Really poor care. Mum was moved floors away from her friends. I asked that she was taken back each day, didn't happen. She was supposed to be weighted regularly, didn't happen. She went in able to walk but was in a wheelchair within a month. Bedsores. No activities. Not fed.

My grandmother has been in the home for two years now. I can't fault the place usually, but I want to say how the team have excelled themselves in these very difficult times. With phone calls, the care has been second to none.
I'm shocked to hear there have been complaints in this extremely difficult time.

I want to thank you all, you're doing an amazing job.

My mother has spent the last 8 years of her life in Scholars Mews. The love, care and respect by all members of staff has been remarkable throughout that time. We could not have asked for a better place for my mother to be. I wish the home and all of the staff the best for the future and I will always remember the sensitivity of the staff during her final days. Thank you.

First-time respite care in Scholars Mews for my wife, who settled in very quickly. Staff were all very friendly, professional and readily available, as and when required. Apparently, all went well because the Manager reported my wife was welcome to come back. I hope to arrange a further break mid-December.

Given that nowhere is going to be perfect for someone you care about, Scholars Mews comes very close. I have been visiting the home over the last six months and I am content that my father is well looked after and happy. I have found EVERYONE, across the board, extremely welcoming and helpful.
The staff have established good relationships with my father. On the odd occasion I have dealt with the management they have been very responsive.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home.

All the staff were very welcoming and professional. From the caring staff to the housekeeping staff. My Mum, after settling in, thoroughly enjoyed her stay which allowed us to have a much needed break with the knowledge that she was well looked after. We would thoroughly recommend Scholars Mews to anyone who needs such a service.

My Mum arrived at Scholars Mews in December 2018 for rehabilitation care following a lengthy stay in hospital after breaking her leg. On arrival at Scholars Mews, she was virtually bed-bound due to a complete lack of confidence, and every time she tried to get up she suffered from the most dreadful panic attacks. However, assisted by the wonderful, caring staff, she soon began to make good progress and her mobility and confidence grew every day. After three months, Mum was mobile enough to return to her own home. I cannot thank the staff at Scholars Mews enough for helping Mum return to her usual self. They are all extremely kind, understanding and dedicated. I would highly recommend Scholars Mews to anyone who is looking for rehabilitation care for a family member.

Mum and dad came to Scholars Mews for respite in May last year and enjoyed their time here so when dad needed full-time care mum and I had no hesitation in choosing Scholars Mews for him. He has received exemplary care now for 4 months. The staff and facilities here are wonderful, his support requires personal care and physical help at times and I feel that all staff are watchful, always alert to his wellbeing. Thank you Scholars Mews!

A first class care home with helpful staff.
Very flexible as needed to move downstairs.
Food is again first class - better than most restaurants.

Would like a room where everyone gets together for meaningful conversations.

I was widowed on 23/2/18 and because of a resent coccyx injury I was unable to walk and was transferred to a local care home, this happened in Newcastle Upon Tyne. My closet relative is my maternal grandaughter who arranged for my transfer here Scholars Mews where I have no doubt I will remain until my own death.

All the staff at Scholar Mews Care Home were caring and professional. They were always welcoming in their approach to both residents and their families.

The home itself was clean and beautifully furnished. It had a relaxed ambience. The activities appeared to be well managed and inclusive for all the residents. I felt happy with the care my mother received while at Scholars Mews Care Home.
