My mother was transferred from hospital to the home, for end of life care. Although only for a short period, during this time, she was treated with dignity, kindness and compassion. All members of staff were supportive and caring.

I had excellent care and enjoyed myself in the time I spent in Knebworth.
Too many cakes offered for pudding at lunchtime - often puddings required - too much cream, pouring cream better but on the whole satisfactory. Ask patients to write down their 6 favourite meals and use that as a guide. Different
age groups like different meals.

It is a lovely place. The care and attention that was given to my father by everyone at Knebworth Care Home have been wonderful. The staff have been helpful and professional and nothing is too much trouble for them for me or my father! Thank you, everyone, for all your help. Too many names to thank!
As
my father said - More like a hotel than a care home!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a care home.

My mother passed away at Knebworth Care Home. Every member of staff showed compassion and card about my mother and me. Little touches, many cups of tea, lunch and support provided when I stayed the night with my mother. Thoughtful staff going beyond the average. Thank you each and every one of you.

The carers here at Knebworth Care Home has been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. What they have done is help my mother following a fall and the physio and attention she has required has been first class. The care home is spotless, clean and very much like a hotel. I had an idea that the care
home would look like this. The staff have been helpful and professional. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a care home. Whether long or short stay. Thank you for all your help.

My husband went into Knebworth Care Home for 2 weeks of respite care in September. He has complex medical conditions and I was very happy with the care he received. The staff, at all levels, were friendly approachable and professional. Any queries I had were dealt with immediately. I feel it is difficult
to get to know a client in just two weeks and it was a new experience for us as a family. I feel that I need to go into more detail about my husband's individual needs to help the staff give him the best care possible.

What a lovely place. More like a hotel than a care home. My husband had to stay for a while, after having an operation on his ankle, which was a non-weight-bearing injury. He couldn't use crutches or a frame and so had to have care for a short time after leaving hospital.
The staff were lovely and
the rooms and food extremely good. As soon as my husband got there, we sat in the garden and he changed from being upset and sad to being bright and cheerful.
I would recommend this home to anyone and thank the staff for their kindness and care.

My husband was in Knebworth for almost one year. I couldn’t fault the care he received. All the staff seemed genuinely fond of him and couldn’t do enough for him. He had a good room with all the facilities you would need and a lovely view of the garden. It meant I could leave him each day knowing he
would be well looked after.

Knebworth Care home provided a bright, warm, clean environment when my mother and other residents were treated with kindness and respect. Although my mother was there for only 4 weeks, she would certainly consider returning there should she need longer-term care. Care staff and management treated the
family with patience and respect also.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.735)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.735) out of 10 for Knebworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.735 for Knebworth is calculated as follows: ( (245 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 317 Ratings = 4.735
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Knebworth is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
