Since our dear dad's admission on to the nursing floor in October, we have found the care by the staff to be second to none.
Dad has been treated with kindness, empathy and compassion. He looks so much better and as a family we are very grateful and relieved. Thank you Knebworth.

Our son-in-law has been in the Home for 5.7 years with a terminal illness. He has been incapacitated from the start, unable to mobilise, feed himself, turn in bed, and has been treated with gentleness, respect, and care by all members of staff. He has not even had a pressure sore. The manager changed
soon after he arrived and has made a tremendous difference to the efficiency and atmosphere of the Home. During the pandemic, the situation was well handled for both residents and families. Before choosing the Home we explored many others in the area and this stood out as exceptional. One test we had was whether a smell was evident on entering and at no time was that the case here. We cannot recommend Knebworth Care Home highly enough. We are thankful we found it and will miss visiting. We were made to feel part of a family. We visited several times a week and were always welcomed.

I was treated very well during my stay in Knebworth Care Home. The staff were kind and helpful. The physiotherapy was excellent and I was encouraged all the way. Owing to covid restrictions there were few activities to join in but Wimbledon on TV helped to fill the gap. There was excellent coordination
between the home and my local authority Social Services so that my home was ready for me to return home to and stair rails, bath board were soon delivered and fitted and today grab rails were fitted to outside doors.

My mum was so against going into a care home but the care received from Knebworth care home totally changed her views. She feels safe, well-fed, and cared for. The staff act very professionally and with feeling. She considers herself lucky to have such a nice environment, as do we. Thank you, Knebworth.

My room was spacious and well-lit and furnished; the toilet generous and a view of railway coach roofs, very interesting to me being a railway fan. Due to my hip injury, I never left the room apart from a change on the first day. The corridor was busy outside my room and loud banging related to fire
doors. I heard regular sad sounds of those in serious trouble and gave a thought to those who minister to them. I was surprised and a little disappointed that no one spoke to me of my plight as such, or had any thoughts about future treatment. At least I had a restful time and had the pleasure of meeting many of the staff and not to forget some excellent food.

I have no words to express my gratitude to the team at Knebworth care home. My husband has been in their care for the last three months until his recent passing due to a brain tumour. The care, love and attention he received was incredible and nothing was ever too much. Their approach to all challenges
was driven by humanity, love and support for the patient in their care and their loved ones. I am eternally in the debt of the home manager and her excellent team.

My mother came to Knebworth Care Home originally for respite as I was going away but loved it so much she decided to stay.
She had a lovely room, good food and the staff are fantastic. There is a nice garden, which has French doors open in the summer, and a cafe area where we used to sit and have
a drink and everyone is very friendly. During the lockdown, we had Zoom calls, and although sometimes she was away from her family as we were not allowed to see her due to restrictions, I felt reassured that her Knebworth Care Home family were looking after her.
As her Alzheimer's progressed, Mum received specialist care from knowledgeable and caring staff.
She sadly passed away peacefully in March, but I will not forget the kindness shown both to her and my family.
She really loved living at the home.

Knebworth care home has been an amazing help to my family over the last three years. When my grandma and grandad moved on together to live at the care home, the carers and staff did everything they could to make them feel at home, safe and happy. They really did go above and beyond. All the staff are
amazing and made my family feel part of the Knebworth care homes family, thank you.

My mother was a nursing care resident for over 3 years. My mother was extremely well cared for throughout all that time which was so reassuring with lockdown when visiting was limited. It enabled me to give my family some much-needed attention. She received good nursing care throughout her time there.
Staff were attentive to both of us, well lead by the home manager which is reflected by staff staying in post, not everyone, some leave but return as they realise their preference is for Knebworth. When it was possible their relative meetings and throughout the year various social events. The home was always clean and had a relaxed atmosphere. I feel lucky that I found Knebworth Care Home. Everyone has to make their own decisions and get their own feel for a place, all my boxes were ticked.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been sent to Knebworth care home. All the staff were excellent, the therapy team that came from the NHS were superb.
Unfortunately because of Covid, my rehab was limited as I was unable to leave my room, so cannot comment on all facilities available from what
I heard, everything was superb a 5-star care home.

When I was told I was going into a care home for 3 weeks - well you hear things, don't you! At Knebworth, I was greeted at reception then taken to my well-appointed room, made comfy and brought a hot drink. The food was good, with a choice but if you didn't like it an alternative was found. The call
button was always within reach and was always answered well within 5 minutes. The friendly physio team were cruel to be kind. There was a delicious cake for my special birthday and I was made a fuss of. There was only one thing though, they couldn't make decent coffee - they could by the time I left.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.754)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.754) out of 10 for Knebworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for Knebworth is calculated as follows: ( (270 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 342 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Knebworth is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
