Nestled in the picturesque village of Woodchurch, Woodchurch House is a purpose-built, 60-bed, state-of-the-art care home thoughtfully designed to support a range of needs. Set within two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the homes stands proudly on the historic site of the former Stonebridge Inn.

Located between Ashford and Tenterden, Woodchurch House offers a calm, secure and homely environment with specialist accommodation across two floors. The ground floor Care Suites cater for those with on-going physical care needs, whilst those on the first floor are dedicated to individuals with dementia. There is a choice of spacious studio or one-bedroom suites, each offering its own en-suite, living room, personal dining area and a kitchenette area where light snacks can be prepared. Some ground floor suites open directly onto the secure garden, bringing the outdoors a little closer to home.

As a new resident my mother states she is very happy. Finds all staff very friendly and helpful. She is keen to be moved downstairs as soon as possible so that she can mix with residents of a similar mental capacity as her.

We attended the home following an emergency admission. Staff could not be more helpful, they rallied around to make sure that everything was in place. The room was impeccable and had everything that she needed. We were served cream tea which was delicious. My aunt has joined in with activities and the
singer was brilliant. Everyone is so thoughtful from housekeepers to management. Thank you, Woodchurch House.

My father had an amazing time at Woodchurch House. He was very well cared for and all his needs were met. The staff treated him like he was their own family member. All departments go above and beyond. The food was fantastic. It's a very well maintained and clean environment.

We visited my dad when there was a BBQ. Oh my, what a great afternoon it was. The food was outstanding and the singer was fantastic. The staff worked very hard and the food and drink flowed. Our best part was the ice cream van, a good old-fashioned 99 with a flake! It was a brilliant time had and we
hope to join in with another one soon, weather permitting. Thank you for a lovely time. Would recommend this home for your loved one.

My mum was so well cared for at Woodchurch House. The staff in all departments are amazing. They make you feel so welcome and part of the Woodchurch family. Nothing is ever too much. We very much enjoyed the BBQ that was put on for residents and relatives, it was a fantastic day. The food and entertainment

My mum came to Woodchurch House in January 2022 following a spell in the hospital. Mum was very much underweight and dehydrated on admission and was so very unwell. The nurses and the staff have worked incredibly hard and have supported, a huge weight increase via the dietician and the care of the staff.
As a family, we cannot thank you enough for the care, dedication and effort. My mum is so happy and although she always said, do not put me in a care home, ever!, she actually loves it. Thank you to everyone.

I have visited Woodchurch House on several occasions to visit my friend. On every occasion, the home has been clean, fresh and light. All of the staff have been friendly, kind and helpful. There is a very warm atmosphere. On 18/08/2022, they held a BBQ for friends and family of residents. Such a happy
day for all. Woodchurch House provides many activities for the residents with so much thought for a fun day. An excellent home for reassurance and care.

I am so glad we chose Woodchurch House for Mum. Her room is bright, spacious and kept beautifully clean by the cheerful cleaners. All staff, from management to carers, have taken time to really get to know Mum, finding out about her interests and her likes and dislikes. This really helped during the
slightly tricky settling in period. Knowing that I can make contact with the nurses at any time of the day or night is so reassuring. When I had a couple of minor niggles, I found the manager to be very approachable and proactive in resolving them quickly. It has been a period of adjustment for us all as a family, but knowing that Mum is safe, well looked after and cared for, has made it easier. I don't hesitate to recommend Woodchurch House and can't thank all of the staff enough.

My partner has been at Woodchurch Nursing Home for nearly a year. On my visits to her, she is always happy and well cared for. Her room is spacious and always clean and tidy, as is the rest of the home I have seen. To be honest, my partner, due to her dementia can be a little difficult to look after
but the staff at Woodchurch House are (and are continuing) to provide an unsurpassed level of care, thus relieving me of any doubts or worries. This, of course, makes my "new" life a lot easier. Outside of visits, I can contact the home at any time and even speak to my partner directly, so communication is not a problem. The staff on the ground floor are excellent as are the staff on the first floor where my partner is, I have no hesitation in recommending Woodchurch House Nursing Home.

