Myself and my partner visited his father today and we were overwhelmed by the standards of care and cleanliness that is provided.

You made us very welcome and as we are unable to visit regularly it's reassuring to know our relative is so well cared for.

Thank you!

First impression excellent. Foyer more like a hotel.
Staff all very cheerful and nothing appears to be too much trouble,
Visitors also made to feel welcome, including the visiting dog.

Would definitely recommend Knebworth.

Do not like when the lounge patio door would be kept open all the time, especially when there is pollen in the air due to my health problem.

Otherwise, I am happy overall and I will recommend the home to other people.

I have a 94-year-old mother who has been in the care home for 2 years. In all that time Mum has been so carefully looked after. She is given respect and the love she needs. It is a great comfort.

Since Care UK have come on board, there has been a dramatic improvement in every aspect. Signage, door entry more disciplined. Having a receptionist to answer the phone and check people in, with a welcoming smile. Activity ladies - brilliant. Change of dinner time much better. Food good. Staff - everyone - helpful and kind.

Cons:- weekends, not many people around.

Our resident has used the care home for 3 weeks for respite care and we cannot fault any aspect of his visit. The staff have been helpful, friendly and willing to solve any issues. The home has such a lovely atmosphere about it and we wouldn't hesitate to use again.

On my visits, the facilities are always well presented and staff generally very receptive. My father is always clean and tidy and appears to enjoy the meals presented. The general environment is calm and inviting.

I went to the care home in some distress because I was worried about the respite care home my husband was in. I was impressed from the first moment, with the reception I received - kindness and empathy and an immediate offer to help if they could. When my husband arrived, he was treated with care and dignity by management and staff alike. The rooms are truly beautiful. Everything was spotlessly clean and the facilities are excellent. I cannot comment on food and activities as have had no experience to base assessment on.

From the moment I rang Knebworth care home the team have been so kind, helpful and supportive to my family. My husband has moved to Knebworth Care Home from another residential home. Knebworth Care Home staff have made the move easy and looked out for my husband every step of the way.

I would like to personally thank the Customer Services Manager. I will never forget her kindness and understanding during a tough time. Well done Knebworth, you are all brilliant.

My Dad who sadly has to endure the ongoing daily challenges that vascular dementia brings has been at KCH (Knebworth Care Home) for just under 18 months. The genuine love, support, compassion and care that the full team including maintenance, housekeeping, kitchen staff, carers, nurses and management have shown my Dad is above and beyond. We cannot sing their praises high enough. The home backs onto open fields providing a calm and relaxing vista which my Dad, a former farmer, truly enjoys especially during the different crop seasons and summer months when he can sit in a shady spot in the gardens enjoying the view. Everyone at KCH works as a true team should, with the residents needs and comforts always taking priority. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Off menu options are regularly provided to accommodate my Dad's individual food preferences. Likewise his, now well known individual ways and needs are treated with respect and consideration. We will be forever grateful to all at KCH. Thank you.

After visiting a number of care homes in the Welwyn Area, I found Knebworth Care Home, Woolmer Green to be the best. The situation, outlook onto open fields, the very clean rooms, no cooking smells, overall cleanliness. The staff which includes carers, nurses, maintenance, kitchen staff and cleaners and laundry are all second to none. Food menus and dining room always inviting, nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The manager is in full control knows what she is doing, attends to details and has time for everyone, creating a very happy unit. On the down side, care parking can be difficult at times, also perhaps more stimulating activities could be introduced.

This was my immediate choice of home for my mum when she needed nursing care. After having been at a different home before, which was also good, I felt they wouldn't meet my mum's needs once she changed from Dementia to nursing. I am so grateful to all the staff for the way that my mum is looked after, her every need is taken care of. Staff are always on hand. There has never been an occasion when there is no staff around there are always four to five staff in proximity to my mum's door. There is always a very warm welcome from the staff when I turn up to visit my mum. The cleanliness of the home is second to none. I would immediately recommend this home without any hesitation.

When mum arrived here after 6 weeks in hospital - we immediately knew she was in the right place and shed a few tears of relief.

It was more like a home from home than anywhere we had visited. The care and kindness shown by every member of staff was exceptional.
We felt welcome at any time and mum told us she was happy and comfy.
They always went the extra mile and offered continuous consistent support to us as well as mum.
The food was so good and as Mum struggled with her appetite so many choices were offered.
We cannot express our gratitude enough for making mums last weeks so dignified.

Would recommend this care/nursing home highly.

Claudiu Lucean
Claudiu LuceanJob Title Home Manager

Hi, I’m Claudiu. I qualified as a General Nurse in 2015 in my home country of Romania. Before joining Care UK, I worked as a Deputy Manager in a 78-bed nursing home. I was impressed by Care UK’s structure and its values, which closely align with my own.

I believe a Home Manager should be reliable, proactive, supportive and a good listener. My favourite part of the day is seeing the difference our team makes to residents’ lives and knowing that we are making a positive impact every day.

One of my biggest career highlights was commissioning and registering a new care home with the CQC. I’m proudest when I see residents happy, safe and feeling part of our big family, as well as seeing team members develop and succeed.

The most important part of my role is ensuring residents are always treated with dignity and respect, while making sure team members feel listened to and supported to make a real difference to residents’ lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy football, travelling and spending time with my family.
