The carers here at Knebworth Care Home has been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. What they have done is help my mother following a fall and the physio and attention she has required has been first class. The care home is spotless, clean and very much like a hotel. I had an idea that the care home would look like this. The staff have been helpful and professional. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a care home. Whether long or short stay. Thank you for all your help.

My husband went into Knebworth Care Home for 2 weeks of respite care in September. He has complex medical conditions and I was very happy with the care he received. The staff, at all levels, were friendly approachable and professional. Any queries I had were dealt with immediately. I feel it is difficult to get to know a client in just two weeks and it was a new experience for us as a family. I feel that I need to go into more detail about my husband's individual needs to help the staff give him the best care possible.

What a lovely place. More like a hotel than a care home. My husband had to stay for a while, after having an operation on his ankle, which was a non-weight-bearing injury. He couldn't use crutches or a frame and so had to have care for a short time after leaving hospital.
The staff were lovely and the rooms and food extremely good. As soon as my husband got there, we sat in the garden and he changed from being upset and sad to being bright and cheerful.

I would recommend this home to anyone and thank the staff for their kindness and care.

My husband was in Knebworth for almost one year. I couldn’t fault the care he received. All the staff seemed genuinely fond of him and couldn’t do enough for him. He had a good room with all the facilities you would need and a lovely view of the garden. It meant I could leave him each day knowing he would be well looked after.

Knebworth Care home provided a bright, warm, clean environment when my mother and other residents were treated with kindness and respect. Although my mother was there for only 4 weeks, she would certainly consider returning there should she need longer-term care. Care staff and management treated the family with patience and respect also.

My mother came to Knebworth Care Home after having become seriously unwell.
She had previously been in hospital and now required continuing care.
My family had been increasingly concerned and when my mother was admitted into the home we had a huge sense of relief.

All the staff have gone above and beyond to assist.

Extremely pleased with the home. The way my father has been looked after and cared for has definitely improved his quality of life and I am sure contributed to him surviving well past the time he was predicted to live. It's nice to know others care and we can rely on his happiness with you. Taking a lot of our worries.

My mother has been a resident here for almost 5 years and has been treated with great care and love. All the staff from the cleaners, receptionist, bursar, care staff and managers have given my mother the lust for life at each stage of her life in the home and now at end of life she is well cared for and with such respect.

Claudiu Lucean
Claudiu LuceanJob Title Home Manager

Hi, I’m Claudiu. I qualified as a General Nurse in 2015 in my home country of Romania. Before joining Care UK, I worked as a Deputy Manager in a 78-bed nursing home. I was impressed by Care UK’s structure and its values, which closely align with my own.

I believe a Home Manager should be reliable, proactive, supportive and a good listener. My favourite part of the day is seeing the difference our team makes to residents’ lives and knowing that we are making a positive impact every day.

One of my biggest career highlights was commissioning and registering a new care home with the CQC. I’m proudest when I see residents happy, safe and feeling part of our big family, as well as seeing team members develop and succeed.

The most important part of my role is ensuring residents are always treated with dignity and respect, while making sure team members feel listened to and supported to make a real difference to residents’ lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy football, travelling and spending time with my family.
