My mother has been a resident for 2 years. In that time I have had only praise for all aspects of her care. My mother was a 'picky' eater and we worried that food would be a problem. I have never heard her complain and according to the staff she eats without any problems. All members of staff treat her with respect and will sit and chat. They will all discuss with members of the family if there are any issues or if they want to tell us of something mum has done. We, as a family, struggled with the idea of a care home for mum but we couldn't be happier that she is content where she is.

Thank you for your really thoughtful review. We completely understand that a move into a care setting can be a complex decision raising a number of emotions for all concerned and we are committed in our aim to give reassurance to families and those living at Hopton Cottage that we are actually helping 'Mum or Dad have a fun new life'

My 97-year-old father stayed at Hopton Cottage Care Home for six months until his death in January of this year. In those six months he was given the best care the best support and all things that gave him good memories of his last months alive.

Hopton is a care home in every sense, if it's care for a family member you are looking for look no further, you will have peace of mind.

My 80year old mum has been a permanent resident November 2016 following 6months of intermittent respite care.

Mum suffers from Dementia but as yet does not need the intense care of the onsite Dementia unite and therefore lives in the care side.

The home is like a 5-star hotel. Spacious, contemporary furnished rooms with ensuite wet/shower room. Small private terrace looking onto the well cared for gardens. I have never had a minutes regret regarding mums care, everyone is kind, courtious, friendly and caring.
Good, well-prepared food (plenty of choice) and a wide range of activities.

As a relative, I also feel very well informed and included in all choices regarding mums care.

The care at Hopton Cottage Care Home is second to none. Help is on hand almost immediately anytime night or day. The managers could not be any better. Nothing is too much trouble to anyone.

We have a wide and varied range of activities. I do something different every day. There is always so much to do. I love living here. It has been a new lease of life for me. I'm only 83!

Hopton Cottage Care Home gave us assurance that the level of support, care and love would be given to our relative during his stay with them. Our uncle was admitted as an 'end of life' resident which made no difference to the management in investing equipment and staff hours to ensure dignity and comfort was given around the clock. This also extended to the immediate family. We will forever be indebted to their kindness. Thank you.

My mother has lived at Hopton for 7 months and is quite settled here. She gets on well with the staff.
She has a lovely en-suite room and has been allowed several pictures to decorate her room which the handyman has erected for her.
There are a lot of activities available for my mother to join in.
I am always made very welcome when I visit.

It is a weight off my mind to know she is happy and well cared for.

Hopton Care Cottages provided respite care for my father - at a crisis point - the kindness we, as a family, encountered from all the staff and the care and kindness extended to Dad during his stay was excellent.

I have no reservations about recommending the care home nor in taking Dad back for additional periods of care.

Excellent home, very comfortable, residents have plenty of entertainment and want for nothing. Food is first class with a good choice that fit all needs. Staff are well trained polite and seem to really care about their residents. As family members, we are always made to feel welcome and any questions/queries are answered and nothing seems to be a problem for them, this is a true home from home.

A lovely care home with well trained, helpful and pro-active staff. A lot of thought is given to the home's design and its aspiration to be a place where people live (rather than going to be looked after) is reflected in the way the residents are cared for. They are respected by the team, their various and differing needs are allowed for and met.

My mum enjoyed her time here and as a family, we felt she was cared for in every way.

It is a very hard decision to put your mum into a care home but choosing Hopton Cottage Care Home was perfect for mum and us. The home is beautifully clean through out with lovely rooms and bright spacious lounges and dining areas.

The laundry service is very well run too. The food is excellent and there are various activities for residents to take part in if they wish. It was lovely to see mum having a social life again (at age 91) and especially when singers came in, mum would be singing along happily.

The care given by the wonderful staff is amazing. Mum received so much love and affection which was very reassuring for us and so heartwarming to see. Visiting mum there was a real pleasure and the warmth of the staff made us feel so welcome, it was like having an extended family.

Mum spent the last 16 months of her life there and was treated with respect and dignity and much loved to the end.

Many thanks to everyone at Hopton Cottage Care Home for looking after mum.

Absolutely fantastic!

Recently my Great Aunt (82) who lives alone had a knee replacement. Before the operation, it was apparent that she would need care before returning home. We contacted the manager who runs the care home, he was so accommodating, managing to get my Great Aunt a room for as long as she needed it. Giving her much needed peace of mind.

Following the operation, she moved in and stayed for 3 weeks (a week longer than planned as she liked it so much)!
She was really happy with the care she received from all the staff. The manager and all his team went out of their way to make her stay a really happy one. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was superb, the entertainment great and she made new friends.
The level of care was outstanding.
The rooms are really nice, lovely furnishings, ensuite facilities and patio areas.
They coordinated everything, even settling her back into her own home.

As a relative visiting, I was made to feel like it was my home too. A lovely environment that she'll miss.

The staff of Hopton Cottage Care Home made my late grandma's time here an extremely happy one. As a family, we are very grateful for the fine work that all the staff did for my grandmother. The comfort, the love, the help, the dignity, the peace that they gave my grandmother and the other that they still give to other residents to this day is truly admirable and beyond a doubt worthy of high recognition. These staff set the high standard that should happen in all care homes. Thank you, Hopton Cottage Care Home. Thank you big bear hugs.

My mother came to the care home aged 101, having lived her life in London area, unable any longer to look after herself she was moved closer to her family and lived out the rest of her life in what can only be described as a five-star care facility. Nothing is too much trouble for the cheerful and caring staff and she rapidly made new friends.

Sadly she passed away but was cared for right to the end.

My mother suffered from dementia and I could no longer manage at home. At Hopton Cottage, we found her a place where the environment was adapted to her needs and the staff always sensitive to them. She spent her last 3 and a half years there in happiness and security. The atmosphere is one of hope and optimism. Surroundings are pristine, meals are excellent and the emphasis is on individually tailored care. As my mother declined, the management were sensitive and supportive. It was always a pleasure to visit and to know that Mum was in such safe and caring hands.
