When my wife entered Juniper House on the 17th of May 2022 she was depressed and anxious and worried about her surroundings and the reason why she was there. Over the past 5/6 weeks, I have seen her change through the care understanding and support everyone has given and shown to her and me. She is eating well now and enjoys her trips outside in the garden. The memory book was good for her and me, giving me the time to reflect and answer the questions (very therapeutic for me). Please just keep doing what you are doing thank you.
Thank you so much for the kind words. We are happy that you enjoyed your experience. You are right the team is always going above and beyond to ensure our residents receive the best possible service they can. I will be sure to share your praises with the team.
My husband was transferred to Juniper House from hospital in May 2022. He seems much happier in a more homely setting. He is not the easiest resident to deal with as he constantly wanders around, but staff seem able to manage his behaviour. We, myself, his children and grandchildren, are able to visit him in an unrestricted way which is reassuring.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will ensure this is communicated with the whole team at Juniper.
Would like to ensure dental and hairdressing services are regularly available.
Thank you for your review. I will ensure it's communicated with the team at Juniper House.
My list is endless so I have given 1 star for everything but I would give no stars if I could.
The staff are pleasant but not enough and my relative was neglected because of this.
I am giving this review for those who have no voice and no one visiting.
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you felt you had a disappointing experience at Juniper and we take all complaints at Barchester very seriously and we will be looking into your complaint.
I can highly recommend this nursing home. My mum was only with them for a short time, but they took great care of her and of my father. The staff were caring and professional. They treated Mum with dignity, respect and great care in her final days. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to care for your Mum. I will ensure your lovely comments are shared with the team at Juniper House.
This was my first stay in a care home and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Thank you for your kind comments; we are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us, it was a pleasure to welcome you to Juniper House.
In January this year, we had to make the difficult decision for my grandmother to go into a care home. Covid was rife and trying to find a home that could accommodate immediately was tricky. I spoke with Juniper House and they arranged for me to go and look around straight away. Two staff members left a great impression and albeit that it wasn't in the immediate area we wanted the home felt right. Within a few days, my Gran was in. The induction process was brilliant and we really couldn't have been made to feel more at ease if we had tried. The staff were, and are, excellent in making not only the resident feel safe and happy but also making sure the family are happy. This was initially temporary due to location, however, we could not imagine her being anywhere else now.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I will ensure your comments are shared with the team at Juniper.
Rooms and staff all very helpful, and rooms are very clean and tidy.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure your comments are shared with the team at Juniper.
Very well run, staff very friendly, made very welcome, garden area to go into lovely, my mum is very happy in there.
Thank you very much for your kind words. it's a pleasure to care for your mum at Juniper House.
During Covid-19 restrictions, it was difficult to visit but now restrictions have been lifted we can visit more easily, not having to book online. Wearing masks is still mandatory. Lovely to use the coffee area and go out when the weather permits.
Thank you for your feedback, it's greatly appreciated.
The residents seem very well looked after, clean, and nicely dressed. The food choices look very appetising. It always smells so clean, and the attention to cleanliness is very good. The bedrooms are very nice with en-suite facilities staff are very caring.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Hopefully we will be able to invite families to our dinning rooms shortly as we used to do prior to the Covid.
My mother ( and amputee) has been in Juniper for six years. Until the onset of Covid mum and the family were happy with the service she was receiving. It was friendly, efficient and had stable staffing, however, in the Covid era staffing became an issue. Staff came and went so did the manager. Care quality declined and so did staff morale. I became worried about the home and thus about mum and fees had increased her funds were starting to run low. Barchester had received over £370,000 for mums care. Fortunately, the latest manager is a very determined and caring person. In the few months, she has been the post he has got a grip on managing a tight ship and to my mind, Juniper House is now a different place, back to being the place it used to be. I am a happy relative again.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure your comments are shared with the whole team at Juniper House.
My dad has been at Juniper House for over three years now. His needs are quite complex, and Juniper House is doing a fantastic job of looking after him. There have been ups and downs over the years, and lots of management changes, but the staff "on the ground" have always been fantastic and gone above and beyond. The current management is also fantastic and has put in place a staffing structure, which means these wonderful staff can excel. I would absolutely recommend Juniper House to anyone looking for nursing or residential care. Lots of activities, good food and a really lovely environment delivered by excellent staff with very high standards, who really care.
Thank you for your kind words. I will ensure your comments are shared with the whole team at Juniper House.
My aunt was well cared for during her time in Juniper House. The staff kept me informed as her condition deteriorated and I was allowed to sit with her in the last few hours of her life, also the staff on duty at that time made my husband and I feel welcome and were kind and understanding.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure this is communicated to all the Juniper House staff.
My mother is receiving excellent care in Juniper House. The staff are thoughtful and respect her wishes. She is well looked after.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I will ensure that this is communicated to all of the staff at Juniper House.
My mum remarked yesterday on my visit, how they all talk to her like she is not silly. While it upsets me that she felt that under the hospital care previous. It's wonderful to know that in the time she has left with us, she feels understood and respected.
I hope mum will remain as we move towards palliative care. Knowing that the manager and the team will be looking after her. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is a privilege to be part of the care team that cares for your mum, I will ensure that this is communicated to all of the staff at Juniper House.
Dad came for respite and had a wonderful time. Fantastic food and entertainment and lovely staff. He's already said he'd like to go back.
I'm so pleased to hear that your father enjoyed his respite stay here with us, we look forward to having him back.
I do feel the home is a lovely place to live in - it is attractive inside and makes you feel good about a member of your family living here. My only worry is that some weekends there is not enough staff to cope with the resident's needs - my daughter is one such person who has been left in bed for too long because of this problem. Otherwise, is a very, very happy person.
I have found my daughter's home a very friendly and welcoming place. I feel happy that this will be her forever home as she needs so much extra care and I know she is liked after at Juniper House.
I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful team who do an amazing job at Juniper House in Brackley. My mother is a long-term resident and during Covid, I have been blessed to know that she has had outstanding care whilst I have been unable to see her, apart from the occasional outdoor visit which was so much appreciated. I am kept informed of her situation and am able to speak to my mum (who has dementia) on the telephone which is always available when I call the home. Not only is the care excellent but the whole team show genuine kindness, warmth and compassion. The home is beautifully maintained both inside and out and feels homely, cosy and very clean, a criteria that is, of course, important to the residents but also for the visitors. Most of all, my mum is settled and happy there which is the best feeling for me. Thank you so much to everyone, you are doing a wonderful job keeping all the residents safe during the Covid outbreak.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is a privilege to part of the care team that cares for your mum, she really is a delight. I will ensure that this is communicated to all of the care team.

