Groveland Park care home in Bexleyheath takes pride in offering residents luxury living and exceptional care. Opening in late 2013, Groveland Park has been given a carehome.co.uk Top 20 Award for London in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The home provides residential, dementia, day and respite care in a wonderful setting, with the home surrounded by private gardens.

The home is tastefully decorated and boasts large bedrooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms, along with generously proportioned lounges. There’s plenty of space to take time out for yourself or join in with the fun at Groveland Park.
Staff encourage residents to take part in a variety of social activities, organised by the dedicated events coordinator, making film nights in the cinema room, jazz nights in the bistro and wine-tasting sessions in the dining room a regular occurrence.

The pricing policy at Groveland Park is all-inclusive, and a single weekly fee covers all care, all facilities and all events. This includes the bar bistro, fine dining and entertainment.

Our mum came here in June 2017. She is very head strong and very difficult. As a family, we are very happy with her care that she is receiving and couldn't imagine her going to any other home.
We would recommend this to any other family. Brilliant.

Mum came into Groveland Park Care Home and was not an easy lady to deal with. I must say what a lovely caring place to spend the rest of your days. Cannot fault anything with this care home - absolutely amazing.

This home is very very friendly with the most helpful staff. My brother has been in there 2 years and it's like staying in a 5-star hotel.

I really can not praise Groveland's enough for their care. The love and care all the staff showed my Nan was simply outstanding, nothing is ever too much and they will always go out of their way not only for the residents but for their family also. I would not hesitate in recommending Groveland's to
anyone.
I know after visiting many homes not only in the local area but further afield, you will be hard pushed to find somewhere as professional, caring, clean and safe as Groveland's. They are simply wonderful! :-) - Thank you!!!

My friend appears to be quite happy at Groveland Park. She particularly enjoys the bus rides out with occasional supervised shopping trips and also the bus rides around and about. Also the monthly musical concerts. Staff sit down with residents to encourage them in cognitive therapy. The layout of the
dining and day room gives a homely and cosy feeling where residents can sit in armchairs that are around a coffee table and opposite each other which encourages more conversations.

My father is 91 and before Christmas broke his hip at home. I decided to pick Groveland Park as it provided care with dignity and lots of activities available to the residents and their families are always welcome. The staff are kind and thoughtful and treat dad with dignity. They are also very friendly
with visiting relatives. The home is spotless and does not smell. Residents are not left alone if they are unwell and are encouraged to eat and drink. The food is also good and nutritious. This was the third home I visited and was my only choice as the others did not come up to scratch. The manager is very approachable and nothing is too much bother. She takes great pride in the home.

I visited my friend on Friday 16th of December. There was entertainment on the middle floor, all residents were singing and really enjoying themselves creating an excellent atmosphere. All staff were happy and very welcoming. After I stayed and had supper, the food was lovely and staff are very friendly.
My whole experience was great, I left feeling very fulfilled. This was my first visit to the home and I can assure you I will make plenty more frequent ones.

I found Groveland Park very welcoming, it was bright, the decoration was plain but restful, the artwork great to look at. The staff were very smart and caring to the residents. I found their rooms of a spacious size. I didn't feel cramped, it was very peaceful - dining rooms and lounge were well furnished.
People looked happy, I saw a gentleman engaged in his room doing a puzzle. All residents seemed content, my friend is very happy here.

My father went to Groveland Park in January 2016. The staff there 'think'. They are a proactive team that have the ability to anticipate things and react appropriately. They honour the dignity of their residents whilst providing care necessities without being intrusive.


Groveland Park encourages

a communal spirit by providing activities that stimulate memory and to appeal to the era of the residents, hence giving them a life. They occupy their residents with daily occupations and daily interests providing quality of life for people in their later years, without emptiness.


They take care not only of their residents but of their relatives and friends too, making sure both are cared for in a friendly and welcoming way, but at the same time, giving them the option of privacy and independence.
Their facilities are exceptional with terraces to sit out on, bistros for a family chat, hairdressing salon, a cinema and a private dining room for family meals for special occasions.
They keep families well informed and allow them to still be part of the care plan for their loved ones. I give thanks that my father is so well taken care of.

From the first day my husband went in we have received friendly care from every member of staff. It is always spotlessly clean and so are the residents. All treated with love and care for their individual needs. Total respect is paid to all and discretion. Food is excellent and suitable entertainment

My dad has been a resident in Groveland park for about 10 weeks. Since his arrival he has been made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and his immediate needs are being well met. There were a couple of teething problems with his Sky TV/telephone but these were sorted
out reasonably quickly. His room has now been personalised with a door name etc. Activities are plentiful which he can participate in if he wants to. My only criticism is that I have never been introduced to the manager (nor has dad) so there has been no communication as to how he has settled in nor has he been able to express is own feelings about this, so I can only assume that the home is happy about him as a permanent resident.

When our father passed away in May 2013 it became necessary for our lovely Mother to be found a caring home to live in as she was in no condition to look after herself being 92 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease. My brother and I inspected six local care homes none of which we felt were quite as
nice as we were hoping for. A reluctant decision was provisionally made to select the best available but we still had one more to see, having spotted an advert in a local paper. An appointment was made and we arrived at GLP not expecting to find a Care Home much different to the ones already seen. How wrong we were! From the moment we entered the building it was apparent this home was as far removed from those already seen as it was possible to be. The home had only been open about three months and was, and remains still in "show home" condition, resembling more a bright, clean, modern hotel than a care home. Without hesitation a room was selected from the many unused rooms available and Mum soon became a resident. Naturally this was not without its difficulties but without exception the staff went to great lengths to settle Mum in. Sadly Mum passed away just before the New Year after two and a half years residency. I can totally recommend GLP without hesitation, in the time Mum was there we saw Mum blossom and seemed to lose ten years due to the excellent care and company, not to mention the on site hairdressing salon. To lose a loved one is of course sad but we honestly feel Mum could not have had better care anywhere. Finally the hospitality of the home is outstanding, any food or drinks served in the Bistro is at no charge to visitors and is of restaurant standard. We will miss our Mum but will also miss seeing the lovely staff who made us feel part of a family. Our heartfelt thanks to all past and present staff.

Caroline Cheeseman

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2022

Caroline Cheeseman began her career in the care industry 20 years ago in the NHS enjoying her role as a Care Assistant in A&E where she worked for 5 years. She then transferred to the private sector as a home manager where she has cared for residents with nursing, residential and dementia needs adopting a person-centred, holistic approach to support physical and mental wellbeing.


Caroline is very much a hands-on manager who prides herself in getting to know each resident and their family to ensure that the best level of high-quality care and support is provided to everyone, believing that our residents are at the heart of everything that we do.
