Hagley Place Care Home in Ludlow is a purposely-designed home offering residential, nursing and specialised care for challenging conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

A professional team of carers are trained to the highest standards, combining effective healthcare provision with a service that supports an active and enjoyable lifestyle.

The home provides a comfortable, homely environment for up to 60 residents in spacious en-suite rooms, with access to a variety of different lounges and dining rooms.

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, Hagley Place offers a safe environment to continue living as independently as possible whilst providing support and care of varying levels tailored to each individual's needs. A lively activities programme is delivered by a full-time activity coordinator, including regular trips out in a minibus.

Hagley Place is dedicated to serving the community of Ludlow and the wider surrounding areas of Shropshire and Herefordshire.

I cannot express my thanks & gratitude to all the team at Hagley Place.
Mum moved there September 2023 and passed away 9th July 2025. Exceptional care & love, dignity was shown to my mum throughout the whole time Hagley Place was her home.

be able to thank you enough.

The bed not particularly comfy suggest senior management be required to spend at least a week sleeping in one of these beds.
The shower needs a small shelf on which to place shampoo etc. My experience with shower grab handle was hilarious, this already reported to management.
The TV was no use to
me as teletext was unavailable reported twice bit not resolved.
Bed pillow pathetic, quilt barely adequate.
Staff excellent, always a kindly word and friendly smile with exception.

Mum has been a long-term resident at Hagley Place. They have cared, loved and met her needs as she progressed through all the stages of dementia. Sadly Mum passed away recently and again the staff were wonderful in keeping me informed and caring for her up until her peaceful passing. They have been
supportive of my brother and I, we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hagley who made Mum as happy and comfortable as possible in her illness.

My mum has been in Barchester Hagley Place Care Home since February 2024. We were all very reluctant to place Mum in residential care but she was no longer safe at home and since she has been there, we have been nothing but impressed with the level of support and care at Hagley Place. The individual
support they have given Mum has been incredible and this also extends to the support they have given us when things have been difficult. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit Mum and the fact that we can take our dogs in to see her has made a huge difference to her. There always seem to be people around and different activities going on for the residents and their families. I can't say enough good things about the staff there, every one of them does an amazing job.

The team have continued to provide fantastic care and service as Mum's needs have developed. Some issues have seemed intractable but with patience, love and attention, the best experience possible has been achieved for her. Our family is enormously grateful for all that is done... Invariably well beyond
the call of duty. Looking after individuals with such complex needs is very hard and the staff have done fantastically with humour, respect but most of all, everyone seems to genuinely care. Thank you.

My brother has been in Barchester Hagley Place Care Home for two and half years. He has complex physical and emotional needs plus struggles with communication. The whole staff have been amazing at establishing a rapport with him, treating him with dignity, respect and meeting his very specific individual
needs. They have tapped into his interests, cajoling him kindly when he is being stubborn but also respecting his right to make decisions. Every member of staff, from nursing, catering, activities coordinator, gardener and maintenance team, works over and beyond to create a caring, happy environment for the residents.
The staff are constantly bringing in entertainment, music, dance, arranging activities and outings for the residents.
I always feel any concerns we have, as a family, are dealt with promptly with understanding and we are always made to feel welcome in the home.
We cannot thank the staff enough for the care and kindness my brother receives.

Mum has been a resident at Barchester Hagley Place Care Home for over a year now and I am very thankful for the level of care provided for her. It’s a friendly, happy environment which is clear as soon as you step into the building to the light, airy café lounge with views onto the beautifully kept

This is the second care home that my mum has resided in - in comparison to the first, Hagley Place is better. All aspects of the care my mum receives are excellent. She has dementia and can become very unsettled. She seems to be happy and content where she is. We really like the fact that the caring

My mother has lived at Hagley Place for 4 years. In that time we have had the opportunity to observe the day to day life in the home. We are impressed by the caring nature of all the staff and how our mother interacts with them, when she asks for a hug the staff are quick to oblige. We are also impressed
by the speed at which the nursing staff address any health issues and liaise regularly with the local GPs. The catering at Hagley Place is excellent and varied, Mum really enjoys the food. There are events and activities going on regularly which Mum doesn't always join in with but the opportunity is there. Hagley Place, despite it's corporate appearance has a very friendly and homely environment.

During this time, as a regular visitor, I frequently observed a strong, caring and professional team at work. The family are all very pleased with the home. The staff are lovely, polite and pleasant and always go that extra mile to help if there are any problems. The home is clean and tidy and the staff always have time to talk to about any problems you have. The food is excellent even if the resident has to

My dad has been a resident of Hagley Place for over 4 years. He has dementia. I visit frequently and have always found the staff and have treated my dad with care kindness and courtesy. They have adapted his care to meet his changing needs. They keep me informed and I always feel welcome when visiting.
I like the whole staff ethos with all staff members interacting with residents. I would recommend Hagley Place to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother came to Hagley Place Care Home from the hospital when she needed nursing care. From our first point of contact when the team at Hagley until the day she died, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. The staff were all friendly and approachable. They did everything possible to make my mother's
final weeks pleasant and comfortable. She was always treated with respect, care and dignity by nurses, carers, admin staff and the maintenance team who took time to put up a birdfeeder for her where she could see it from her bed. I shall be forever grateful that her final weeks were spent in such a special place with excellent care. Thank you!

My grandad was in the dementia ward for just over a week. He was welcomed by all the staff. Sadly he took a downhill turn and Sunday morning the family were warned it wouldn’t be long. All the staff were absolutely fantastic with all the family whilst we watched and waited. The care and understanding
we all received but most importantly my grandad received was, without doubt, the absolute best. The whole family have only got good reports for all the staff. And we thank them all for making a traumatic time more bearable.

I live abroad but share time here for mum with my sister. I arrived here two weeks ago with a little anxiety about what Hagley Place Care Home might be like, quite naturally. I needn't have worried. There is a wonderful ambience in the place. This is not just because of the comfort of the place but

Held a family gathering for my mother in the lounge area of the home. Could not have received more encouragement and help in providing such a wonderful event for mum which lifted her spirits tremendously! She had the opportunity to meet her family which spanned four generations some of who hadn't been
