Anchor's Lightbowne Hall is located at the centre of the Moston community in Manchester. The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 52 residents in single en suite rooms.

Lightbowne Hall is proud to have achieved silver Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation to be able to provide tailored support for veterans.

The home provides comfortable and modern accommodation and benefits from private secure gardens. Residents have the benefit of a pub area to enjoy with others in the home.

It was so hard to see Mum go into a home, albeit initially only for an assessment, as it was something I never ever thought I would do.
The staff are fantastic with Mum and nothing is too much trouble. I phone every day (sometimes twice!) which, seeing how busy they are, could be seen as an unwanted
interruption, but no, they are always so nice and they always know exactly what has been going on with Mum in the day.
Mum had a fall recently which they dealt with professionally but sympathetically. I dread to think what would have happened had she been at home on her own.
Don't get me wrong it's not been easy and there have been tears but I know she is being cared for by some truly wonderful people.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My mum has been at Lightbowne Hall for about 10 months, I can’t fault the help and support that has been provided to both my mum and to us as a family in that time, the staff who look after Mum are always caring and kind, with unlimited patience.
The management and admin staff are always available
to help with any queries or concerns we may have, it’s never easy to have to put a loved one into care, the management and staff at Lightbowne have made a very difficult time easier. I can’t imagine how the staff are dealing with the difficulties brought about by the Covid pandemic, but mum is happy, and the staff always go the extra mile.

Staff are pleasant. The care home is always clean and tidy. my mum is always clean and looked after. I have not seen my mum for 3 months due to the Covid virus, but as far as I know there have been no cases at the home, which says everything about the quality of care and hygiene. I have seen my mum
today for the first time and she was well presented and fine.

Excellent care home. I have ticked excellent for 'activities' although I appreciate in these difficult times activities have been severely curtailed. I must stress that my family appreciate the extra effort made to care for my mother and other residents in these very trying circumstances. We feel that
no more could have been done to provide support.

As with any specialised organisation, especially with care, it is very critical to get the correct way of working. I can justify this with past no so good experiences as staff come and go. But, overall issues have become much much better. The staff does work extremely hard and carry out duties and roles
to the best of their ability.

Although Lightbowne Hall is not the worst care home out there, there is definitely room for improvement. Standard of care depends on who is on duty. Some very good, others lazy. Certain team leaders are not approachable and don't respond quick enough to concerns. Communication between staff and family
very poor. The laundry needs to do better. Clothes always come back rolled in a ball, screwed up and often damp. Activities are near non-existent with no activities coordinator in place. Overall the home could be better led and again the current manager in place doesn't come across as approachable.

My aunt sadly passed away in February 2020. Her passing was not an easy one but I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the way in which the care staff looked after her, they treated her with kindness and humanity and did everything within their power to preserve her dignity in difficult circumstances,
for which I will be forever grateful. Prior to this, my aunt had been a resident for approximately two years, suffering from Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia she was no longer able to look after herself in the community. My aunt was always treated with compassion and kindness . Thank You.

Dad has been happy and well cared for, for over 3 years now in Lightbowne Hall. The staff are wonderful and treat residents with dignity and love. I love coming into the home on visits and to occasionally help out where I can.

The care is good and even better now more staff are available.
I have had issues in the past but were sorted. Some days I have complained and the manager has made sure he gets it all sorted.
Overall I can relax knowing my father is well cared for. (Dad is on palliative care)

My mum moved to Lightbowne Hall in March 2018, as you can imagine it is a traumatic time for her and her family and knowing that she will be cared for well is important. The manager and the carers couldn't have been more helpful, they made mum very welcome and reassured us that she would be fine. Mum
loves her new room and joins in all the activities, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time, she has new friends and loves all the staff.
As her family and after many years of always being on alert for something to happen Lightbowne Hall has been a godsend. Having my first full nights sleep without waking up and checking my phone in case there had been a problem is amazing.

My mother moved into Lightbowne Hall just over two weeks ago.
Very happy with everything at the home. I feel that my mother is safe and secure. Her care needs are met to a very high standard.
My mother is enjoying having her meals cooked for her and she is overwhelmed by the choice and presentation
of the food cooked for her. The staff are brilliant and give the residents dignity and respect, they are very happy and always reassure me. This is really home from home and we, as a family, feel we have no worries at all.
The manager is very approachable and genuinely cares and is always around to discuss anything, the office door is open at all times.

My Mother in law was admitted to Lightbowne Hall in 2014. She was happy, content and most of all, treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The family felt she was safe and secure. The staff are polite, welcoming and very caring.


My Mother in law suddenly passed away in hospital. The staff and

management have shown myself and the whole family love and support and even since her passing in March, we still visit the home and often call into the café on the first floor for a cup of tea. As a family, we are very grateful for care and support given.

My mother-in-law stayed in Lightbowne Hall for respite and she received excellent care. The staff were fantastic; they looked after her with great patience, understanding, and kindness. Their compassionate approach alleviated my mother-in-law’s anxiety, ensured that she was safe and provided us with
peace of mind that she was being very well cared for during the respite period.
The care home was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very welcoming. I have no hesitation in recommending Lightbowne Hall and hope that my mother-in-law will be able to receive respite care there in the future.

My mother has been in Lightbowne Hall, Moston for five years. She has been poorly many times and on return to the home she has been given all the care and attention for all of her needs.
The staff go above and beyond.
The manager is always willing to help not just my Mam but also all of the family.
Her door is always open to ask any questions and there is always an answer.
