My dad is currently in St Fillans and so far we as a family couldn’t be happier. The whole team is lovely and the communication has always been nothing but fantastic. We love seeing pictures of him and the other residents on Facebook.

A friend of mine is staying at St Fillan, and the care she is given is outstanding. The staff are always friendly, and always greet you with a smile. There is always something going on, and the activities are second to none. All staff day and nights are always willing to go the extra mile. If I have any questions, there is always someone to give me a reply

I couldn’t be happier with the care that my dad receives. I can sleep easy at night knowing that he is safe and well looked after. They always go above and beyond to make us as a family feel part of his care still.

My grandad move to St Fillans from another home and we are all so happy with the care that he has been receiving. Even through COVID we have managed to see him through window visits. We have attended a few outdoor activities that were amazing and was so lovely to see a smile on my grandad's face. We would like to thank everyone at St Fillans for all the support they give to my grandad and our family. If you are thinking about moving a loved one to a care home, I would highly recommend that you come and take at St Fillans and see the difference they make.

What a blessing that my friend of 40 years is being cared for in this wonderful home. During these unprecedented times, St Fillans Care Home has kept my friend strong and well. When I have my video-calls, I am delighted to see her looking better than ever. The carers are warm, kind and treat each resident as an individual. The home itself is beautiful with luxurious facilities, beautiful rooms and a peaceful garden area where at present holds the social distance visits. On top of that, the home is run by an excellent manager, who goes above and beyond to make sure that the residents are safe and well cared for. As with many families, it has been a challenging few months. However, we really appreciate that the staff have been kind and patient with accommodating our regular FaceTime calls. The staff who answer the phone are very friendly. As I say, the carers themselves are dynamic and excellent. I feel confident they will keep my friend strong until we can go back to normal. Keep up the good work.

I visit my friend at St Fillans weekly, he has been there only a couple of months. The home have done amazingly during the current pandemic and I feel greatly reassured that he is happy. Staff have supported garden visits and have always been more than accommodating with any questions I have. He is always immaculately presented which gives a great sense of security. Fab place, highly recommended!

My father is in another, more expensive, care home where the environment and care standards are not as good as St Fillians. Mother feels like she's in a good hotel and has settled in well. They cope kindly with her dementia and physical incapabilities. This gives my sister and me confidence. They have also facilitated us having family birthday parties in a small reception room. This is so appreciated.

Residents are very well taken care of but activities are limited and there is no individual stimulation.

Reply from Carol Preston, Home Manager at Excelcare St Fillans Care Home

Thank you for your positive review, I am sorry that you do not feel there is enough stimulation for your mother on a 1.1 basis perhaps next time you visit you could ask to meet with the lifestyles co-ordinator so they can discuss this with you in more detail and arrange for your mother to receive some additional 1.1 activity.

The care home, on the whole, looks nice and clean, but the cost are extortionate. The staff I have dealt with to date seem very good.

On the whole, we have been very pleased with the home. Sometimes, the communication could be better on handovers between staff. The ordering of prescriptions could be made easier if a chemist more local to the home was used, as the chemist is not easy to access and new medications can take up to a week to get, which is not really good enough. However, all staff appear to treat residents and relatives with kindness and dignity.
