Purpose-built care home - best I have visited. I know my mother is safe, secure and well attended - thank you!
This is an amazing care home, I can't praise the staff enough and this is not just the carer/nurses but all the admin, cooking and maintenance staff. They all give 100% and they really care and go out of there way to make sure the residents are happy. No hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.
How wonderful to be able to drop in at any time to share a cup of tea and delicious piece of cake with my Aunt. The staff are so patient with her and friends even even when she is feeling cross. The only thing I would like to improve is to have time to discuss with carers/nurses how she is getting on.
Wonderful.
The staff of Juniper House have taken great care to welcome my mother and settle her into the home. The staff are friendly, fun and caring and keep residents busy with lots of activities.
Excellent welcome to relatives. Good idea to start having a key worker.
Very friendly staff. Excellent food and helpful with special diet requirements. Good range of activities, collective and individual. Lovely garden and good maintenance. Great cake!
My mother passed away at the age of 94. Her last journey in life, with all of her difficulties, was made as comfortable as it could be possible. The staff were loving, caring, kind and considerate, not only towards my mother, but to myself also.
My heartfelt thanks towards all at Juniper House for all that was given in the care for my mother.
An area for improvement would be working with a member of staff to create a personalised care plan that we have negotiated.
Would benefit from regular, as in weekly, updates from nursing staff.
Juniper House is a pleasant environment where I feel safe and the care provided is very good. The atmosphere is lively and friendly.
Mum loves it at Juniper!
Also applies to needed dressings - never neglected.
Would recommend Juniper whole heartedly. Ups and downs due to the world of today. Below is a poem (by me) - says it all.
Making the Best of Care in Juniper House
We are in care but do not fret, happiness in store for us yet
We are all good friends I am glad to say, to be nice to each other is Juniper's way
Our carers look after us and are oh-so-kind, sweeter girls you will never find
Not forgetting and must not miss, a young new carer - makes life bliss
They attend to our needs with such dedication, deserving from us some appreciation
As this I end I have to say included in Junipers special way
Doctors, nurses and all we employ bring to the residents friendship and joy.
Genuinely caring staff. Rooms clean and very acceptable.
More activities could be provided.
Food very nice but a little adventurous for most elderly folk.
Brilliant team spirit with the manager, putting that extra mile for family and client satisfaction. A wonderful team throughout.
All staff are really helpful, caring and friendly. Nothing seems to be any trouble if you need their help. For the past few months the smell, especially upstairs, has a lot to be desired but have been informed it is being rectified as it was the carpets being urinated on. Pity it wasn't rectified sooner. Mum had wet the bed but it had not been seen to by the afternoon but was done when I asked. Mum also smelt of stale urine a few days later and I noted she was still wearing the same skirt as the day of the wet bed. There are crumbs under the cushion on the chair and bits of rubbish behind furniture. Laundry items although named go missing yet is often left with other residents. I feel overall the service is good but more staff are required and less agency staff would solve the problem.
Thank you so much for your review. At Juniper House we promote an honest and transparent approach. Thank you for recognising that we have a great passionate team who always go the extra mile for all who reside and visit Juniper House.
We are in the process of recruiting more staff to join the...
Premises still in (new order) as when home opened. Staff turnover slowing down, long term staff are brilliant. Only concern is one in four weekends no reception/security cover on entry desk.
My mother spent a most enjoyable two weeks respite at this location and looked better for it. The location was quiet, rooms clean and meals very good. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help people.
She is always cheerful when I visit and has maintained her positive, happy demeanour. The staff are welcoming and happy to chat to Mum and I when we are in the coffee lounge.
There are regular activities available which Mum enjoys, both from taking part in, and also from the social aspect, mixing with other residents.
There is always an opportunity for residents to have an activity. "Would you like to have a walk round the garden" Most residents will say yes, and off they go. There is always a quiet place you can go. I take my wife around the garden, she is wheelchair bound. Once again I compliment the staff on the upkeep of the garden.
What more can I say?
My mum gets confused with the constant change of carers, and often feels she is 'left til last'. Lately I have been surprised to receive an increase in rates - without prior notification - and it is increasingly difficult to speak to someone about an explanation for this...
Thank you so much for completing the carehome.co.uk review card as we value all feedback. We operate an open and honest policy. We were aware of a sudden drop in our hospitality service over the last couple of weeks due to unforeseen absences, which were quickly replaced. I do hope...
Since I've been here I've been very happy and have no problems. I certainly would recommend to friends etc.

