Two years ago, our family made the difficult decision to find a care home for our elderley in laws as they could no longer be left alone to live independently in their own home. We looked at many possibilities of a care homes and we absolutely made the right choice by selecting Juniper. Sadly Nanny died over a year ago. Juniper helped us every step of the way, there were difficult decisions to make, but with Juniper's care, love and help to us all, we succeeded. Since this time Grandad has flourished and he is now better than he has been in 5 or so years. He smiles nearly all the time, because carers and other members of staff talk to him (especially about football). He loves the food and eats well, anything he wants is provided. He joins in the excellent entertainment and exercise programmes despite his fraility. Grandad's extended Juniper family, have given him a new lease of life. He looks well and he is very happy. Friends and family cannot believe the change. All the staff really do make a different and they unconditionally listen and support him and us. Thank you all so much.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, we love having Grandad here and it is so nice hearing how he has flourished with us. Your nanny is sadly missed by us all here at Juniper. I will pass on your kind words to the team. Thank you Karen
The time my husband has been in the home they have always attended to his needs and wellbeing.
They keep me fully updated with any issues or changes which is a great weight of my mind knowing he is cared for so well.
Thank you to all the staff.
Pamela
Thank you so much for your kind words we will share these with the team. It is an absolute pleasure looking after your husband and having you visit.
The staff were very friendly and supportive despite my mother sometimes having challenging behaviour
After seven weeks she has resigned herself to staying and made new friends, she seems entirely settled now
We are delighted to hear how well your mother has settled with us and has made many new friends. It is an absolute pleasure having your mother with us and we love having all of you as part of our family at Juniper.
Nothing is ever too much trouble from all the friendly and supportive staff, we are always made to feel very welcome and have always had the peace of mind that dad was being very well looked after and treated with the upmost dignity. In his final days there, the team went over and above in terms of support and kindness, not only ensuring he had all his needs met, but also us as a family at such a difficult time.
Extremely well run home with a great team - thank you for everything
It means a great deal to us to know that your father felt at home here, and that you and your family had confidence and...
However Juniper House staff brought her round to the point where she could enjoy life again. The good food and caring staff had a very positive effect. Although she couldn't walk and was doubly incontinent the expert care she received made her twilight years the best they could be.
She thoroughly enjoyed the games, crafts, activities and particularly the regular live music entertainment.
Found all the staff to be extremely supportive to residents and family members. The homely atmosphere is maintained to a high level and ultra clean. Cannot fault the homely atmosphere or staff at all. Thank you all for everything you have done!
Our staff always strive to...
I can't fault this care home at all, my mother who was quite unhappy about going into a care home is now a very happy lady, the staff are exceptional, they are all so kind and caring and always take time to say hello and offer support where it is needed. As a family member I have also been very much welcomed into the home as to the rest of my family also.
Thank you so much for taking your time to write us such a lovely review. It is an absolute pleasure having your mother with us and we love having all of you as part of our family at Juniper.
There is a lovely caring, family atmosphere at Juniper House. My mother was very happy and well cared for, for her final months. Everyone has the resident's well being at the heart of all they do. We couldn't have been more satisfied.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your mum was greatly loved here at Juniper House and missed everyday. It was an absolute pleasure having you all as part of our family.
All went above and beyond with support for us all as a family.
Such a homely environment throughout the home and always welcoming. Any issues we had or support we needed was never a problem for management to help with.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure looking after your mother in her final months with us. Kind regards
Dad stayed at Juniper House for 5 months. Having to adjust from living independently, to being physically and mentally incapacitated. The care and friendliness he was shown by all staff was exceptional. The care team helped him adapt and cope with his new limitations. Dad loved the food, and all his dietary requirements were met.
Dad had a full care plan in place that was regularly reviewed. We witnessed the high level of care delivered to all the residents, particularly at mealtimes when staff are under a lot of pressure. The care team remained inclusive and alert to balance every individual's needs, always with a smile and friendly chat.
During Dad's end of life care, my family feel blessed to be with my Dad until the end. The professionalism, care and love from all of the RGN's guided us through this sad time with support and ease. Dad was treated with the utmost dignity at all times, and his comfort was the priority, making the right decisions at exactly the right times.