Meet the Team (8)

Hello, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager at Juniper House.
I began my nursing career in 1985 as a Registered Nurse, spending many rewarding years working within the NHS across a variety of departments. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience before moving into specialist palliative care at Marie Curie Hospice, where I had the privilege of supporting people and their families during some of life's most challenging times.
In 2019, I joined Juniper House as a Registered Nurse. Care home nursing is very different from other areas of healthcare, but I quickly discovered how rewarding and fulfilling it is. A few months after joining, I was promoted to Unit Manager for our Elderly and Frail units, where I enjoyed leading my team and helping to maintain the high standards of care we are proud to provide.
In 2021, I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, further developing my leadership skills and supporting the continued growth of the home. In January 2025, I was honoured to be appointed General Manager.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and take great pride in seeing Juniper House continue to flourish. Being part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team is something I value every day, and together we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our residents.

I joined Juniper House when it first opened in 2012, and I've been proud to be part of the team ever since.
I started my career here as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Carer. I was then selected as part of Barchester's first cohort of Care Practitioners, an opportunity that inspired me to begin my nursing training.
While continuing my journey at Juniper House, I completed my nurse training between 2018 and 2021, building on the knowledge and experience I had gained within the home. In 2024, I became Unit Manager, and in 2026 I was delighted to take on the role of Deputy Manager.
Having grown with Juniper House from the very beginning, I feel incredibly passionate about our home, our residents, and our team. I enjoy supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. It is a privilege to be part of so many residents' lives and to contribute to making every day the best it can be.

Hi, my name is Naomi, and I joined Juniper House in February 2023 as the Administrator, supporting our General Manager, Deputy Manager, and the wider team. Before joining Juniper House, I gained experience in finance, administration, and customer service, which has given me a strong background in organisation and communication. My role is varied, and I enjoy helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home while supporting our residents, relatives, and colleagues. During my time at Juniper House, I successfully completed my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has helped me further develop my skills and knowledge within my role.
I am always happy to help if residents, relatives, or members of staff have any questions or need assistance. Although I don't have a direct caregiving role, one of the best parts of my job is spending time with our residents. I love chatting with them and getting to know them, and it's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team.
Outside of work, I'm a self-confessed crazy cat lady! I volunteer with Cherwell Cats Protection and have even completed two feline-related diplomas because of my passion for cats.
My office is next to reception, so please feel free to pop in and say hello if you have any questions or just fancy a chat!

Hi, I'm Naomi, and I'm the Activities Coordinator at Juniper House. I started my journey here in 2013 as a Carer and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant after just one year. In 2024, I was delighted to take on the role of Activities Coordinator, allowing me to combine my passion for caring with creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
Having worked across both our residential and dementia communities, I understand how important it is to provide activities that are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to each person's interests, abilities and life story. I love getting to know our residents, learning about their backgrounds, hobbies and the things that bring them joy, so that every day offers opportunities for fun, connection and purpose.
No two days are ever the same, and that's what I love most about my role. Whether we're celebrating special occasions, enjoying music, arts and crafts, games, outings or simply spending time chatting over a cup of tea, I aim to help every resident feel valued, included and supported to live life to the fullest.
Seeing our residents smile, laugh and create new memories with friends is the most rewarding part of my job, and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team at Juniper House.

Hello, I’m Luke, Head of Maintenance at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and became HOM at the beginning of 2024. I’m passionate about maintaining the home at high standards and providing an inviting environment for our residents, visitors and staffs.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I have been working at Juniper House as the Head Chef since 2022. I bring a vast wealth of experience and knowledge with me to Juniper House, from working at Star Hotels and privately run gastropubs, as well as 6 years working in hotels in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am passionate about putting the freshest, tastiest meals in front of your loved ones, from traditional English favourites as well as some more modern dishes with a twist. One of my favourite parts of my job is talking to our residents and finding out what they like or would like to see on our seasonally changing menus. I am always around the home, so if you should want to have a chat to me, I would be more than happy to.

My name is Rachel, and I have over 17 years of housekeeping experience with the NHS, where I developed and maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient care. Throughout my time with the NHS, I gained extensive knowledge of infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
In 2016, I achieved my Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, which further strengthened my understanding of best practices in infection prevention and reinforced my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
I have been working at Juniper House since 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the team. In my role, I take pride in ensuring that every area of the home is maintained to the highest standard, providing a clean, safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. I understand the positive impact that a well-maintained environment has on residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life, and I always strive to deliver my work with professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
I am passionate about supporting the team and contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Juniper House, ensuring that our residents feel comfortable, respected, and proud to call it their home.

Hello. I'm Tracey, and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone, so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team, and I like getting to know residents' families.
