My brother-in-law sadly had to go into Juniper House before he sadly passed away. The staff were amazing to him, his wife and all of the family. He had a young family and the staff went out of their way to make their visits as Happy as they could be. It is never easy when someone goes into a care home, but we will be forever grateful for the wonderful care you showed, it makes all the difference!!
Thank you for your very kind words. I am proud of the team here at Juniper and I will ensure that I pass on your very kind words to them all.
My husband was a resident at Juniper House for 9 months until he sadly passed away. In my experience, all the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Not only did they support my husband through the last few months of his life but they supported myself and my family. I will always be eternally grateful to the staff at Juniper House.
Thank you so much for your review - we are pleased that we could be there to support you all at this time.
My husband's grandfather was moved to Juniper from being cared for full time by my mother-in-law which was a difficult move for her to make. The staff made the transition incredibly easy for him and provided a great service to enable him to spend his last days surrounded by his family. The staff facilitated us being with him for many hours and nothing was too much trouble offering us refreshments and comfort when we required it. Would recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind review, although a difficult time for you as a family, I am proud that as a team we could help make this time easier for you.
As a resident, it has cost me a quarter of a million pounds in 3 years, plus I pay for my medication. I have not been satisfactorily cared for in the first 6 months especially! Appalling food, no choice, decisions made for me by a senior carer as not deemed capable! We have had no activities co-ordinator since January 2020 so life during Covid has not been good. Only terrestrial TV so a very 'locked in experience'. I shall never forget and as a result, frustration and low mood. Nothing to do all day!
The various departments from carers, nurses and housekeeping through to kitchen staff, maintenance and management are friendly and welcoming whilst professional and dedicated in their individual roles.
Juniper House feels like it now has its heart back and I would definitely recommend to anyone considering residential care.
Apart from the welcoming ambiance of the home along with the decor and facilities, it's the manager of the home and the care team including kitchen staff who make this a home I would wish to be in should I ever need extra support in the years to come. I honestly can not praise them enough for the help and kindness shown.
Thank you so much you are all amazing. Special thanks to the care home Manager, who clearly cares for her team and residents alike.
My husband was a resident for 17 months until he sadly passed away in December 2019. The management team and all staff, in all areas, are caring, dedicated and very professional. I looked around many care homes before selecting Juniper House and not one of them was a close contender. Juniper House not only offers care and support to residents but also to family and visitors. The care shown to all our family was outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending Juniper House as an outstanding care home.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in the care of your husband, he will always be a part of Juniper House and we miss him dearly.
We always enjoy a warm welcome and find the resident in good humour. There was a painting class during our visit and we saw the residents enjoying the experience.
It is always a pleasure to welcome you to our home and we enjoy all our visitors joining us in one of our many activities here at the home.
My mother is very content and well cared for at Juniper House. She enjoys the many activities available to her.
Thank you so much for your kind review, your mother is a pleasure to have in our home.
I visited my Dad at Juniper House. He has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. I don't see him very often because I live far away and find it hard to see him and very emotional. The Activity Coordinator was great in supporting me on my latest visit. I emailed ahead to let her know I was coming. She made the visit easier and gave me loads of advice on how to deal with Dad's dementia. I also thought the craft activity was great and the lady who ran it was so calm and patient. Thanks for the support.
It is always a pleasure to welcome you to our home, and we are always happy to support you at any time you wish to visit.
Just what we needed to provide a safe environment for my grandmother to enable her to slowly recover from falling. Food and activity choice is varied. No problem or question is to bug to ask solve. Very happy so far.
Lately, not great standards of management, although all issues have been addressed.
I wouldn't say it's value for money - cleanliness, items going missing, laundry (items going missing).
Most of the staff are very kind and caring.
The care for my husband has been good by carers, nurses and management. He had a difficult time prior to being here - in hospital and another care home. He has had exemplary care by one particular nurse. The only complaint I have is about the laundry facilities. Due to washing machines being broken clothes not turned around in time. He has more than sufficient items and sometimes is waiting for clothes from laundry. Needs to be updated by Barchester soon.
Mother has been at Juniper House since July 2013 and I have always found the staff caring and kind towards my mother, myself and my husband when we visit.
My aunt has blossomed physically and mentally since she moved to Juniper House. She has dementia and has steadily lost more of her memory, in the last two years but she is relaxed and content and I am sure this is because she feels safe and well cared for, she likes and trusts the lovely staff, and she is stimulated through joining in with the various activities at Juniper House and my taking her out regularly.
All the staff in all the functions at the home seem to know every resident's name and take the trouble to get to know them. The benefit of this cannot be quantified on a balance sheet but I am convinced that it is central to the wellbeing of every resident and makes Juniper House stand out from other care homes.
Every day brings many challenges for the staff, a resident is very difficult, there is a medical emergency or a relative complains (including me), but always the staff try to see and accept each resident as an individual and resolve the situation.
As I live a distance away, my visits are not as frequent as I would like, but when I visit I always find a warm welcome from all the staff.
The staff are always happy and helpful.
The home and my mother's room is always clean, tidy and pleasant smelling.
I thank you for taking care of my Mother in a sympathetic and caring nature. I sincerely appreciate it.
All staff were courteous, competent and extremely friendly and always willing to go the extra mile.
My wife spent a week at Juniper House this was the first time she had been in a care home. The first time we met the staff I thought this is a care home my wife would be cared for the way I would want, We were shown her bedroom which was bright and spotless with a large wet room. I was invited to stay for lunch with my wife and found the food very good, The family and friends came to see her that week and they all said she looked very happy and relaxed. When I picked her up all her clothes had been washed and she was smiling and looked happy. I can recommend Juniper House to anyone and thank all the staff for looking after my wife so well.
My father-in-law has recently been admitted to Juniper House. We are extremely pleased with his care. We have had one or two teething problems, his dietary needs are little complicated and it has taken a little bit of work to get this up and running, but now his needs are well met and the general standard of the food is excellent. The home is kept very clean and my father in law is kept spotless. Having said all this the most important element to us is the standard of care he gets. The girls and very kind and empathetic towards him, we find this very touching. Any problems re pain relief are responded to and dealt with quickly. Any concerns we raise are taken seriously and acted upon. We are very pleased.
Moving a loved one into care has got to be the most difficult of decisions. However this transition has been made so much easier by the overwhelming support received from the staff at Juniper House. From the start, myself and my husband have been made to feel very welcome by all members of staff, whatever their role. Only today, a young carer explained she had read up on my husband’s rare condition because it was important to her to know more about it, so that she could give him the best possible care. I was really touched by this. The food is varied and nutritious and care is taken to ensure resident’s preferences are offered. Activities are plentiful and residents are encouraged to join in and assisted where needed. I am so impressed with everything and this gives me great peace of mind at this difficult time.