Dear Yvonne, Thank you so much for taking your time to review us here at Juniper. It was an absolute pleasure to look after your dad and to give you all time with him as a family. I will pass on your lovely comments to the team here. Kind regards Karen
Sensitive approach to death with dignity.
One member of staff, in particular, is a great example but many other have been excellent others have been excellent throughout my mothers care, i.e. one member of staff, in particular, as a carer and another member of staff.
Thank you so much for taking your time to review Juniper House Care Home. It was a pleasure to look after your Mum, I will ensure that your kind words are passed onto the team. Thank you
Thank you so much for your kindness and consideration as you looked after my mum with such care and compassion in her final days. Her three years at Barchester Juniper House were as positive and comfortable as they could be due, in no small measure, to the professionalism, support and kindness of the team.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it was a pleasure looking after your mum. We will all miss her here at Juniper. I will pass on your kind words to the team.
My husband has been in Barchester Juniper House nearly two years with advanced dementia - unable to care or speak for himself. His care has been excellent - caring and respectful. I visit every day. The home is like home from home. Caring staff, homely atmosphere and thoughtfulness, even to myself. My nephew, from Australia, visited - he had hardly got through the door and was very impressed with the home and my husband's room and the friendliness of staff. I know my husband is in good hands. The meals are very good and most of the time, presented well. I have recommended the home to others. I am very happy with Juniper.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so happy that your husband is settled here and we enjoy seeing you every day. I will ensure your lovely words are passed on to the team. Many thanks, Juniper House.
As soon as you walk into the home there is a cosy, warm family atmosphere.
Her room is bright with new furniture and a lovely outlook on the garden. With the help of carers she can shower each day safely. Mum enjoys all her meals, when living alone she hardly ate and had a poor appetite.
I have observed the carers and all staff with other residents and they are treated with utmost kindness and respect. I am always made to feel welcome and I really like the happy atmosphere, there is plenty for mum to do if she wishes.
Mum likes to spend time in the garden which is kept beautiful with bird feeders, flowers and a fish pond.
I am truly thankful to the manager and her amazing team, Juniper Houser is wonderful.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad that you and your mum are so comfortable at Juniper. Kind regards.
All staff at Barchester Juniper House are very welcoming and it gives the home a lovely family feel. My aunt has settled in very well after having to leave her own home earlier this year. The care she receives is excellent; nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and we are kept fully informed of any medical concerns. We would like to express our appreciation for the kindness and support shown.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are glad to hear you had a great experience and appreciate your support.
My nan has been there for sixteen months now after only going in for two weeks rest, she absolutely loved it and wanted to make this her new home. All the staff are amazing, nothing is ever too much to ask from them. It's a very welcoming, clean and family feel to the home. Activities are always on and loads of different things for her to enjoy plus being taken out to local places. It's always lovely and clean when we visit and full of smiles from the staff. This definitely makes it easier to leave Nan in the best hands when we leave.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Shona. They mean a lot to us.
Thank you!
Thank you very much for your feedback. We truly appreciate it!
Mum has been in Juniper now for a little over a year. The staff are very welcoming, cheery and approachable. They will always help with any concerns and keep families well informed. The standard of care is very good and individual needs are addressed. There are plenty of activities for residents to enjoy if they wish to, but privacy is also respected. The grounds are beautifully kept and the communal areas and residents rooms are always very clean. The food is very good and residents are frequently consulted for their likes and dislikes. We would like Mum to be taken out into the garden a little more often but appreciate that this can be difficult due to varying demands on staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us. We'll make sure your mum gets to enjoy our garden more often. Thank you again!
Mum is happy and content. I highly recommend Juniper to others.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us. We'll make sure your mum gets to enjoy our garden more often. Thank you again!
All nurses and carers are compassionate, loving and extremely supportive when needed.
I simply can't say a bad word about Juniper!
Thank you very much for your feedback; we truly appreciate the time you took to share it with us. It's always a privilege and a source of pride to care for your mum.
The staff (all of them) keep me fully informed of happenings and medical conditions and if needed medical changes.
I could not be happier with this placement.
Hi Ian, thank you so much for your lovely review, it is an absolute pleasure having your wife here and seeing your friendly face on a daily basis. Kind regards.

