After consulting my friends and family, it was decided that I needed some respite care as I had been falling at home a number of times and been unable to get up. Since coming to Colne View, I feel 150% better. At home, I had not been eating well but the food at Colne View has been exceptional, and I
now I feel a different person. The staff are amazing, there is always somebody there to lean on and someone ready to give you a hug. I am a smoker and my wish was to continue this whilst at Colne View and the staff have been very accommodating with this. Safety is the highest priority and I can highly recommend this care home. The price isn't exorbitant and if you would like a friendly, kind atmosphere to retreat to, Colne View comes with my highest recommendation.

I have been living at Colne View Care Home for nearly seven years and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I am very happy here. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The home is homely and nice looking and the staff always ensure that everything is neat and tidy.

My mother was a resident at Colne View Care Home for around three months following a major operation. The staff on the first and second floor were very kind and caring and did all they could for my mum under very trying circumstances due to the pandemic which caused staff shortages. My mum did say she
felt well cared for and in a safe environment.

Nurses and carers were very caring and attended to Dad whenever we needed them to.
Would be useful for family members to have an induction into the home as initially I was taken to Dad's room by a maintenance man.
Having had no tour or knowledge of the security numbers near the doors it was difficult
to get in or out!

Our dad spent just over two weeks at Colne View Care Home. He had very good care during his time here in a lovely room that overlooked the sports ground. Carers were on hand to support Dad at all times.
The home is very animal friendly, so much so that I was able to bring my dog in which was just wonderful.

When I was told my husband could not come home because he needed 24-hour care, I was devastated. I have been caring for him for the past three and a half years. Within 24-hours of him having been admitted to Colne View, I completely change my mind. Without exception, the staff care not only for him
but for me and my family. Colne View gave me the chance to be a wife again and not a carer. I am deeply grateful for this, and it made his passing easier to bear. I would like to mention different members of staff, who were exceptional, but every denomination played their part and gave exceptional service. My family and I would like to thank each and every person who helped him during his stay at Colne View.

Mum came to Colne View Care Home from hospital on 17/08/2021 for 24/7 nursing care. She had not been out since February 2020 until going into hospital. Mum was very scared, being away from her home where she would never return. Mum, due to her illness, could not talk. From the moment she arrived at
Colne View, the care she received was outstanding and continued until she sadly passed away on 04/10/2021. She was able to see all her family, who were all made welcome when visiting her. I told the staff they were like Mum's guardian angels. Mum often wrote 'I feel safe, everyone is so kind and caring'. On the day Mum passed away all the staff again gave their support and that care and support continued on the last day we collected her items. We will be forever grateful. Thank you all at Colne View.

The care staff were very considerate, cheerful and friendly. They were considerate of my needs and catered for them well. However, because of the Corvid situation, I was isolated in my room for the first seven days (of 21) and realised that the staff were under pressure and could not afford to give
me greater time for conversation. The facilities of the home were excellent but it was not possible to make full use of them, again due to the Covid situation.

Its obviously been a difficult year. I am grateful to the staff for taking care of my mum. They have been very good at giving updates. The best thing has been the zoom meetings. It offers the chance to speak directly to the manager, share experiences with other relatives and it means that relatives
from all over the country or locally keep in touch without having to travel, particularly important during lockdowns. I think its something that could continue even after restrictions are lifted. I would particularly like to thank one member of staff who is moving on to other things, knowing he himself has not been able to visit his own family during this time. I wish him every success in the future.

My partner moved into Colne View March 2020. In the middle of the pandemic. I had concerns as the home, along with the country, went into lockdown, however, Colne View have been amazing.
The care my partner has received has been amazing, being on 51 he is I believe the youngest resident and his needs
and care are quite high and demanding. He has been treated with respect and well looked after.
The staff are all amazing and do a fabulous job, during the lockdown, us as family, were updated with emails, letters and monthly Zoom meetings.
Massive big thank you to all at Colne View.

My mother entered care at Colne View just seven months before the first Covid lockdown. I am grateful I had this time to visit her in person, as I could see first-hand the incredible care and skill of the staff who look after her. I have been impressed on a number of occasions at how they deal with
vulnerable residents with dementia.
During the pandemic, the staff have all been amazing! Of course, it's been very hard not being able to visit my mother during much of the last year, but I have been very grateful and relieved to know that she is in good hands and being looked after to the best possible standard in such difficult times. The home has managed the pandemic well, always putting residents' safety first and avoiding any major breakouts.
Colne View is a lively place with regular activities for the residents, and they have continued this as well as possible during the lockdowns. The staff take time to get to know each resident and find out what they like and don't like to do.

My mother has been at the home for four years now and her dementia over that period has severely deteriorated. However, in all that time she has been looked after with care, sensitivity and most sincere kindness. she is not always the easiest person to get on with when her dementia makes her angry and
frustrated but the staff shows her nothing but gentleness and consideration.

When looking for a care home for both my 90-year-old parents, I was keen to find somewhere that could accommodate them together and would be able to give continuous care for my mother, living with dementia, as her condition progressed; who encouraged residents to maintain their existing skills and provided
good stimulation in the activities provided.
I was very impressed with how our questions, concerns and requests for information were dealt with in that initial fact-finding period and have been continually heartened, as time has progressed, by the attention both my parents and I myself have received from the staff. All the staff, in the office and the carers, are polite, friendly and respectful and deal with any queries or concerns promptly.
Colne View, being purpose-built, provides a very suitable environment for daily life, with excellent facilities, en suites to every room, with modern and comfortable décor, and my mother, now on her own, is well looked after and appears content.

I couldn’t ask for a better home. My dad joined in the summer due to him being unsafe at home. I was recommended by a friend because her mum was there too. The home is clean and fresh and everyone is really friendly and lovely. My dad is thriving and has now settled in, during unsettling times.

My mother has high needs and is cared for extremely well. The care staff show compassion and are aware of her needs on a daily basis. The nursing staff are always available to give me an update of her wellbeing and any plans for her regarding visits from other practitioners. They are also are very sympathetic
and supportive too when she is unwell or needing medical care.
When entering the building the receptionist and admin team are always friendly and polite, giving you a warm welcome. The manager has an open-door policy, always happy to chat about any concerns. He has a hold on the daily running of the home and makes sure he is in touch with the residents.
During the lockdown, the manager has provided up to date information on procedures in place and always been very honest about the changing situation which has been very challenging for staff and relatives alike.
I highly recommend Colne View to provide the best care for your loved one.

I stayed at Colne View for a fortnight's respite care. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff and management were so kind and considerate. The food was excellent and I enjoyed the activities. My room was well-appointed as was the en-suite bathroom. I can recommend Colne View.

All staff seem helpful and caring. The place is clean and tidy and does not feel like a normal care home. Even the chef takes pride in his work and meets the guests and families.
