Barchester Hagley Place Care Home

My husband was transferred to Hagley Place from hospital. The arrangements were handled so quickly and smoothly. He was made to feel so welcome and cared for. I felt reassured by the nurses team and supported by everyone working there. Sadly my husband's stay was very short, he died in very safe hands and had all medical care he needed. There was a lovely atmosphere in the home, very caring and calm. The food was excellent. I was looked after so well, I was even able to stay for the last two nights in the room with my husband which meant the world to us. Thanks to all of you for making his last days as good as they could possibly have been and for all the hugs!

My Mum has been in for some respite care. She has been well looked after. She has appreciated the kindness and support from the staff members. The level of care has been very good and they have all endeavoured to support Mum in her recovery

As a family we cannot reccomend Hagley Place enough.

Mum needed to be urgently moved from another home to Hagley Place and this was done fast and with care. Hagley Place very good, as I have highlighted, we (the visitors) are treated like a family and are kept informed/updated of any change to Mums condition. I would just mention though, that in my opinion, another member of staff is needed at certain times, especially at meal times.

Mum has been a long-term resident at Hagley Place. They have cared, loved and met her needs as she progressed through all the stages of dementia. Sadly Mum passed away recently and again the staff were wonderful in keeping me informed and caring for her up until her peaceful passing. They have been supportive of my brother and I, we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hagley who made Mum as happy and comfortable as possible in her illness.

I had an incident where I fell and broke my hip a couple of weeks ago and I could not have had better care than I have received at Hagley Place. They are the best.

My mum has been in Barchester Hagley Place Care Home since February 2024. We were all very reluctant to place Mum in residential care but she was no longer safe at home and since she has been there, we have been nothing but impressed with the level of support and care at Hagley Place. The individual support they have given Mum has been incredible and this also extends to the support they have given us when things have been difficult. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit Mum and the fact that we can take our dogs in to see her has made a huge difference to her. There always seem to be people around and different activities going on for the residents and their families. I can't say enough good things about the staff there, every one of them does an amazing job.

The team have continued to provide fantastic care and service as Mum's needs have developed. Some issues have seemed intractable but with patience, love and attention, the best experience possible has been achieved for her. Our family is enormously grateful for all that is done... Invariably well beyond the call of duty. Looking after individuals with such complex needs is very hard and the staff have done fantastically with humour, respect but most of all, everyone seems to genuinely care. Thank you.

Mum has been a resident at Barchester Hagley Place Care Home for over a year now and I am very thankful for the level of care provided for her. It’s a friendly, happy environment which is clear as soon as you step into the building to the light, airy café lounge with views onto the beautifully kept gardens. The staff in every department are friendly, positive and supportive. Mum is content, safe and secure here and particularly likes the food and enjoys the gardens and I am so grateful to all the carers who work hard to support her health and well-being. This is the second care home that my mum has resided in - in comparison to the first, Hagley Place is better. All aspects of the care my mum receives are excellent. She has dementia and can become very unsettled. She seems to be happy and content where she is. We really like the fact that the caring team remain the same people with few, if any, bank staff.

My mother has lived at Hagley Place for 4 years. In that time we have had the opportunity to observe the day to day life in the home. We are impressed by the caring nature of all the staff and how our mother interacts with them, when she asks for a hug the staff are quick to oblige. We are also impressed by the speed at which the nursing staff address any health issues and liaise regularly with the local GPs. The catering at Hagley Place is excellent and varied, Mum really enjoys the food. There are events and activities going on regularly which Mum doesn't always join in with but the opportunity is there. Hagley Place, despite it's corporate appearance has a very friendly and homely environment.

My cousin had been a resident at Hagley Place for six and a half years before passing away in February. During this time, as a regular visitor, I frequently observed a strong, caring and professional team at work. All departments work seamlessly together to provide a caring, fun, friendly and safe environment for all residents. The treatment provided is award-deserving and I'm grateful my cousin experienced such love and support throughout her stay at Hagley Place.

The family are all very pleased with the home. The staff are lovely, polite and pleasant and always go that extra mile to help if there are any problems. The home is clean and tidy and the staff always have time to talk to about any problems you have. The food is excellent even if the resident has to have a special diet. Lots of activities going on and around the home. Lovely enclosed gardens. Fully recommend this home.

My dad has been a resident of Hagley Place for over 4 years. He has dementia. I visit frequently and have always found the staff and have treated my dad with care kindness and courtesy. They have adapted his care to meet his changing needs. They keep me informed and I always feel welcome when visiting. I like the whole staff ethos with all staff members interacting with residents. I would recommend Hagley Place to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother came to Hagley Place Care Home from the hospital when she needed nursing care. From our first point of contact when the team at Hagley until the day she died, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. The staff were all friendly and approachable. They did everything possible to make my mother's final weeks pleasant and comfortable. She was always treated with respect, care and dignity by nurses, carers, admin staff and the maintenance team who took time to put up a birdfeeder for her where she could see it from her bed. I shall be forever grateful that her final weeks were spent in such a special place with excellent care. Thank you!
