As I was away on holiday, I only visited mum prior to her stay and afterwards to take her home. So I feel that my insight into the stay can only be based on my mum's opinion and the visitors. Overall, mum was very happy, although did moan about a few things, but has little patience if things are not done straight away. Maybe a bit more guidance, as we did not know to put washing in the string bag, so it did not get done. But we may have been told and it was not taken onboard.

I have had a very happy stay and would willingly come again. Carers are loving and dedicated and always there at your beckon call, they are never angry with you. Only sometimes do they have to be strict with the patients with Alzheimer's disease. I used to be a chaplain's visitor and visited in Orpington and Farnborough hospitals. I loved every minute of it. They were like family to me - I would tell them about our Lord Jesus Christ and the gift of healing which he gives to all who put their faith of trust in him. I will certainly come back and visit here as I live quite near.

My father was a resident of the Larch Wing (dementia) at Foxbridge House for the last seven months of his life. From the moment he first arrived the staff all helped him to settle in quickly. They established a caring personal relationship with him and dad relaxed in their care. We all appreciated the provisions which were made because of his special diet and all his likes and dislikes!

I virtually lived at Foxbridge for the last week of my dad's life. I witnessed the excellent around the clock care given to all the residents, from the housekeeping staff to the nurses, carers and management. Their dedication and care was exemplary.

My sister and brother-in-law came to Foxbridge House in June, my sister with dementia and her husband generally unwell. Sadly my brother-in-law passed away recently, he was treated with kindness and respect. My sister is treated with gentleness and kindness which I know is sometimes difficult for them, I haven't heard them lose patience with her, which I appreciate greatly.

My mother stayed here for six months. Her carers and helpers were all very nice and caring and made my mum's stay very comfortable and happy. I would recommend Foxbridge House to anyone else for respite or long term care. Also, the customer care and management were all pleasant and helpful too.

Having been a nurse all my working life and visited many nursing and residential home I can honestly say Foxbridge House is one of the best I have seen. The home is clean, the general upkeep is excellent and the care and consideration shown to my 100 yr old aunt is excellent. She is being treated with dignity and affection and as a relative I felt the staff I spoke to genuinely care for her well being and were kind and considerate to me. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

My mother moved to Foxbridge House in May 2016 following a change of needs review in her residential home. Mum had dementia and mobility issues following frequent falls and was a wheelchair user. During June/July mum became end of life and the team on Larch could not have been more caring, thoughtful or willing to fully engage us in mums care needs. As her deterioration became significant we were fully supported and informed of her changing care needs. Mum passed away peacefully and we as a family felt cared for and supported throughout our short time on Larch. Thank you.

Foxbridge proved a friendly and caring environment for my mothers recovery from a fall. Well designed and modern, it was completely the opposite of the somewhat bleak picture we had in our heads of care/nursing homes.

A very, clean beautiful residential home. My aunt felt she was on holiday in a hotel. Staff all so caring. It's always a worry leaving someone you love in the hands of strangers but Foxbridge House gave such peace of mind.

I think Foxbridge is fabulous. The difference in my uncle in the 18 months he has been here is amazing. At home he was quiet, sad and generally asleep, here he is his happy, noisy, well fed self. His recent bout of ill health was dealt with super efficiently and I have no doubt the staff here kept him from a trip to hospital. Everyone talks to him, cares about him and treats him lovingly. I was very against 'putting him in a home' but for him it has been the best decision we have made for a long time. Well done all the staff at Foxbridge.

I have nothing but praise for everyone working in Foxbridge House. The care given to my mother for the 2 short months she was there was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The decor of the place was more like a hotel really clean airy and well equipped. All the residents always seemed happy and contented and there was always a good choice of food in the restaurant. Carers always helped and encouraged if residents were not wanting to eat and respect was always shown and nursing care was always done in a dignified manner. Mum always used to say she was a loner but quickly joined in with any of the activities she was able to do and she always had a smile for everyone. Foxbridge has restored my faith in what a care home should be and I was always happy to spend time there with mum. It really did become a home from home

I visit my 92 year old friend at least once a week. Every time I go she complains about the food- the choice- the quality and presentation. I take her in soups which the staff make for her! On Saturday she was given three sandwiches for tea- no garnish. When she asked for a fourth one she was told not enough had been made! No energy is put into getting residents into the dining room- I'm told that many residents have their food in their rooms. She is not receiving any intellectual stimulation and chooses to spend all day in her room. Little apparent leaders.

My mother arrived at Foxbridge in October 2013, after a very distressing time in and out of hospital with double pneumonia. She seemed to rally initially with the wonderful care she received at Foxbridge, but sadly in December 2013 she suffered a severe stroke which was a game changer! over night she lost the ability to speak coherently and the stroke exacerbated her confusion. She had vascular dementia. Our lovely lady as we called her had changed forever. The care staff at Foxbridge could not have done more to make mums stay as comfortable and safe as possible. Their dedication and tenderness to mum and their empathy with my sister and I was impeccable. Mum had good days and bad, despite her deteriorating condition. The carers were always loving and cheerful. The entertainment manager was fantastic and as I lived in South Africa, went the extra mile to Skype regularly so I could see mum. When she sadly passed away in October 2015, we were devastated. But the staff were fantastic right until the very end!. They gave mum dignity in life and death. I will never have enough words to praise them.

Meet the Team (1)

Stella Barnes
Stella BarnesJob Title:Home Manager

There are many different aspects of my role as Home Manager at Foxbridge House, but one of my favourites is the opportunity to meet and get to know residents and their families. It’s a huge privilege.

Every person we care for is at the heart of their care: they make decisions about how they want to be cared for, how they want to spend their day and live their life, and we support them to make that happen.

Central to achieving that is having a superb team. We have great people at Foxbridge House who are determined to do their best for residents, relatives and for each other. I’m here to support them to succeed, and Care UK supports me to succeed as well.

While this job is high-pressured and there’s a lot to juggle, the feeling at the end of the day of knowing that you’ve done the best job you can is second to none.
