Particular thanks to one member of staff, in particular, who seems to have an excellent rapport with her.
Dear Rory, thank you so much for your amazing review and we are so happy that your grandmother has improved so much since being with us. We will pass on your feedback to her key worker. Thank you.
They looked after my mother with such love that it put my mind at rest that we had made the right choice.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your mother is greatly missed at Juniper House. Please do keep in touch and pop in to see us when you are in the area. Thanks.
The staff at Juniper House were particularly attentive when some of our family visited to celebrate my parent's 65th wedding anniversary. We were very impressed when the catering department provided a specially decorated cake, which, as well as looking amazing also tasted delicious! The staff are always friendly and helpful and made sure that this special occasion was enjoyed by us all.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.
The most fantastic, purpose-built care home in the area, which is genuinely like a home from home. My husband receives the best care, which is so wonderful to see - this is from everyone, not just the amazing carers directly responsible for him but from the chefs, housekeeping, administration staff, and nurses and up to management level. The food is so good and there are always activities and outings being planned to stimulate and keep the residents active. I too am always made so welcome and spend lots of time with my husband each day - I really feel part of the family - and I cannot recommend Barchester Juniper House enough.
Thank you for your lovely review, we look forward to seeing you every day and are honoured that you chose us to look after your husband. Many thanks from everyone at Juniper House.
I selected Juniper House for my father based on the testament of two friends and a personal visit. The home is in a lovely setting and is beautifully landscaped and well-maintained, the central courtyard with the fountain being visible from all the rooms on that side of the building. The inside is well-designed, laid out and immaculately clean. I wanted to get my father out of the hospital and into nursing care. The manager pulled out all the stops to achieve this as quickly as possible. All the staff were welcoming, friendly, caring, kind and helpful; I knew they would take good care of my father. As it turned out he did not have much time left, so he didn't get to take part in any of the many fun and stimulating activities offered to residents. The staff went out of their way to make my father's short stay comfortable and dignified, I genuinely can't think of a single thing that could have been done better and will always be grateful for the way they treated him.
Dear Oliver, thank you so much for your lovely feedback and kind words. I will ensure to pass these on to our dedicated team here at Juniper. Thank you again.
Mum has been very happy here. Enjoying all the activities etc. The staff are great, nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you so much for your review, I will ensure the staff are told about the great service that they are providing. Thank you
I have nothing but positive things to say about Barchester Juniper House and the wonderful staff. My mother had always dreaded the moment she may need to move to a home but she is happy, safe and in a very caring and professional environment and if she is happy, I'm happy. I always feel that it's the staff that makes a business great. That is certainly the case here.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to us at Juniper House. I will ensure that the staff also receive a big thank you on behalf of yourself. Many thanks.
It is with emphasis that Juniper House goes beyond care right up until my mother passed away.
Forever grateful to everyone there.
Thank you so much for your kind words your feedback means a lot to us and we are grateful for the opportunity to assist your mother. We definitely miss your visits.
I visit this and other establishments as a therapy dog provider and find that the staff are respectful of the residents and are very caring. They know the needs of individuals and respond accordingly. The residents do give positive feedback to me whilst I am with them with the dog (have been to other places where adverse comments are made). Difficult to comment on some of the ratings, as no experience.
Thank you, as you know it is lovely to see Sam every time.
My room was very pleasant, quiet and comfortable.
The staff were all very caring and welcoming.
The food was good on the whole and the menu was varied. I cannot comment on the activities programme as I did not take part in any, other than meeting the PAT dog, which was lovely.
Thank you so much for your feedback. It was a pleasure to care for you.
I always really enjoy my visit here. I am greeted warmly and made to feel welcome and it is so lovely to see how well looked after my mum is. She is really settled and treated so well and whilst it is always hard to leave and return home, I do so with the knowledge that she is safe, cared for and comfortable. Thanks for all you do for her.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback.
The manager and nurses are always on hand to answer any questions we may have. Food looks delicious and the onsite cafe is very handy, especially as we do not live nearby.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Pleased that you are happy with our care.
My mother came to Juniper House, to begin with for respite care. The care and support that we all received was outstanding. So much so that Mother once said she would never go into a care home and within a week does not want to return home. The move to Juniper House has given my mother a new lease of life and she is now joining in with social events, visiting the hairdresser and has a more positive outlook on her life which is evident to see when we visit.
We're pleased to know that your experience with us was good. Your kind words are greatly appreciated.
My mum moved into Juniper House last March. She has been made to feel extremely welcome and she settled into her new routine quickly. The staff are superb, always spending time to care for my mum's emotional and physical needs with the utmost care and compassion. Often under difficult circumstances when there are staff shortages and the staff are under pressure.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback.
Mum has been in the care home since the beginning of November 2022 and seems to have settled well. The care she receives is of a high quality in a clean and positive environment. I live abroad and always have complete feedback on the phone. Reception is welcoming and positive. Obviously, such a home is expensive and I feel strongly that this should not be a criteria for staying and that all elderly people in need should have financial support.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us.
Booking in was fine. Staff friendly and helpful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback.
My dad arrived at Juniper House after a very long stay in the hospital. We were greeted at Juniper House with a very warm welcome, the staff are all warm and friendly. My dad was made to feel comfortable and staff go out of their way to ensure all his needs are met. The design of the care home is super and the corridors have enabled my dad to move around with a frame and build up strength in his legs. He feels safe and secure in this environment. He can socialise with other patients at mealtimes. Juniper has helped create a home away from home. My dad has been allowed his digital piano in his room and his dog visits regularly. Members of the family visit every day and if we have any problems staff are always accommodating and keen to help.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback. It means a lot to us.
You all are incredible and trusting people that clearly have a true passion for your job. We want to thank each one of you for everything you have done.
Thank you.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all.
It's our pleasure to hear your valuable feedback.
I visited my aunt this week at Barchester Juniper House in Brackley. This was the first time I had seen my aunt for some months, the last time during a hospital stay where she was not very well at all. I was delighted to find her back to her old self. She looked amazing and is happy and well cared for. The home is lovely and I know she is enjoying the relationships she has with both staff and residents. She is creative and so the art activities are a particular favourite. All the staff we met were charming. Many thanks to you all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this amazing review.