Meet the Team (8)

Hello, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager at Juniper House.
I began my nursing career in 1985 as a Registered Nurse, spending many rewarding years working within the NHS across a variety of departments. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience before moving into specialist palliative care at Marie Curie Hospice, where I had the privilege of supporting people and their families during some of life's most challenging times.
In 2019, I joined Juniper House as a Registered Nurse. Care home nursing is very different from other areas of healthcare, but I quickly discovered how rewarding and fulfilling it is. A few months after joining, I was promoted to Unit Manager for our Elderly and Frail units, where I enjoyed leading my team and helping to maintain the high standards of care we are proud to provide.
In 2021, I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead, further developing my leadership skills and supporting the continued growth of the home. In January 2025, I was honoured to be appointed General Manager.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and take great pride in seeing Juniper House continue to flourish. Being part of such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team is something I value every day, and together we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care for our residents.

I joined Juniper House when it first opened in 2012, and I've been proud to be part of the team ever since.
I started my career here as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Carer. I was then selected as part of Barchester's first cohort of Care Practitioners, an opportunity that inspired me to begin my nursing training.
While continuing my journey at Juniper House, I completed my nurse training between 2018 and 2021, building on the knowledge and experience I had gained within the home. In 2024, I became Unit Manager, and in 2026 I was delighted to take on the role of Deputy Manager.
Having grown with Juniper House from the very beginning, I feel incredibly passionate about our home, our residents, and our team. I enjoy supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standard of person-centred care and helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. It is a privilege to be part of so many residents' lives and to contribute to making every day the best it can be.

Hi, my name is Naomi, and I joined Juniper House in February 2023 as the Administrator, supporting our General Manager, Deputy Manager, and the wider team. Before joining Juniper House, I gained experience in finance, administration, and customer service, which has given me a strong background in organisation and communication. My role is varied, and I enjoy helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home while supporting our residents, relatives, and colleagues. During my time at Juniper House, I successfully completed my Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, which has helped me further develop my skills and knowledge within my role.
I am always happy to help if residents, relatives, or members of staff have any questions or need assistance. Although I don't have a direct caregiving role, one of the best parts of my job is spending time with our residents. I love chatting with them and getting to know them, and it's a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive team.
Outside of work, I'm a self-confessed crazy cat lady! I volunteer with Cherwell Cats Protection and have even completed two feline-related diplomas because of my passion for cats.
My office is next to reception, so please feel free to pop in and say hello if you have any questions or just fancy a chat!

Hi, I'm Naomi, and I'm the Activities Coordinator at Juniper House. I started my journey here in 2013 as a Carer and was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant after just one year. In 2024, I was delighted to take on the role of Activities Coordinator, allowing me to combine my passion for caring with creating meaningful experiences for our residents.
Having worked across both our residential and dementia communities, I understand how important it is to provide activities that are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to each person's interests, abilities and life story. I love getting to know our residents, learning about their backgrounds, hobbies and the things that bring them joy, so that every day offers opportunities for fun, connection and purpose.
No two days are ever the same, and that's what I love most about my role. Whether we're celebrating special occasions, enjoying music, arts and crafts, games, outings or simply spending time chatting over a cup of tea, I aim to help every resident feel valued, included and supported to live life to the fullest.
Seeing our residents smile, laugh and create new memories with friends is the most rewarding part of my job, and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team at Juniper House.

Hello, I’m Luke, Head of Maintenance at Juniper House. I joined the team in 2015 and became HOM at the beginning of 2024. I’m passionate about maintaining the home at high standards and providing an inviting environment for our residents, visitors and staffs.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I have been working at Juniper House as the Head Chef since 2022. I bring a vast wealth of experience and knowledge with me to Juniper House, from working at Star Hotels and privately run gastropubs, as well as 6 years working in hotels in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am passionate about putting the freshest, tastiest meals in front of your loved ones, from traditional English favourites as well as some more modern dishes with a twist. One of my favourite parts of my job is talking to our residents and finding out what they like or would like to see on our seasonally changing menus. I am always around the home, so if you should want to have a chat to me, I would be more than happy to.

My name is Rachel, and I have over 17 years of housekeeping experience with the NHS, where I developed and maintained exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient care. Throughout my time with the NHS, I gained extensive knowledge of infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
In 2016, I achieved my Level 2 NVQ in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, which further strengthened my understanding of best practices in infection prevention and reinforced my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
I have been working at Juniper House since 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming part of the team. In my role, I take pride in ensuring that every area of the home is maintained to the highest standard, providing a clean, safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues. I understand the positive impact that a well-maintained environment has on residents' wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life, and I always strive to deliver my work with professionalism, care, and attention to detail.
I am passionate about supporting the team and contributing to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Juniper House, ensuring that our residents feel comfortable, respected, and proud to call it their home.

Hello. I'm Tracey, and I am part of the Administration Team at Juniper House. I support the General Manager and the Administrator with any communications, record-keeping or financial processes that I can help with. I answer the telephone, so it might be me you speak to first. I am really pleased to be working as part of a supportive team, and I like getting to know residents' families.
