It was very daunting for our family when we made the decision to find my grandad a care home, but I can safely say I feel happy knowing that he is in the best place possible. It is like a hotel! So many lovely activities going on and lots of different areas for the residents to spend their time. The staff are always happy to help and are very warm, kind and passionate. I can see they have built up a great relationship with my grandad. I feel it is a safe positive and happy place with all the home-to-home comforts!

You’re all doing an amazing job and I am so grateful for you looking after my grandad.

I am very happy with the care my sister-in-law is receiving at Colne View. She has been a resident for some months and I can honestly say that her physical and mental health have improved enormously. The staff are patient and caring and work hard to make her and the other residents feel secure, comfortable and looked after. I cannot speak highly enough of their dedication and kindness. I would recommend Colne View tightly for the level of care and also the beautiful surroundings and comfort the home offers.

My mother has been a resident for a number of years and I have to say in all the time that she has, we have had no complaints whatsoever. The staff are so friendly and nothing is ever too much. They always take 5 minutes out of their busy day to stop and chat. My mum always seems content and never anxious. And I feel all her needs are met and she's happy and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the care home to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved ones.

I am so pleased I got our dear friend into Colne View Care Home. My experience with every one of the staff I have met has been top-class. I only have to ask and I get answers. My friend is well looked after and staff are always popping in to see her and to see her well-being. I met the main person at Colne View, I can speak to her or phone whenever I like and she will see to my needs. I tell folk how pleased I am with Colne View.

To date, I cannot find fault with Colne View care home. Mum needed care after Dad suffered a debilitating stroke. We knew that he would also ultimately need care. Even though the care needs were likely to be different, the team at Colne View facilitated 2 rooms opposite each other so that my parents could be together. After 74 years of marriage, this was all they wanted and Colne View made it happen! Since then the care and attention from every single member of staff from the management, the nurses, the health care assistants, the cleaners, the laundry, activities, catering and maintenance (sorry if any missed) has been carried out with genuine compassion and empathy.

I have only been here for three weeks so my experiences are limited. The activities are excellent, the food is mainly to my liking. It's very clean and my room is nicely decorated. Outside activities include visiting a local nursery to help the under-fours with their reading.

On arrival, the staff made me very welcome and they are very understanding, caring and alert to every need. The activities are brilliant and always different. The food is excellent as are the staff when it's being served. They are very observant and always check we have what we need. I really love my room and the bed is so comfy. I love all the outdoor places we go to and riding in the minibus is great. I do love it here so very much. Thank you.

Colne View has been amazing in the run-up to Christma, providing some lovely activities for the residents, including a visit from some real penguins! The home looks amazing with all the decorations, with many either placed or made by the residents themselves. My mum has been having a great time, even if she can't remember it afterwards!

My Mother is in this Care UK home in Halstead. I am disgusted to hear that my mother asked a care nurse that she needed to go to the toilet, to be told that she has had to do it in her knickers/nappy because the staff does not have enough toilet hoists in the home. This is disgusting! You wouldn't leave an animal in its own waste. My Mother feels so degraded that she is being told to do this. This is the first time I have heard of this. This home is not cheap so if you are thinking of putting your loved one here think again. I will complain to Social Care Ombudsman about this!

During my visits to the care home, I have always found the staff to be kind and caring. It is well organised and a lovely welcoming environment for residents and their visitors. We particularly like the 'cafe area' on the ground floor to meet with family members as it is a spacious, quiet and relaxing place to meet. It has plenty of space for wheelchairs and I can even bring my young baby in her pushchair too! We never feel rushed and all our questions are answered when we have them. Best of all, my grandad seems very comfortable at the care home and well cared for.

The staff have made this very traumatic time that much easier to deal with. My dad needed to be placed in a home and after visiting many there was no doubt in my mind that Colne View Care Home was by far the best place for my dad to be and in Colne View, he would receive the very best care and his needs would be met fully.

The staff are always polite and friendly. The home is always clean.

Meet the Team (1)

Cristina Iacob
Cristina IacobJob Title:Home Manager

Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2013, I have completed leadership and management training courses while progressing in my career from Clinical Lead to Senior Nurse to Home Manager.

Becoming a home manager was the proudest moment in my career. After years of frontline experience, it came as the result of hard work, continuous development and a passion for improving standards of care.

I previously worked for Care UK in 2018 as Clinical Lead, and I always appreciated Care UK’s values and the focus on high-quality, person-centred care. When the opportunity came to return to Colne View as Home Manager, it felt like the right time and the right place to take the next step in my leadership journey.

As Home Manager of Colne View, I believe compassion, integrity and the ability to adapt are essential qualities. A good home manager should inspire confidence, be solution-focused and create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported.

My favourite part of each day is walking through the home and connecting with the residents and team. A smile, a short conversation, or just checking in on how someone’s day is going – those little moments make a big difference and keep me grounded in why I do what I do.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking and taking long walks in nature. I also find reading and listening to music very relaxing.

I’m looking forward to working closely with the team to build a positive culture and ensure residents at Colne View receive the best possible care. I’m also excited about building strong relationships with families and the wider community to make Colne View a warm, welcoming, and vibrant home.