Meet the Team (8)

Hello, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager at Juniper House.
I began my nursing career in 1985 as a Registered Nurse, spending many rewarding years working within the NHS across a variety of departments. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience before moving into specialist palliative care at Marie Curie Hospice, where I had the privilege of supporting people and their families during some of life's most challenging times.
In 2019, I joined Juniper House as a Registered Nurse. Care home nursing is very different from other areas of healthcare, but I quickly discovered how rewarding and fulfilling it is. A few months after joining, I was promoted to Unit Manager for our Elderly and Frail units, where I enjoyed leading my team and helping to maintain the high standards of care we are proud to provide.
In 2021, I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, further developing my leadership skills and supporting the continued growth of the home. In January 2025, I was honoured to be appointed General Manager.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and take great pride in seeing Juniper House continue to flourish. Being part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team is something I value every day, and together we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our residents.

I joined Juniper House when it first opened in 2012, and I've been proud to be part of the team ever since.
I started my career here as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Carer. I was then selected as part of Barchester's first cohort of Care Practitioners, an opportunity that inspired me to begin my nursing training.
While continuing my journey at Juniper House, I completed my nurse training between 2018 and 2021, building on the knowledge and experience I had gained within the home. In 2024, I became Unit Manager, and in 2026 I was delighted to take on the role of Deputy Manager.
Having grown with Juniper House from the very beginning, I feel incredibly passionate about our home, our residents, and our team. I enjoy supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. It is a privilege to be part of so many residents' lives and to contribute to making every day the best it can be.

Hi, my name is Naomi, and I joined Juniper House in February 2023 as the Administrator, supporting our General Manager, Deputy Manager, and the wider team. Before joining Juniper House, I gained experience in finance, administration, and customer service, which has given me a strong background in organisation and communication. My role is varied, and I enjoy helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home while supporting our residents, relatives, and colleagues. During my time at Juniper House, I successfully completed my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has helped me further develop my skills and knowledge within my role.
I am always happy to help if residents, relatives, or members of staff have any questions or need assistance. Although I don't have a direct caregiving role, one of the best parts of my job is spending time with our residents. I love chatting with them and getting to know them, and it's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team.
Outside of work, I'm a self-confessed crazy cat lady! I volunteer with Cherwell Cats Protection and have even completed two feline-related diplomas because of my passion for cats.
My office is next to reception, so please feel free to pop in and say hello if you have any questions or just fancy a chat!

Hi, I'm Naomi, and I'm the Activities Coordinator at Juniper House. I started my journey here in 2013 as a Carer and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant after just one year. In 2024, I was delighted to take on the role of Activities Coordinator, allowing me to combine my passion for caring with creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
Having worked across both our residential and dementia communities, I understand how important it is to provide activities that are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to each person's interests, abilities and life story. I love getting to know our residents, learning about their backgrounds, hobbies and the things that bring them joy, so that every day offers opportunities for fun, connection and purpose.
No two days are ever the same, and that's what I love most about my role. Whether we're celebrating special occasions, enjoying music, arts and crafts, games, outings or simply spending time chatting over a cup of tea, I aim to help every resident feel valued, included and supported to live life to the fullest.
Seeing our residents smile, laugh and create new memories with friends is the most rewarding part of my job, and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team at Juniper House.

Hello, I’m Luke, Head of Maintenance at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and became HOM at the beginning of 2024. I’m passionate about maintaining the home at high standards and providing an inviting environment for our residents, visitors and staffs.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I have been working at Juniper House as the Head Chef since 2022. I bring a vast wealth of experience and knowledge with me to Juniper House, from working at Star Hotels and privately run gastropubs, as well as 6 years working in hotels in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am passionate about putting the freshest, tastiest meals in front of your loved ones, from traditional English favourites as well as some more modern dishes with a twist. One of my favourite parts of my job is talking to our residents and finding out what they like or would like to see on our seasonally changing menus. I am always around the home, so if you should want to have a chat to me, I would be more than happy to.

My name is Rachel, and I have over 17 years of housekeeping experience with the NHS, where I developed and maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient care. Throughout my time with the NHS, I gained extensive knowledge of infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
In 2016, I achieved my Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, which further strengthened my understanding of best practices in infection prevention and reinforced my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
I have been working at Juniper House since 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the team. In my role, I take pride in ensuring that every area of the home is maintained to the highest standard, providing a clean, safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. I understand the positive impact that a well-maintained environment has on residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life, and I always strive to deliver my work with professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
I am passionate about supporting the team and contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Juniper House, ensuring that our residents feel comfortable, respected, and proud to call it their home.

Hello. I'm Tracey, and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone, so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team, and I like getting to know residents' families.
