Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or
appointments not covered by the NHS, toiletries, newspapers or magazines, any over the counter
medications that a GP wouldn’t normally prescribe such as paracetamol and indigestion relief, and any
other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.
These prices are only a guideline, please contact Cairdean House to find out the exact price for your requirements.
If you choose a care home based in Scotland, you may be eligible for the Scottish Government's Free Personal Care funding of up to £248.70 per week (if you are over the age of 65) and Free Nursing Care funding of up to £111.90 per week. This support is is not reflected in this fee amount.

We are delighted with the positive comments and scores for the care and support we provide and we are grateful for your constructive feedback. We recognise that there has been some staff turnover over at the home, however, this has improved in recent months, as has our use of agency staff, and we now have a strong, stable team in place. We are also doing as much as we can to keep staff within the same suite, thus providing continuity of care. We do provide a full and varied activity programme for residents and we are always looking for ways to improve our offering. Our lifestyle team will be working closely with each resident over the coming months to understand what new activities they would like to see incorporated in the programme. Your feedback is important to us so if you have any further suggestions to help with this, please do pass these on to the home manager.

We are delighted with the positive comments and scores for the care and support we provide and grateful for your constructive feedback. Our chefs always ensure a range of fresh vegetables are available to residents during mealtimes, however, we will be pleased to carry out a resident survey regarding vegetable choices to see if this can be improved upon.
Every aspect of the home’s design has been carefully considered to support residents who are living with dementia and ensure they do not become confused and intimidated by their surroundings. The subtle tones were selected to promote a calm and relaxed atmosphere, while contrasting colours have been used for carpets, doors and handrails to help residents navigate around the home safely.

The prices at Cairdean are comparative to other care homes in Scotland and are typical for the facilities and care we offer. We are sorry to hear that the activities did not meet your expectations. We do offer a full and varied activities programme at Cairdean and encourage all residents to take part. We endeavour to ensure that residents get out as much as possible by scheduling outing typically three days a week. Your feedback is important to us and we would very much like see your mother engage in more activities. Therefore, Michelle, the home manager, will arrange a suitable time for you to meet with the activity team to determine how we can improve the activities offering for her.

Job Title: Home Manager
I’m proud to be home manager at Cairdean House care home. I’ve been a qualified nurse for over 40 years and have managed care homes for the past 18 years. Along the way, I’ve completed my SVQ 4 in management, all mandatory training and hold certificates in working with children with special needs and in inclusion skills.
I chose to work at Care UK because of its strong reputation as a good company. In my role, it’s important to be open, honest, organised and to have a good sense of humour. Having strong listening skills and responding to issues in a timely manner is essential.
My favourite part of the day is walking around the home, chatting with staff, residents and relatives, and looking for ways to continue improving our environment. One of my proudest achievements was commissioning a care home from a building site into a luxury care setting.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see residents enjoying some well-deserved self-care, feeling happy and getting involved in activities. It’s also great to receive good ratings from external and internal inspections.
Outside of work, I enjoy music, singing and spending time with my granddaughter.
