As soon as you enter the home, you are greeted friendly by the receptionist. The Home has excellent facilities and plenty of activities for all including gardening. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The Home is kept spotless. As you pass the Reception area,
there is a Coffee Bar where you can help yourself to a selection of hot drinks and a cake if you fancy one. The residents seem to enjoy meeting their visitors there and in the warmer days, you can have a stroll through the well kept gardens. The residents have a little patio of their own outside their rooms which is a nice touch. All in all, I would highly recommend the Home to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and safe place to place your relatives.

It was a worrying time never having a loved one stay in a care home until my grandma needed to. I have never felt more at home just visiting her. The staff are truly amazing and treat me like family which has been such a comfort knowing that my loved one is staying here and enjoying her time. I get
to hear the stories of her time spent here and can easily say I am jealous! Thank you staff and team, I know she is very well looked after.
Reply from Danielle Blake, CSM at Hallmark Bucklesham GrangeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. From the time mum moved into Bucklesham Grange, I have been very pleased with the care she has received. Mostly, I've been very impressed with how much the staff care for the residents and how hard they work to make everyone feel comfortable and at home. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Bucklesham
Grange.

Since my mother-in-law moved in, I have visited on many occasions. Always a welcoming smile from the receptionists, and many of the staff now feel like friends. I like the many activities available. I've visited other homes where the residents are simply placed in a room together and just left with
the TC all day. MIL's care is as near as you could get to one on one care, and all the carers are brilliant. I would recommend this home 100%.

I cannot thank EVERYONE at Bucklesham Grange enough. My dad came to stay for respite care and from the moment I met the customer relationship manager to look around I felt so comfortable and at ease - the place is just wonderful - homely, clean, fantastic gardens with super friendly staff!! Everyone
made my dad feel SO welcome and always was happy, helpful and my dad was so relaxed and happy. Whenever we visited, everyone again was incredibly friendly and welcoming to us and nothing was ever too much trouble. I would recommend Bucklesham Grange to anyone looking into care homes - it was just faultless. Thanks everyone

I have now been here for 12 months, I cannot recommend the staff highly enough. Almost without exception, they are kind, caring and friendly. They will go to any length to make residents feel happy and comfortable. They have become our valued friends. When I came to view the home, I was impressed by
the way we were greeted by everyone we met as we looked around. My first impression proved correct.

We had such a warm friendly welcome when we went to visit Hallmark Bucklesham Grange. We were looking for a Dementia Care home for my 94 year old uncle and within no time at all we could tell that it was perfect. The kind of feeling you get when you're looking for a new house and just know "this is
the one".
The facilities and the way it has been decorated oozes luxury but above all the feeling that the staff really care gave me the peace of mind that making this choice for my uncle was the right thing to do.
The General Manager came to say hello while the Customer Relationship Manager gave us a tour and answered all of our questions. Every member of staff we passed said Hello!
It was wonderful to see the Dementia residents engaged in every area we visited supported by the staff.
What a great place!

This does not feel like a care home. It is so friendly and a pleasure to visit. It is expensive but you can see the difference in this home and others. Sometimes the meals are not 100% but you only have to mention and you feel assured it will be put right. To me, it feels like a cruise on land. Staff
are like friends and it's nice to see staff are appreciated and residents are respected. The whole surroundings of the property are so homely and a big thing with no smell. Thank you all.

Exemplary care, devotion and love for my 89-year-old father who went to Bucklesham Grange with complex health needs for the last 6 weeks of his life. The attention to Dad's needs was wonderful and to the family reassuring and comforting. After looking after Dad in my own family home for 4 years to find
somewhere that cared for him so completely was such a relief. I cannot rate the staff highly enough. They treated dad with dignity at a very difficult time whilst engaging with him and smiling with him to the end. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to them all.

My mother was struggling with early signs of dementia in 2019 and finding living at home increasingly diffult. After another health episode it was agreed it was in her best interests to move to a care home. I visited Bucklesham Grange, was very impressed and decided it was the best place available in
the area.
The home itself is modern, clean and welcoming. The standard of care given to my mother during her almost 5 years there has been nothing less than exceptional. They seem to treat residents with care and provide the emotional support that is desperately needed. They are always looking at making my mother's life better and I've little doubt that their care and attention to detail has extended her life.
They have a dedicated dementia care manager who keeps in touch with me and has suggested several ideas that have helped my mother enormously.
Moving a loved one to a care home is a huge decision but the team at Bucklesham Grange make that decision a lot easier.

Very disappointing, dad did not receive the care he was expecting. His shower did not work for the duration of his stay. The curtains were hanging off and even though reported it took over a week and a further complaint for them to be put right. Dad fell in the bathroom and waited 28 minutes for someone
to help him.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.675)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.675) out of 10 for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.700 for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is calculated as follows: ( (192 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.7
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
