The accommodation is very good. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff are always very helpful and look after my aunt very well especially when she fell and broke her hip. I would recommend this care home, so many thanks for all your support.

My dad had been a resident here for almost a year. He has always been treated extremely well and always with dignity and respect. The staff and managers are all brilliant and share a great sense of humour with him. Everyone is extremely helpful and kind to residents and family. Any problems are always dealt with effectively and professionally - nothing is too much trouble. My dad is very happy here and we feel that he is happy, reassured, safe and well cared for. Many Thanks

My mum has been a resident at Bartley Green Lodge for 16 months and the care and kindness she has been shown is outstanding. Treating people with early dementia is very challenging but all the staff are very professional and kind. Mums needs have changed quite considerably since she first moved to Bartley Green Lodge but all carers, kitchen staff (wonderful food) and management have met all her requirements with kindness and compassion. As a family, we couldn't have chosen a better care home for her.

Thanks to all at Bartley Green Lodge.

All the staff are extremely helpful and respectful at all times to residents and family members. Maybe if a member of staff could be moved down to the ground floor to aid in the mornings, that would be beneficial.

This is an excellent care home where all the staff are committed to providing a high standard of care. There is a programme of activities available which residents are encouraged to take part in and suggestions for other activities are reviewed for suitability. Hairdressing and chiropodist services are available on site at very reasonable fees. The food provided is nutritious and residents likes and dislikes are looked after where possible. I have observed the care given to individuals on my regular visits and am impressed with the watchfulness of the staff who quickly pick out individuals who may be a bit down and give them prompt attention. My mother who is 95 years old has had 2 falls which were both dealt with appropriately and I was notified very promptly in both cases.

My mother has been a resident here since April 2016. She is well cared for and staff always communicate with me if she needs additional support of if she seems unwell. Food is good and varied, hygiene and facilities excellent. Above all, it is friendly and relaxed and the residents are treated with dignity and respect. We chose this care home after rejecting many others we have not regretted that decision.

The care home has provided good care for my mom. They keep me informed of any issues that arise and in turn, they deal with my queries promptly. My only negative comment is that it would be nice to see the residents taken outside occasionally.

My mother has been in this care home almost seven weeks. She has settled very well with the help of a very friendly caring team of carers. Nothing is too much trouble and they take a genuine interest in their residents. They are always cheerful and very hands on. When I visit they keep me up to date with information on my mother's care.

The home is kept clean and tidy with the exception of the inevitable aroma of urine at times in the hallways . This is a little off-putting and embarrassing if I take visitors particularly young children who are quick to comment on such things.

On our visits to Bartley Green Lodge we have found all staff very courteous and friendly, nothing too much trouble and put themselves out for residents and visitors. Rooms are excellent, everything you could possibly need, furnished to good standard. I found residents garden could be given a bit of a lift, more seating and more flowers but adequate. Lounge areas very pleasant with staff in attendance. Food cannot really comment, brother enjoys breakfasts and does seem to be happy in general, security systems seem very satisfactory for residents safety, value for money, seems quite expensive but it's individual families decision what they can afford. I have not seen any actitivities my brother has taken part in.

Reply from Joanne Sheppard, Deputy Manager at Bartley Green Lodge Residential Care Home

Thank you for your review - I am pleased to say that we had already planned for the garden to have a facelift, which starts in two days’ time. We will be replacing fence panels, improving furniture and planting more flowers, as well as creating a new sensory garden. I’m sure you will notice a big difference.”

Took a couple of days to settle nan in, both herself and the staff in terms of helping her shower etc, but once sorted the care has been excellent. Lovely staff and nice home. Could maybe encourage activities more in the home.

Staff are very open, friendly and knowledgeable and I feel they take great pride in delivering the absolute best quality care, and are passionate about looking after my nan as an individual, with individual needs, likes and dislikes.

The homes is clean and very well looked after, and residents are kept occupied with various activities throughout the week and are treated with respect. The food and drink provided is also excellent. Overall, the home is outstanding and I feel lucky to have found such a great place for my nan to live.

I love working here because we are all here for the right reason – it’s not just a job we truly care for the residents and it’s such a special place. It's like a second home here and I feel happy to come to work in the morning. I know the residents have a lot of faith in me and as soon as you walk onto the floor in the morning they smile.

As long as I know our residents are happy, I am happy. It’s such an achievement to know we are supporting our residents to have such a good quality of life here.

I love my job – this is home to me and the residents mean everything. You get to know their personalities and their little quirks – the banter and laughs you have with them are so lovely. I love this home.
