My mother has lived at Hopton for 7 months and is quite settled here. She gets on well with the staff.
She has a lovely en-suite room and has been allowed several pictures to decorate her room which the handyman has erected for her.
There are a lot of activities available for my mother to join in.
I
am always made very welcome when I visit.
It is a weight off my mind to know she is happy and well cared for.

Excellent home, very comfortable, residents have plenty of entertainment and want for nothing. Food is first class with a good choice that fit all needs. Staff are well trained polite and seem to really care about their residents. As family members, we are always made to feel welcome and any questions/queries
are answered and nothing seems to be a problem for them, this is a true home from home.

A lovely care home with well trained, helpful and pro-active staff. A lot of thought is given to the home's design and its aspiration to be a place where people live (rather than going to be looked after) is reflected in the way the residents are cared for. They are respected by the team, their various
and differing needs are allowed for and met.
My mum enjoyed her time here and as a family, we felt she was cared for in every way.

It is a very hard decision to put your mum into a care home but choosing Hopton Cottage Care Home was perfect for mum and us. The home is beautifully clean through out with lovely rooms and bright spacious lounges and dining areas.
The laundry service is very well run too. The food is excellent and
there are various activities for residents to take part in if they wish. It was lovely to see mum having a social life again (at age 91) and especially when singers came in, mum would be singing along happily.


The care given by the wonderful staff is amazing. Mum received so much love and affection which was very reassuring for us and so heartwarming to see. Visiting mum there was a real pleasure and the warmth of the staff made us feel so welcome, it was like having an extended family.


Mum spent the last 16 months of her life there and was treated with respect and dignity and much loved to the end.


Many thanks to everyone at Hopton Cottage Care Home for looking after mum.

Absolutely fantastic!


Recently my Great Aunt (82) who lives alone had a knee replacement. Before the operation, it was apparent that she would need care before returning home. We contacted the manager who runs the care home, he was so accommodating, managing to get my Great Aunt a room for as long

as she needed it. Giving her much needed peace of mind.


Following the operation, she moved in and stayed for 3 weeks (a week longer than planned as she liked it so much)!
She was really happy with the care she received from all the staff. The manager and all his team went out of their way to make her stay a really happy one. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was superb, the entertainment great and she made new friends.
The level of care was outstanding.
The rooms are really nice, lovely furnishings, ensuite facilities and patio areas.
They coordinated everything, even settling her back into her own home.
As a relative visiting, I was made to feel like it was my home too. A lovely environment that she'll miss.

The staff of Hopton Cottage Care Home made my late grandma's time here an extremely happy one. As a family, we are very grateful for the fine work that all the staff did for my grandmother. The comfort, the love, the help, the dignity, the peace that they gave my grandmother and the other that they
still give to other residents to this day is truly admirable and beyond a doubt worthy of high recognition. These staff set the high standard that should happen in all care homes. Thank you, Hopton Cottage Care Home. Thank you big bear hugs.

My mother came to the care home aged 101, having lived her life in London area, unable any longer to look after herself she was moved closer to her family and lived out the rest of her life in what can only be described as a five-star care facility. Nothing is too much trouble for the cheerful and caring
staff and she rapidly made new friends.
Sadly she passed away but was cared for right to the end.

My mother suffered from dementia and I could no longer manage at home. At Hopton Cottage, we found her a place where the environment was adapted to her needs and the staff always sensitive to them. She spent her last 3 and a half years there in happiness and security. The atmosphere is one of hope and
optimism. Surroundings are pristine, meals are excellent and the emphasis is on individually tailored care. As my mother declined, the management were sensitive and supportive. It was always a pleasure to visit and to know that Mum was in such safe and caring hands.

When I realised that it was time for my elderly mother to go in a care home I was upset and anxious as there is lots of unfavourable reports in the media about care homes. When I saw Hopton Care Cottages I was so thankful that she was going to live there. It was alike a five star hotel. My mother only
lived there eight weeks but I am so glad she spent her last eight weeks in luxury and waited on the way she was. I miss visiting the home myself as it was so welcoming and pleasant.

When my Dad passed away and Mum couldn't support herself on her own we realised a care home was the only option. We didn't like the thought of it but on arrival at Hopton Care Cottages, we quickly changed our mind. The place wasn't like a care home. It was a home from home experience. Staff were fantastic
in all aspects. They loved Mum from the start. Mum loved the home and was happy. Her room was brilliant and she was able to add her own furniture to her room to make it special. Thank you to all the team at Hopton Care Cottages, you made Mum's last few years wonderful.

