Both Mum and Dad went and stayed at Grovelands for two weeks of respite care whilst my brother and I were away on holiday. The level of care provided was excellent and I felt completely confident that they were both happy and safe. Mum loved it so much she wants to just go back and be there permanently!
The staff were lovely and treated them with kindness and respect.

It was our first visit to my grandmother with my young daughters today since the pandemic kicked off. And such was our experience I felt compelled to leave this review.
From before we entered the door, the smile and welcome and standard of “customer/client care” was exceptional. I understand it was
two staff members that looked after us from reception to being set up in the bistro. Both of them, I felt, went above and beyond and made the experience exceptional. We have asked Groveland management to let them both know the difference it makes. They were attentive without being over the top but also offered things and a service that was beyond what I’ve experienced before, even with their previous very high standards. Thank you, Groveland, please continue the great work.
Reply from Demi Fuller, Manager at Groveland Park Care HomePeter thank you so much for your review. I will pass on your kind words to the team. We hope to see you again soon.

My sister first came to stay at Groveland at the end of September 2021. I needed help with her as my husband was facing major surgery. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding.
After ten days at Groveland, she was so happy that she agreed to stay permanently.
I have nothing but
praise for every member of staff. I have always been met with smiles and, I feel they are always willing to go the extra mile.
There is a full programme of interesting activities every week and varied outings which, I know, she loves.
The food is of a high standard and individual needs are catered for.
All in all, I can't think of anywhere (given her needs), that I would rather her be.
I know she is safe and above all happy.
Heartfelt thanks to every member of staff.

Our mother has been a resident in Groveland Park for 9 months now and we have seen a number of changes in the management team within that time. We are very happy with the team now in place and find them approachable, accommodating and very supportive. They in turn are supported by a great team, who
have shown our mum nothing but the greatest respect and care. It's a huge peace of mind for us that she is so well looked after and if we do have any concerns about Mum's health and wellbeing they are there with reassurance and assistance.

My mum has been a resident in Groveland Park for just over a year now. All the staff are absolutely lovely and very kind to my mum, me and sister. They have been under a huge strain this last year with all the Covid rules and regulations, with the added pressure of members of staff having to isolate,
yet still maintain the standards and kindness. Today, I had the pleasure of eating lunch with my mum and sampled the residents’ meals first-hand. The haddock melted in the mouth and the peach sponge was delicious. I leave the home after visiting knowing my mum is in very safe hands.

My mother became a permanent resident in December 2021, after a period of respite care. She is absolutely loving being there, the staff are very friendly and caring, they do not push her into joining in the many and varied activities but support her decisions.
Often when I am on the phone with her,
members of staff come into the room and I can hear them laughing and joking, they treat her as if she was a member of their own family.
Of course, there have been a few minor problems but they have always been dealt with promptly.
Our family are so pleased that we chose Groveland.

My mum moved into her new residence last week. The manager and her team have been very friendly and helpful from the start. They have made the upheaval of moving from the family home so much easier and made Mum feel at ease with everything. They carry out their day to day duties in such an informal
way that it pretty much feels like home from home.
Thank you to the manager and your great team (family).

I was very impressed with how welcome Groveland's staff made my neighbour feel and the time they have since taken to get to know her. She was quite anxious about going but has settled well and has had nothing but praise for all the staff. She is enjoying all the activities and says she feels very much
“at home” there. It is a delight to see her relaxed and happy and to know that any queries or concerns will be discussed and addressed if required. It is a joy to visit her there.

Grovelands has undergone a number of staff changes recently with a completely new and capable management team now in place. Issues relating to the Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions on visiting have been difficult on everyone but I have found the present team very accommodating. I was able to attend
a hospital appointment with my resident mum - we were driven by the deputy who had arranged for packed lunches which we all enjoyed together outside in the sunshine. All current staff are approachable, caring and very friendly. Their dedication is evident. These are early days but the signs are all positive. For those of us who have very long distances to travel in order to visit our loved ones, trust in those who care for them is vital. I will submit a further review in six months.

After viewing several care homes we settled on Groveland Park. At our initial visit, we found all the staff so friendly, we were allowed time to view all the facilities without any pressure. Our aunt is now in the home and she does not stop telling us just how well she is treated by everyone.

This year I have found it difficult to answer this review due to lockdown and not being able to see my partner. The home, I find is an expensive provision that can offer a lot, but yet, the reality of that for me and my family communication has not been satisfactory and felt shut out at times. This
last year, I personally have noticed a vast deterioration in him and looking very sad at times, especially when he has not been shaved for three days - and, sometimes his attire is not good. I feel that maybe they should have more carers. His glasses and watch (one only brought at Christmas) have been missing over the last few months, though I have asked about these items many times.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.628)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.628) out of 10 for Groveland Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 35 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.628 for Groveland Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (303 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 395 Ratings = 4.628
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Groveland Park Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