Meet the Team (8)

Hello, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager at Juniper House.
I began my nursing career in 1985 as a Registered Nurse, spending many rewarding years working within the NHS across a variety of departments. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience before moving into specialist palliative care at Marie Curie Hospice, where I had the privilege of supporting people and their families during some of life's most challenging times.
In 2019, I joined Juniper House as a Registered Nurse. Care home nursing is very different from other areas of healthcare, but I quickly discovered how rewarding and fulfilling it is. A few months after joining, I was promoted to Unit Manager for our Elderly and Frail units, where I enjoyed leading my team and helping to maintain the high standards of care we are proud to provide.
In 2021, I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, further developing my leadership skills and supporting the continued growth of the home. In January 2025, I was honoured to be appointed General Manager.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and take great pride in seeing Juniper House continue to flourish. Being part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team is something I value every day, and together we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our residents.

I joined Juniper House when it first opened in 2012, and I've been proud to be part of the team ever since.
I started my career here as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Carer. I was then selected as part of Barchester's first cohort of Care Practitioners, an opportunity that inspired me to begin my nursing training.
While continuing my journey at Juniper House, I completed my nurse training between 2018 and 2021, building on the knowledge and experience I had gained within the home. In 2024, I became Unit Manager, and in 2026 I was delighted to take on the role of Deputy Manager.
Having grown with Juniper House from the very beginning, I feel incredibly passionate about our home, our residents, and our team. I enjoy supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. It is a privilege to be part of so many residents' lives and to contribute to making every day the best it can be.

Hi, my name is Naomi, and I joined Juniper House in February 2023 as the Administrator, supporting our General Manager, Deputy Manager, and the wider team. Before joining Juniper House, I gained experience in finance, administration, and customer service, which has given me a strong background in organisation and communication. My role is varied, and I enjoy helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home while supporting our residents, relatives, and colleagues. During my time at Juniper House, I successfully completed my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has helped me further develop my skills and knowledge within my role.
I am always happy to help if residents, relatives, or members of staff have any questions or need assistance. Although I don't have a direct caregiving role, one of the best parts of my job is spending time with our residents. I love chatting with them and getting to know them, and it's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team.
Outside of work, I'm a self-confessed crazy cat lady! I volunteer with Cherwell Cats Protection and have even completed two feline-related diplomas because of my passion for cats.
My office is next to reception, so please feel free to pop in and say hello if you have any questions or just fancy a chat!

Hi, I'm Naomi, and I'm the Activities Coordinator at Juniper House. I started my journey here in 2013 as a Carer and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant after just one year. In 2024, I was delighted to take on the role of Activities Coordinator, allowing me to combine my passion for caring with creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
Having worked across both our residential and dementia communities, I understand how important it is to provide activities that are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to each person's interests, abilities and life story. I love getting to know our residents, learning about their backgrounds, hobbies and the things that bring them joy, so that every day offers opportunities for fun, connection and purpose.
No two days are ever the same, and that's what I love most about my role. Whether we're celebrating special occasions, enjoying music, arts and crafts, games, outings or simply spending time chatting over a cup of tea, I aim to help every resident feel valued, included and supported to live life to the fullest.
Seeing our residents smile, laugh and create new memories with friends is the most rewarding part of my job, and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team at Juniper House.

Hello, I’m Luke, Head of Maintenance at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and became HOM at the beginning of 2024. I’m passionate about maintaining the home at high standards and providing an inviting environment for our residents, visitors and staffs.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I have been working at Juniper House as the Head Chef since 2022. I bring a vast wealth of experience and knowledge with me to Juniper House, from working at Star Hotels and privately run gastropubs, as well as 6 years working in hotels in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am passionate about putting the freshest, tastiest meals in front of your loved ones, from traditional English favourites as well as some more modern dishes with a twist. One of my favourite parts of my job is talking to our residents and finding out what they like or would like to see on our seasonally changing menus. I am always around the home, so if you should want to have a chat to me, I would be more than happy to.

My name is Rachel, and I have over 17 years of housekeeping experience with the NHS, where I developed and maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient care. Throughout my time with the NHS, I gained extensive knowledge of infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
In 2016, I achieved my Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, which further strengthened my understanding of best practices in infection prevention and reinforced my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
I have been working at Juniper House since 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the team. In my role, I take pride in ensuring that every area of the home is maintained to the highest standard, providing a clean, safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. I understand the positive impact that a well-maintained environment has on residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life, and I always strive to deliver my work with professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
I am passionate about supporting the team and contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Juniper House, ensuring that our residents feel comfortable, respected, and proud to call it their home.

Hello. I'm Tracey, and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone, so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team, and I like getting to know residents' families.
