With staff who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, Rushfields has a warm, family feel. Some of the staff are extremely long-serving, having been with the home for over 10 years.

Providing residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care, they also provide respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves.

There are so many activities to enjoy, from gentle exercise sessions and skittles, to baking and themed celebrations. The home also has its own minibus, which is perfect for trips out in the summer months.

There are welcoming lounge areas to enjoy activities or spend time with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

The bedrooms have ensuite walk-in wet rooms, with residents encouraged to personalise their rooms, with pictures and small items of furniture, to make them truly feel at home.

The local community are embraced into life in the home. From volunteers from the local school, who love to spend time with the residents, to the local church, who run a monthly service at the home. Entertainers and singers are regular visitors too, filling the home with music.

In the home’s hairdressing salon, residents can enjoy appointments with the mobile hairdresser, who visits every week. And there are also pampering sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

Home-cooked, nutritious meals are served in the dining rooms, with the chef preparing everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to homemade fish and chips every Friday. Residents can enjoy lighter bites such as freshly made soups, as well as cakes for afternoon tea. And every morning, the chef will make a delicious, cooked breakfast if desired.

Outside, there is an enclosed courtyard garden with raised beds, for those who enjoy a spot of gardening. This area is also home to Rushyfields’ three pet chickens!

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1115 and for nursing care £1274, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Excellent carers and staff - Mother likes most of the food although says there is too much at times. The room is a little small and not very secure with residents constantly wandering in and out - some items strangely disappearing over time. Mother would like more people to talk to.

As we care for residents with a range of complex needs, we ensure that new residents are made aware of their behaviours before moving in with us, so that our care home is perfect for their needs.
For personal items, residents are provided with secure lockable storage space in their rooms. We are sorry that some items have gone missing and we will investigate this to see how we can prevent this from happening again.
We have a dedicated activities coordinator onsite providing a stimulating activities programme and encourage all residents to take part. For those who prefer to spend time in their room, we offer one-to-one activities tailored to their needs.
Our home manager is on hand to talk through your concerns and see if there’s anything more we can do to support your mother.

My dad hasn't long been at Rushyfields but the staff have done everything to settle him in. He suffers with anxiety and depression as well as Parkinson's related dementia but I can see him begin to relax with the excellent care he is receiving. The team have worked with me to find solutions when he
hasn't been eating well and I have full confidence in them and in their care of my father.

Because my mother has dementia she can be very difficult and I therefore fully understand that the staff have a hard job keeping her clean and tidy. They manage her moods very well though and I appreciate all they do for her. She is very well looked after. The staff here work very hard and are very

My mother is happy in the home and with her care. We see her settled and cared for. If there are any issues with her health or care I receive a phone call. The home has managed the pandemic well and when we could not visit we could FaceTime and ring her.

I think through Covid the care my mother has received from you has been excellent. I've been able to visit in her room recently, I wasn't keen on the smell but maybe that's because I wasn't used to it. Maybe have her (my mother's) window open, especially in the warm weather.

My sister-in-law has resided here for 18-months, and I find she has settled well. She is taken care of very well, and the staff, seem to be very motivated towards her care.

My husband spent the last six months of his life at Rushyfields. He was registered blind, had dementia and some nursing needs. He had been in three other homes and this one was by far the best. It is the staff who make a home. As his wife, I was able to visit my husband and take him out at any time
of day. Staff were pleasant and helpful, always cheerful and listened to what I had to say, and took it on board. The nursing staff were excellent and were well prepared with medication in advance. They made my husband's death as comfortable and peaceful as possible, and for this, I am very grateful.

Since my wife entered the care home on the 1st of July, I have seen a marked improvement in her physical wellbeing. The staff keep us informed all the time of how she is, even if it's only a scratch on her arm. I find she is well looked after in a caring way.

Kind, thoughtful and caring staff. Improvements happening all the time from outside sitting patio to planters and the planting of border summer plants. The home does try really hard to make residents feel settled and happy.

Fully behind all of the staff, they are all helpful, extremely caring, knowing everyone's names. Cannot fault anyone, they are great, from the manager to the cleaning staff. We all think they should be given a medal for all the work they have been doing.

My mum has been a resident at Rushyfields since Sept 2019 and I have been extremely happy with the care she has received. The staff have managed remarkably well during the recent difficult circumstances and have kept me up to date with how my mum is through phone calls and newsletters, along with entertaining
FaceTime calls with my mum. Although I couldn’t be there for her recent birthday they entertained her with games and a cake. Whilst it was a very difficult decision moving my mum into a nursing home, Rushyfields have made it a smooth transition for both my mum and the rest of the family. My mum is very well cared for, offered lovely meals and snacks and seems very content in her new surroundings.

I have known my friend for over 14-years, and her family lived all over the UK.
She was always treated with respect and dignity - she was a proud lady.
The home kept me informed at all times, and of all of her needs.
I was the first port of call for her, and the home worked really well with our
situation.
Sadly she passed away last week, but big respect to the staff