I would certainly recommend Hopton Care Cottages to others looking for a care facility. Although my father was only resident for a very short time we found that the staff were very helpful, caring and supportive and made a great deal of effort to meet my father's needs. We certainly valued the home
visit prior to going into Hopton and it was obvious that it was important for them to find out as much as possible about my father so that he could be cared for, treated and respected as an individual with a long life history. It was noticeable that all the residents appeared to be happy at Hopton, mealtimes were sociable and many of them took part in activities. The accommodation and individual rooms are of a high standard and there is a relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

I am so pleased I was able to get my mum into Hopton Cottage care home. She was not really coping at home and living away I was always worried about her. She's had a second wind since she's moved there. She's gained weight and has really settled well. The home puts pictures on Facebook which is a lovely
idea. Yesterday she was out gardening again-something she hasn't done for years. The home is all focused on the residents enjoying life. It's a fantastic place. The manager lives and breathes it and it shows in the whole ethos and approach of the staff team. We all look forward to visiting and to see what mum's been up to. She has more independence now than when she was at home alone. First class place.

This is my second review of Hopton Care Cottages, my first was in September 2014 a few months after mum had moved there. Choosing a care home for a loved one isn't an easy task and I hope that my comments will reassure anyone considering Hopton Care Cottages.


Mum was very content and happy living

at Hopton, she loved the meals especially the puddings. She was included in activities, she could stay up late if she wanted to and she received excellent personal care. Since my last review, I would say that the selection of activities provided has shown the greatest improvement, all other aspects of the home have kept to the same high standard.
My sister and I are especially grateful for the respect and dignity shown to mum at the end of her life and the support given to us.

Unknown to us on choosing your lovely care cottages, this wasn't going to be how we ever imagined. It was however, perfect and just what we needed for us and our dad in his final few weeks. His dying days and hours though difficult were made bearable by the kindness of the staff and comfort of surroundings,
never forgetting the "Night Angel" xx

This is an excellently run facility and beats comparison with any other in the area. Rooms are what you would find in a 4 star hotel. Staff are compassionate and friendly. Although it is not the cheapest it offers very good value for money. The management have years of experience working in this sector
and it shows through on a daily basis. Thoroughly recommended. I have already booked my place when the time comes.

The care that the Hopton team gave my stepson in his final days of life was exceptional. The manager pulled out all the stops to allow this 54 year old man to return home from hospital to die with dignity. A hospital bed was swiftly arranged, as was nursing support from district nurses. It was the hardest
thing to contemplate how best to deliver the last 7 days care to someone with multiple needs and challenging behaviour. Yet the staff treated him as someone who deserved respect and was only ever given the closest attention and pleasure. He loved living there amongst faces he came to view as friends. After a life changing brain injury, he learned to trust and value the staff around him and he felt safe for the first time in several years. His small family have been overwhelmed with the vigilance, attention to detail and championing of one's man's case. I can highly recommend the individualised care within the dementia part of the home, as well as the quality of the communications and range of activities within the whole Team. They eased the pain of bereavement simply be being there when it counted and demonstrating excellent technical and people skills. Grateful thanks to them all.

My mother, with a mild to moderate dementia, has been in Hopton Cottage Care Home for just over 18 months. She had not been coping at home and had lost a significant amount of weight. We were delighted when she settled easily and happily into her new home, and after enjoying the excellent selection
and quality of food or some months she regained a healthy amount of weight, which has been maintained.


The staff are really lovely with her, witness her contentment and relaxed attitude amidst them. Her level of anxiety is now almost nil, because she knows that although she may not 'know what she is doing half of the time', there is always someone there to reassure her and keep her on track.


I am many miles away in Scotland, so when I do visit I tend to spend much of my time with mum, and therefore get a more accurate impression of staff attitudes and staff care. Staff always appear very polite, friendly and cheerful around residents and visitors. I always feel very welcome, and I am very comfortable when visiting mum in her new home. Her room is clean, bright and spacious, and well kept and the laundry service is excellent. There is also a very good effort made to offer a varied programme of activities, in which residents may participate if they wish.


The management staff are very approachable and respond well to queries. No business can ever rest on its laurels and believe they are fault free, but I am pleased to say that this management team are making a very good job of trying to ensure that the running of the home and communication with residents and families is efficient and interactive.


When there have been minor niggles arising these have been sorted to our satisfaction. I feel that Mum is seen very much as an individual with her own personality, and is treated with respect. She is still able to make some of her own lifestyle choices, eg. when she gets up, and what activities she participates it.

My mum has been a resident now for 3 months. It was very difficult to make the decision to move her in to a home. However with early onset alzheimer's mum needed ever-increasing support and care. Hopton Care Cottages have surpassed our expectations improving a very warm and individualised environment
where mum's dignity is completely intact. In fact, mum has really perked up since she moved in. The ability to socialise and take part in so many new activities has given her a new lease of life. We can't thank the manager and her team enough!

I'm Joseph, one of our family directors at Hopton Cottage Care Home. I've led Hopton Cottage from the start and I still oversee the whole service with Suzanne the Registered Manager and my fellow Directors Ann-Maria and Rory. I still meet everyone who is considering Hopton Cottage Care Home as their next Home. This is all part of the special, personal service we are famous for.
