Colne View provides good quality care and nursing to my mum, along with compassion, respect and reassurance for her personal needs. The home and staff are welcoming and friendly and provide a community feel to not only residents but to family and friends too.

One of the most difficult decisions in life is finding a care home for a loved one. This was even more difficult in my wife's case, who suffered a severe stroke which left her paralysed down one side and without speech. From the moment I looked round the home I was put at ease by the friendly welcoming atmosphere, quality of accommodation and staff. My wife has now been resident for eighteen months and my view is unchanged. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and although my wife is limited to which activities she can join in with these are often brought to her room, such as birds of prey recently. In the past two Christmas events she has fed reindeer and held a live penguin in her lap. Similarly if she does not fancy what is on the menu they always find an alternative for her. I cannot speak too highly of the staff, from management to cleaners. I think it sums up the home when I say that all friends who visit, unprompted mention the welcoming feel of the home and the friendly staff.

A friend of mine was a resident at Colne View and I was very impressed with his room and the friendly staff. This is more like a hotel than a care home and is certainly the care home I will choose when the time comes for me!

I love these people.
My mum has dementia and I was struggling to keep up with her demands to the point that both of our lives were rubbish.
In three weeks, Colne View has turned both my mum's and my and my family's lives around.
Mum is happier, and better cared for, her days are full of activities, and she is eating well.
I now get to spend time with Mum as her son and not her carer.
Everybody there, front of house and back of house, is amazing.

Thank you all so much.

This is truly a fantastic home from home.
Every single member of staff is so friendly, we are able to call for updates as and when needed.
The rooms are spotlessly clean - we especially like the en-suite toilet and shower.
The menu choices are varied every day and they cater for fussy eaters.
They have a great café for visitors and residents to use any time of day with complimentary hot drinks and freshly baked cakes.
There’s plenty of activities to take part in twice a day, also dementia choir, host a roast and dancing with dementia starting soon.
There really is nothing around to match it.
Well done to all at Colne View - three members of staff in particular were exceptionally helpful for us, showing us round and settling us in and put our minds at rest in the early days.

We really can’t thank you all enough at such a difficult time.

Colne View has provided my brother with much needed care, support, stability and love since the death of his wife 10 months ago. All of the team and particularly the carers are kind, sensitive and go out of their way to look after him and care for his every need. As a family, we feel engaged with and fully involved in the decisions about his care and are so pleased we chose Colne View for his long-term care.

My father was looked after very well at Colne View. He was treated with respect and empathy when the symptoms of his deteriorating health made him angry and frustrated. The staff showed patience and kindness towards him. The food I saw at Colne View was very good. Visitors were made to feel very welcome and the cafe is a great facility. Staff were always available to discuss any concerns I had regarding my father's health and well-being.

I can't thank the staff enough for the care and attention they have given my friend from the word go! After trying to settle my friend for over 2 years, 10 care homes later I found Colne View and can't believe I never came here first! What has helped the most is the regular communication from the staff and the fact they respect me as a visitor too. My friend now has finally settled and the visits are enjoyable. 10/10!

Overall experience is good. My mother is settling in and is well cared for. The main issue is a general lack of staff at weekends and no management. It is a pleasant setting with a friendly ambiance. Occasionally parking is a challenge. It can sometimes be difficult to cope with a certain 'resident'.

Meet the Team (1)

Cristina Iacob
Cristina IacobJob Title:Home Manager

Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2013, I have completed leadership and management training courses while progressing in my career from Clinical Lead to Senior Nurse to Home Manager.

Becoming a home manager was the proudest moment in my career. After years of frontline experience, it came as the result of hard work, continuous development and a passion for improving standards of care.

I previously worked for Care UK in 2018 as Clinical Lead, and I always appreciated Care UK’s values and the focus on high-quality, person-centred care. When the opportunity came to return to Colne View as Home Manager, it felt like the right time and the right place to take the next step in my leadership journey.

As Home Manager of Colne View, I believe compassion, integrity and the ability to adapt are essential qualities. A good home manager should inspire confidence, be solution-focused and create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported.

My favourite part of each day is walking through the home and connecting with the residents and team. A smile, a short conversation, or just checking in on how someone’s day is going – those little moments make a big difference and keep me grounded in why I do what I do.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking and taking long walks in nature. I also find reading and listening to music very relaxing.

I’m looking forward to working closely with the team to build a positive culture and ensure residents at Colne View receive the best possible care. I’m also excited about building strong relationships with families and the wider community to make Colne View a warm, welcoming, and vibrant home.
