Overall Experience

Currently, more than satisfied with my mums care whilst here, especially given the circumstances at the moment. Certain members of staff have always gone above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and cared for. The standard of nursing has always been professional and of high quality. Any issues that have arisen have been dealt with accordingly, and there have been no issues with any of the care staff. However, I am still of the opinion that management could always be improved.

Our Dad is well looked after there. We live remotely and our rare visits have always gone well. One of the carers there has facilitated WhatsApp video calls for us to maintain contact with Dad during the coronavirus crisis which has been great.

During this very difficult and strange time for everyone, I have the utmost respect for the team who have pulled together to continue the safe care of our loved ones. We have received lots of photos from the staff and regular updates on how he is doing. FaceTime has been arranged which has been good for my mother-in-law as she is struggling the most with not being able to visit. Thanks to them all.

I have always found the staff to be kind, considerate and thoughtful. They always speak when I visit and are always keen to answer any questions. Nothing is too much trouble. They know the residents very well and treat them with respect.
The home is always clean, tidy and has a happy atmosphere.

The food is good, and there is always time for tea and cake. The home is a credit to the hard work of all the staff.

I could not fault my Mam's care at Pennine Lodge and would be highly likely to recommend this care home to others. She was there for eight years since it's opening.

I could not recommend Pennine Lodge Care Home more. The building is extremely well maintained with well-kept gardens for the residents and family use. What really makes this place special are the staff who work there. When my grandmother was well, she was encouraged to actively participate in the daily events, she loved the art and music activities. The staff were kind, caring and most importantly, treated her with dignity and respect. Thank you everyone at Pennine Lodge.

I find the care at Pennine Lodge very good. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. We are kept informed with everything that they plan for my mother and if I don't agree they will talk to me to help my decision. But at the end of the day, they leave me to decide. I don't think my mum could be any happier.

My mother has been a resident at Pennine Lodge for approximately 11 months. Throughout this time I have visited unannounced on many occasions at all times of the day. I have always found her care to be excellent. The staff are a joy all of them and she continues to be treated with dignity, patience and kindness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pennine Lodge to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one or relative.

After ten weeks in hospital, my mam entered Pennine Lodge Carlise on 9th November 2015.
In fact, this would have been mam's fourth Christmas at her new home. I am finding it difficult to express my feelings.

I can say that Pennine Lodge staff showed total dedication to mam who was treated like a friend, not just a resident. I will always be eternally grateful for the help mam received at such a difficult time.

My Mum has been resident since July 2017 and the home has provided her with excellent care throughout. They maintained her dignity at all times and treated her like a valued member of the Four Seasons family. Staff were fantastic with her, even though she could be a challenge.

My mum was a resident at Pennine Lodge for two years, during which time she was incredibly well cared for. During her last weeks the team showed her such loving care, treating her with gentleness and dignity. Not only did they care for Mum but also my dad who was a daily visitor and during her final days and hours they couldn’t have done more for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Pennine Lodge to anyone with a relative with dementia.

In the short time in which my dad was in Pennine Lodge, he was so well cared for. The staff were always ready to talk even if they were busy.
When the end came the staff couldn't do enough for dad and us making sure he wasn't in pain. They explained everything to us and even if we asked the same question over again still answered and went through it again.

Couldn't ask for better caring staff you know you are leaving your loved ones in safe hands.

The staff are absolutely wonderful, they are very knowledgeable and professional, caring and courteous to residents, each other and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. When discussing all the options to help my Mum as end of life is approaching, they were able to put me at ease and also explain in simple terms how they would be keeping my mum pain-free and comfortable, dealing with both the families and Mum's anxieties.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.

Dad went into Pennine Lodge suffering from dementia and Leukaemia for end of life care. I have worked in health and social care as a manager for 30 years and have high expectations but could not find fault in any aspect of the care delivered to my dad throughout his last weeks.

Dad received the best care and support he had in Pennine Lodge in the 9 years he had been in. Staff gave their time, concern and attention to detail. His privacy and dignity were respected and at no time did he want to leave, unlike previous services. I would strongly recommend Pennine Lodge to anyone needing high-quality care.

My wife has been a resident for 5years come December. My main criticism in that over the last couple of years the quality of feed has deteriorated to a level which at times is a disgrace.
There is very little variety and vegetables almost none existent.

This is not a reflection of the kitchen staff, who given the proper ingredients can prepare a good meal. I believe they are restricted in choice.

My father passed away in November 2016 after living at Pennine Lodge for eleven months. As a family, we took great comfort in knowing that he was in such capable and professional hands, and was treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
The Staff got to know him well and he liked them. He was able to have a laugh with them at times as they knew how to get the best out of him.

The home provided a caring, efficient and happy atmosphere. We were very fortunate to find Pennine Lodge where my father called home.

Father went over from residential care to TLC care in a short space of time.
End of life care was excellent.

He was made comfortable and was never allowed to feel pain or become distressed.
