Its obviously been a difficult year. I am grateful to the staff for taking care of my mum. They have been very good at giving updates. The best thing has been the zoom meetings. It offers the chance to speak directly to the manager, share experiences with other relatives and it means that relatives from all over the country or locally keep in touch without having to travel, particularly important during lockdowns. I think its something that could continue even after restrictions are lifted. I would particularly like to thank one member of staff who is moving on to other things, knowing he himself has not been able to visit his own family during this time. I wish him every success in the future.

My partner moved into Colne View March 2020. In the middle of the pandemic. I had concerns as the home, along with the country, went into lockdown, however, Colne View have been amazing.
The care my partner has received has been amazing, being on 51 he is I believe the youngest resident and his needs and care are quite high and demanding. He has been treated with respect and well looked after.
The staff are all amazing and do a fabulous job, during the lockdown, us as family, were updated with emails, letters and monthly Zoom meetings.

Massive big thank you to all at Colne View.

My mother entered care at Colne View just seven months before the first Covid lockdown. I am grateful I had this time to visit her in person, as I could see first-hand the incredible care and skill of the staff who look after her. I have been impressed on a number of occasions at how they deal with vulnerable residents with dementia.
During the pandemic, the staff have all been amazing! Of course, it's been very hard not being able to visit my mother during much of the last year, but I have been very grateful and relieved to know that she is in good hands and being looked after to the best possible standard in such difficult times. The home has managed the pandemic well, always putting residents' safety first and avoiding any major breakouts.

Colne View is a lively place with regular activities for the residents, and they have continued this as well as possible during the lockdowns. The staff take time to get to know each resident and find out what they like and don't like to do.

My mother has been at the home for four years now and her dementia over that period has severely deteriorated. However, in all that time she has been looked after with care, sensitivity and most sincere kindness. she is not always the easiest person to get on with when her dementia makes her angry and frustrated but the staff shows her nothing but gentleness and consideration.

When looking for a care home for both my 90-year-old parents, I was keen to find somewhere that could accommodate them together and would be able to give continuous care for my mother, living with dementia, as her condition progressed; who encouraged residents to maintain their existing skills and provided good stimulation in the activities provided.
I was very impressed with how our questions, concerns and requests for information were dealt with in that initial fact-finding period and have been continually heartened, as time has progressed, by the attention both my parents and I myself have received from the staff. All the staff, in the office and the carers, are polite, friendly and respectful and deal with any queries or concerns promptly.

Colne View, being purpose-built, provides a very suitable environment for daily life, with excellent facilities, en suites to every room, with modern and comfortable décor, and my mother, now on her own, is well looked after and appears content.

I couldn’t ask for a better home. My dad joined in the summer due to him being unsafe at home. I was recommended by a friend because her mum was there too. The home is clean and fresh and everyone is really friendly and lovely. My dad is thriving and has now settled in, during unsettling times.

My mother has high needs and is cared for extremely well. The care staff show compassion and are aware of her needs on a daily basis. The nursing staff are always available to give me an update of her wellbeing and any plans for her regarding visits from other practitioners. They are also are very sympathetic and supportive too when she is unwell or needing medical care.
When entering the building the receptionist and admin team are always friendly and polite, giving you a warm welcome. The manager has an open-door policy, always happy to chat about any concerns. He has a hold on the daily running of the home and makes sure he is in touch with the residents.
During the lockdown, the manager has provided up to date information on procedures in place and always been very honest about the changing situation which has been very challenging for staff and relatives alike.

I highly recommend Colne View to provide the best care for your loved one.

Review from Ray B (Partner of Resident) published on 27 November 2019 Submitted via Postal Card

Design of the home in certain aspects not suitable for dementia patients. Colour definition of doors on circulation routes is poor. Circulation within the home is not conducive to good locating for dementia patients and not within accepted design guidance. Staff were very pleasant but I did find my partner sitting in the corridor half-dressed at 9.30 am. A pleasant atmosphere in the home but very, very expensive.

My two week stay after an abdominal hysterectomy was just what I needed. I received above excellent care. The staff were brilliant, always helpful, kind and considerate allowing me to recover from my operation with the secure knowledge that there was always somebody to support me; preparing my going home to look after myself as well.

A very friendly, easy, relaxed approach made my stay as pleasant as possible.

My lovely Dad was transferred to Colne View for end of life care. He was cared for beautifully by ALL the staff and it is such a comfort to us following his recent peaceful death. Dad was always comfy and clean, and the compassion shown by the staff was so lovely. This was extended to us as a family every time we visited and we will be forever grateful.

Thank you so very much.

Meet the Team (1)

Cristina Iacob
Cristina IacobJob Title:Home Manager

Since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2013, I have completed leadership and management training courses while progressing in my career from Clinical Lead to Senior Nurse to Home Manager.

Becoming a home manager was the proudest moment in my career. After years of frontline experience, it came as the result of hard work, continuous development and a passion for improving standards of care.

I previously worked for Care UK in 2018 as Clinical Lead, and I always appreciated Care UK’s values and the focus on high-quality, person-centred care. When the opportunity came to return to Colne View as Home Manager, it felt like the right time and the right place to take the next step in my leadership journey.

As Home Manager of Colne View, I believe compassion, integrity and the ability to adapt are essential qualities. A good home manager should inspire confidence, be solution-focused and create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported.

My favourite part of each day is walking through the home and connecting with the residents and team. A smile, a short conversation, or just checking in on how someone’s day is going – those little moments make a big difference and keep me grounded in why I do what I do.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking and taking long walks in nature. I also find reading and listening to music very relaxing.

I’m looking forward to working closely with the team to build a positive culture and ensure residents at Colne View receive the best possible care. I’m also excited about building strong relationships with families and the wider community to make Colne View a warm, welcoming, and vibrant home.
