to Lightbowne Hall. I visit regularly at various times and have always found her clean, tidy and well-dressed. Can't praise the staff enough! I have been contacted immediately if there have been any issues and I know I can speak to them likewise.
Her son lives in London and on each visit has returned home reassured his mum is getting the best possible care. Wished we moved her a year ago.

My mum receives the most amazing care and support at Lightbowne Hall.
The staff treat her with the upmost dignity and like she is a member of their family.
I was very apprehensive about my mum living in 24-hour care but I needn't have worried.
She is in the best possible place.

I cannot visit my sister very often as I live 150 miles away, but I phone her regularly. I cannot praise the staff enough when I call, as they are so friendly and kind, and they bring her to the phone every time. I can hear them speaking to her, explaining who I am and helping her to sit nearer to the
phone. I know they must be busy, but it's never any trouble to fetch her so that we can have a chat. Well done, all those on the first floor.

I visit my sister once a week, and I always find her happy. The staff are amazing; they handle residents with the utmost care. I particularly enjoy the activities they provide for the residents. To me, they fulfil the need of most of the residents with outside activities, i.e. visits to the parks, canal
rides, gardening, shopping and seaside visits. Getting out of those walls makes my sister less stressed. She has always enjoyed "going out".
My only grip is the bedding; it needs renewing to make the room more pleasant. It is clean and tidy, but let one but the mix match coverings. I am so pleased she is in your care.

Lightbowne Hall in my experience is warm and welcoming, the staff are very friendly and caring. My dad has been there nearly a year now and sometimes he has been difficult but the ladies/gents have all met my dad's needs. They have trips out, days to the park/Blackpool and even boat trips are due next
month. Nothing is too much trouble.

My mum has been in the home for about 5 years. The home has always treated my mum really well. The manager is really nice and helpful and is good at her job. Most of the staff are good with my mum and some go the extra mile to help. Two members of staff, in particular, I can't speak highly enough of,
they are fantastic at their job, really good with residents and my mum. A big thank you to you both.

My mum is very happy since moving into Lightbrowne Hall. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful and obviously care a lot about the resident's welfare. The rooms are excellent and the communal areas are very spacious and open. There is a good choice of food and activities. The pub and
the tea room are regularly used. The home is always very clean. My mum has been in numerous homes over the last few years and I would highly recommend Lightbowne Hall to anyone with a loved with who needs full-time care.

Lightbowne Hall provides a safe secure and family environment for its residents. Although the needs of each individual resident differ no one is excluded from events and occurrences within and outside of the home. I am very much assured by what I see that my relative receives excellent care and attention.
I have never been in a care home as well run as staff as this one.

Very caring staff, welcoming for visitors. Residents are always clean and content. If we have any issues they have been resolved immediately. No complaints about how the home is organised. Whatever time of the day we visit we have always found the staff interacting with my mother-in-law which is important
to us as she suffers with dementia. We feel the care home meets her needs and ours!

When my dad was moved to Lightbowne Hall he looked relaxed straight away. I found that the warmth was in abundance from all of the staff who work there. The help that was rendered to dad was like they were looking after a member of their own family. Emotion was not held back when looking after my dad's
best interest and he was blessed to have them in his corner. I would highly recommend Lightbown Hall to anyone who were or have a relative that requires help to trust them and put them in safe hands.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.718)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.718) out of 10 for Lightbowne Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.718 for Lightbowne Hall is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 287 Ratings = 4.718
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lightbowne Hall is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