Meet the Team (8)

Hello, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager at Juniper House.
I began my nursing career in 1985 as a Registered Nurse, spending many rewarding years working within the NHS across a variety of departments. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience before moving into specialist palliative care at Marie Curie Hospice, where I had the privilege of supporting people and their families during some of life's most challenging times.
In 2019, I joined Juniper House as a Registered Nurse. Care home nursing is very different from other areas of healthcare, but I quickly discovered how rewarding and fulfilling it is. A few months after joining, I was promoted to Unit Manager for our Elderly and Frail units, where I enjoyed leading my team and helping to maintain the high standards of care we are proud to provide.
In 2021, I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, further developing my leadership skills and supporting the continued growth of the home. In January 2025, I was honoured to be appointed General Manager.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and take great pride in seeing Juniper House continue to flourish. Being part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team is something I value every day, and together we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our residents.

I joined Juniper House when it first opened in 2012, and I've been proud to be part of the team ever since.
I started my career here as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Carer. I was then selected as part of Barchester's first cohort of Care Practitioners, an opportunity that inspired me to begin my nursing training.
While continuing my journey at Juniper House, I completed my nurse training between 2018 and 2021, building on the knowledge and experience I had gained within the home. In 2024, I became Unit Manager, and in 2026 I was delighted to take on the role of Deputy Manager.
Having grown with Juniper House from the very beginning, I feel incredibly passionate about our home, our residents, and our team. I enjoy supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. It is a privilege to be part of so many residents' lives and to contribute to making every day the best it can be.

Hi, my name is Naomi, and I joined Juniper House in February 2023 as the Administrator, supporting our General Manager, Deputy Manager, and the wider team. Before joining Juniper House, I gained experience in finance, administration, and customer service, which has given me a strong background in organisation and communication. My role is varied, and I enjoy helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home while supporting our residents, relatives, and colleagues. During my time at Juniper House, I successfully completed my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has helped me further develop my skills and knowledge within my role.
I am always happy to help if residents, relatives, or members of staff have any questions or need assistance. Although I don't have a direct caregiving role, one of the best parts of my job is spending time with our residents. I love chatting with them and getting to know them, and it's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team.
Outside of work, I'm a self-confessed crazy cat lady! I volunteer with Cherwell Cats Protection and have even completed two feline-related diplomas because of my passion for cats.
My office is next to reception, so please feel free to pop in and say hello if you have any questions or just fancy a chat!

Hi, I'm Naomi, and I'm the Activities Coordinator at Juniper House. I started my journey here in 2013 as a Carer and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant after just one year. In 2024, I was delighted to take on the role of Activities Coordinator, allowing me to combine my passion for caring with creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
Having worked across both our residential and dementia communities, I understand how important it is to provide activities that are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to each person's interests, abilities and life story. I love getting to know our residents, learning about their backgrounds, hobbies and the things that bring them joy, so that every day offers opportunities for fun, connection and purpose.
No two days are ever the same, and that's what I love most about my role. Whether we're celebrating special occasions, enjoying music, arts and crafts, games, outings or simply spending time chatting over a cup of tea, I aim to help every resident feel valued, included and supported to live life to the fullest.
Seeing our residents smile, laugh and create new memories with friends is the most rewarding part of my job, and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team at Juniper House.

Hello, I’m Luke, Head of Maintenance at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and became HOM at the beginning of 2024. I’m passionate about maintaining the home at high standards and providing an inviting environment for our residents, visitors and staffs.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I have been working at Juniper House as the Head Chef since 2022. I bring a vast wealth of experience and knowledge with me to Juniper House, from working at Star Hotels and privately run gastropubs, as well as 6 years working in hotels in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am passionate about putting the freshest, tastiest meals in front of your loved ones, from traditional English favourites as well as some more modern dishes with a twist. One of my favourite parts of my job is talking to our residents and finding out what they like or would like to see on our seasonally changing menus. I am always around the home, so if you should want to have a chat to me, I would be more than happy to.

My name is Rachel, and I have over 17 years of housekeeping experience with the NHS, where I developed and maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient care. Throughout my time with the NHS, I gained extensive knowledge of infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
In 2016, I achieved my Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, which further strengthened my understanding of best practices in infection prevention and reinforced my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
I have been working at Juniper House since 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the team. In my role, I take pride in ensuring that every area of the home is maintained to the highest standard, providing a clean, safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. I understand the positive impact that a well-maintained environment has on residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life, and I always strive to deliver my work with professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
I am passionate about supporting the team and contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Juniper House, ensuring that our residents feel comfortable, respected, and proud to call it their home.

Hello. I'm Tracey, and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone, so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team, and I like getting to know residents' families.
