The care is good and even better now more staff are available.
I have had issues in the past but were sorted. Some days I have complained and the manager has made sure he gets it all sorted.
Overall I can relax knowing my father is well cared for. (Dad is on palliative care)

My mum moved to Lightbowne Hall in March 2018, as you can imagine it is a traumatic time for her and her family and knowing that she will be cared for well is important. The manager and the carers couldn't have been more helpful, they made mum very welcome and reassured us that she would be fine. Mum
loves her new room and joins in all the activities, I haven't seen her this happy in a long time, she has new friends and loves all the staff.
As her family and after many years of always being on alert for something to happen Lightbowne Hall has been a godsend. Having my first full nights sleep without waking up and checking my phone in case there had been a problem is amazing.

My mother moved into Lightbowne Hall just over two weeks ago.
Very happy with everything at the home. I feel that my mother is safe and secure. Her care needs are met to a very high standard.
My mother is enjoying having her meals cooked for her and she is overwhelmed by the choice and presentation
of the food cooked for her. The staff are brilliant and give the residents dignity and respect, they are very happy and always reassure me. This is really home from home and we, as a family, feel we have no worries at all.
The manager is very approachable and genuinely cares and is always around to discuss anything, the office door is open at all times.

My Mother in law was admitted to Lightbowne Hall in 2014. She was happy, content and most of all, treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The family felt she was safe and secure. The staff are polite, welcoming and very caring.

My Mother in law suddenly passed away in hospital. The staff and

management have shown myself and the whole family love and support and even since her passing in March, we still visit the home and often call into the café on the first floor for a cup of tea. As a family, we are very grateful for care and support given.

My mother-in-law stayed in Lightbowne Hall for respite and she received excellent care. The staff were fantastic; they looked after her with great patience, understanding, and kindness. Their compassionate approach alleviated my mother-in-law’s anxiety, ensured that she was safe and provided us with
peace of mind that she was being very well cared for during the respite period.
The care home was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very welcoming. I have no hesitation in recommending Lightbowne Hall and hope that my mother-in-law will be able to receive respite care there in the future.

Not enough staff. Some carers are lying about hygiene care. Food is disgusting. Overall the staff are lovely and some are extremely caring in the job. They get stressed because not enough staff are on.

My mother has been in Lightbowne Hall, Moston for five years. She has been poorly many times and on return to the home she has been given all the care and attention for all of her needs.
The staff go above and beyond.
The manager is always willing to help not just my Mam but also all of the family.
Her door is always open to ask any questions and there is always an answer.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.718)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.718) out of 10 for Lightbowne Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.718 for Lightbowne Hall is calculated as follows: ( (212 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 287 Ratings = 4.718
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lightbowne Hall is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