I very rarely write reviews but felt this was required. "Absolutely shocking home". My mother had been a resident for three years. Over the past year she had been subject to neglect. Her room smelt of urine and she was not washed repeatedly. She was left in her room on her own. She became more and more
distressed and unhappy. As a result, I had to get the Kent Safeguarding Team and CQC involved. The home manager lacks care and compassion and has zero communication skills. It was also evident that she had no idea who or what residents she had in the care home. How this home is rated 'Good' is beyond belief.

We are sorry that Anthony feels this about the care received by his mother but his review does not represent the situation fully. We were pleased to work in collaboration with Kent County Council Safeguarding and CQC, and the outcome of KCC’s investigation was that they ruled out neglect. They did highlight some areas for improvement which have now been addressed by training and upskilling of staff. The manager is highly experienced and has successfully managed care services for many years but we are sorry about the breakdown of communication on this occasion.

My mum has been in and out of the hospital and other care homes for most of the year. Woodchurch House was a truly different experience from the start. Management and staff took the time to find out about Mum, her personal history, her likes and dislikes and everything that would help her settle. When
they recognised that she would benefit from different social arrangements, they organised this immediately by changing her room. They were always willing to arrange for me and her friends to speak to her by phone and vice versa. They kept me informed of any changes in her condition or mental health. When I visited, I was very well looked after and made to feel welcome too. There is a highly professional approach which gave me confidence during this difficult time as I live at a distance. I highly recommend Woodchurch House, its staff and management.

I find that all staff, from management to domestic, are helpful and caring to my dad. He is always happy when I visit and is always dressed smartly. It is obvious that he is at home and content with his surroundings. Great care and vigilance has been taken during this latest pandemic for which all the

Just the fact that I feel able to post this review during Lockdown is a real credit to the fantastic team at Woodchurch House. In spite of all that is happening during the pandemic, the staff have been able to give us all of the reassurance, information and support that we have needed during these difficult
times: Mum’s former care home was no longer able to meet her increasing needs, due to a stroke.
We haven’t yet been beyond the front door of Woodchurch House. Yet we are kept fully informed and updated. We are especially grateful for the photos of the suite, which were sent to us after we had dropped off Mum’s bags, showing her personal belongings nicely laid out ready to welcome her.
All of the information and updates since have been brilliant. The staff are professional and kind, and they go beyond the call of duty when it comes to phone calls and Skype!

Amazing welcome to Mum from the hospital. Lots of information given by phone, email and Skype. Very helpful staff who couldn’t do more for her. Love it that I can log-on and see all her care information and everything that is being done for her.

Facilities, especially space per residents in their own room and generally are very good. Maybe because of the space, the interaction between the staff and residents/visitors seems to be not as strong except for parts of 'admin' staff where it is good and welcoming. My friend feels very at home and

After my partner experienced care homes on 'respite' breaks, I was concerned when he needed to enter full-time care. It was with great trepidation he joined the residents here. There is no comparison. Staff are happy, caring, friendly and attentive. Food/accommodation excellent. Social stimulation just
amazing. There is always something, music (the 60s and 70s), there's a celebration/party practically every week and nothing is too much trouble. A trip to the nearby town, visiting Christmas Lights, even trips to the local pub! Food is good, plentiful and varied. Birthday buffets, Halloween treats, takeaway fish-n-chips. Laughter, well the carers are wonderful, engaging with residents and very quick to pick up on anyone not feeling 100%. They are encouraging, smiling and distracting them. Management has everything under kid glove control, it runs like clockwork. Everyone is approachable, upfront and with a full "hands-on" approach. I still miss my partner but I'm content he is in the very best environment, receiving first-class care.

In fact, I would love to stay myself.

Jino Joseph

Job Title: New Resident Manager Joined: 2014

Jino is basically a Registered Nurse with more than 14 years of post-qualification experience in different countries and has been working with Graham Care for the last 9 years.


Jino started in Woodchurch House as a Registered Nurse and later became the deputy Manager and is currently working as a New Resident manager mainly supporting the Home in assessing the new Residents and managing the whole admission process with the support of the Home Manager.
