It was with some trepidation that aged 91, my mother decided to move into a care home. She had been married for 64 years until dad died last year and lived in the same house for 54 years. Without dad, mum was very lonely and vulnerable and despite all the efforts of a family, mum became anxious and depressed. We looked at five homes and from the first minute we entered Mugdock House Care Home we knew it was the right place for mum. It's difficult to describe just how wonderful all the staff are. Mum is extremely well cared for by exceptional carers who are bright and friendly at all times. The activities programme is varied, enjoyable and well organised. The food is delicious and mum enjoys having company throughout the day. She is no longer anxious or depressed. I can recommend Mugdock House Care Home to you without reservation.
Clean and pleasant and helpful staff. Mum settled in well.
My mother is very happy at Mugdock House Care Home. The staff are all fantastic - so kind - and I always feel whenever I visit. I cannot speak too highly of Mugdock Home. A lovely place.
Mugdock House is widely acknowledged as the outstanding care home in this area. The staff and management are unremittingly cheerful, caring and tolerant. The standard of care is excellent and meals and mid-morning and afternoon tea breaks amply supplied from a capable kitchen. Security is taken very seriously as is the physical well-being of residents. Mental stimulus is supplied via activity sessions, outings to local cultural events and internal entertainment sessions from local talent. All are greatly appreciated. It is difficult to come up with any additional care contributions which might be added but the management is surely trying to do so.
We were most impressed with the friendliness of the management, the standard of the accommodation being offered and the very friendly and efficient manner of the staff attending the residents. My brother has now been in the home for approximately six weeks and we are very happy and grateful for the care and attention he has received to date.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad to hear that your brother has settled in well and for your kind words about our staff.
My husband and I are very pleased with the way our relative is being cared for, she is spotlessly clean, the home is well maintained, they are all lovely. This is very important to us.

My Aunt has settled in after 6 months and is very content with accommodation, food, care and facilities. She is 97 years and after a difficult period at home and alone and thereafter 4 months in hospital after suffering a broken neck from falling, she is in a comfortable, caring and secure environment.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad that your Aunt has settled in and is happy.
A very positive experience helping my friend to settle. The staff and management were very understanding and caring to my friendly and to family and friends.

Caring, clean plus they have fantastic staff. Mum now bedridden and has dementia. She is so well looked after and I never have to worry. Staff brilliant and I know all of them by name as they do me. It's like having an extended caring family. I do not live nearby but have no concerns about her welfare, no matter when I arrive mum always smells fresh, clean bedsheets and clean clothes etc.

All staff are professional and caring. Very welcoming atmosphere. Everyone who dealt with mum was very patient and understanding of her frailties. It is lovely that everyone recognised me and remembered my name too. This gives me even more confidence that all staff are vigilant and interested in their clients. Hair/beauty facility is well run and comfortable and welcoming for everyone.

My aunt first arrived as a resident of Mugdock House Care Home in June 2014 after being in another nursing home for five months, before coming to stay in Scotland Aunty lived for 55 years in New York. By the time we brought Aunty to Scotland we realised that she needed 24/5 care. The first nursing home was not suitable and we were recommended Mugdock House Care Home which on my first visit could have moved in myself. It was beautiful and staff were great. Aunty has been her two years and we are still delighted with the care she has and still is being given. I have and still do tell people about how well it has been run and how the residents are so well looked after.

Mugdock Care Home has been great for my sister, she is very happy and well looked after and the staff are wonderful. No complaints about anything. From the moment on entering the home we were greeted by staff with such a lovely welcome.

My mum and dad are both in Mugdock House, dad first then mum. Their needs are different but have both been accommodated as individuals. When I speak to the staff they are always positive but honest. The facilities are bright and comfortable and there are several age-appropriate activities and residents are encouraged to take part in. The staff made a huge effort to accommodate my mum after she fell ill, as she just wants to be with dad. It feels reassuring to know that they are getting the best possible care in an environment close to their home where their friends, family and neighbours can visit freely.

Dad appears happy and content. The care is of a very high standard. The food is also excellent. Overall an excellent care home. Activities appear to be varied but dad does not participate in any of them so can't comment.
Mugdock House continues to provide an excellent service on a consistent basis. My mother is very happy and well cared for. Outstanding staff.
