Bucklesham Grange staff have made the stressful move from home to care as smooth and trouble-free as possible. No question was too small to be answered and I was always aware that my mothers care, feelings and personal tastes were of paramount importance. Mum has struggled to settle but I know that
she is being cared for in the best possible way. A real family feel with friendly staff.

Bucklesham is an outstanding care home. It provided happiness, security and comfort to my mother in the last two years of her life. The dementia care and support received was unstinting, considered and loving.

The staff at Bucklesham were wonderful: kind, fun and professional. They supported the

family with dignity and patience, in a way that we will always remember.

Their care was exemplary.

This is a special care home, where the staff are valued and where a passion for making the most of life transfers itself to every aspect of the daily care provided.

My mum said to me once 'I feel so lucky to be here.'

I cannot recommend it highly enough as it presently staffed and run.

After 14 weeks of being bedridden at home, my mother moved to Bucklesham Grange Care Home and was up in a chair the same day which was lovely to see. She has been a resident for 6 weeks now and has gone from strength to strength and has required a zest for life. All the staff are caring, helpful and
have an extremely positive can do attitude. The home is welcoming and cheerful and I really look forward to my visits and seeing my mother so happy. The food is great too!

I have found Bucklesham Grange to be very welcoming. The first thing I noticed was the staff smiling and saying hello to us, not just those showing us round, but everyone.
My mum was very nervous when she arrived but the staff took the time to chat with her and made her feel at ease.
Her room is
beautiful, like a hotel, with access to a garden area in the summer, which will be fantastic for sitting out, enjoying the plants and the fresh air.
It is wonderful to hear mum say how happy she is.

My father-in-law became a resident at Bucklesham Grange in April 2016 after having a massive stroke which left him needing 24 hour nursing care. Sadly he passed away just after Christmas 2016. Throughout his time there, he was treated with the utmost dignity and surrounded by a group of staff caring
for him in a most professional and thoughtful way. As a family, we were always welcomed and treated in an exemplary way. The surroundings and activities which we saw taking place indicated that this was a vibrant environment for care to be provided. During his last few hours, we couldn't fault the way in which both he and the family were treated. Thank you so much on behalf of all of us.

Not only does Bucklesham Grange look amazing it is amazing. The admission process was handled with compassion and understanding for both my mother who is a dementia resident
and the rest of the family are such an emotional time. Initially, a carer was with my mother 27/7 for the first few days until
she settled and was less anxious. Within days all the staff knew my mother and her personality and offering so much support as she needed. Within two weeks she is happy settled and enjoys all the enthusiastic entertainment and even has had an outing to Felixstowe, Being in such surroundings and having the stimulation which suits her needs has improved here deterioration quality, We have no doubt my other is in the best place for her and

All the staff at the home are very kind, friendly and anxious to help both my mother and myself where possible. When hospital visits are required, transport and help is arranged and mum is always ready to be collected. Recently we haver had some items from her home, including pictures, brought in and
these were quickly put up and arranged to mum's satisfaction. Medical issues are effectively dealt with and the doctor called as well as myself on each occasion.

My mother moved into Bucklesham Grange in September 2015. She was immediately made to feel welcome and part of the community. There were numerous activities for mum to take part in and the care home staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The surroundings both inside and in the gardens are stunning
and well maintained. Mum passed away in the care home and staff were absoloutley wonderful and caring both to my mum and myself. I cannot recommend Bucklesham Grange highly enough.

My mother had a stroke two years ago, she has been at Bucklesham Grange for 18 months and has remained in bed for the last year or so. This is her choice as she finds hoisting uncomfortable and somewhat undignified. The support and care from the staff at all levels has been superb. These are always
difficult times and I know I can rely on the home to act on her best interests at all times.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.675)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.675) out of 10 for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.700 for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is calculated as follows: ( (192 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.7
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hallmark Bucklesham Grange is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
