Wetherby Manor is a purpose-built, modern care home, which welcomes new residents for residential, dementia and general nursing care. The home has achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation and is proud to provide tailored care for veterans.

Wetherby Manor also has eight independent living apartments, which are suitable for couples or individuals. These provide a high standard of self-contained accommodation, with the comfort of a concierge service from the home to provide meals, laundry and care.

The 17 bed nursing care suite offers 24-hour support to people with complex health needs that cannot be managed at home. Wetherby Manor provides specialist nursing care on a long term or short term basis and the home's approach is tailored to your requirements.

The qualified nursing team oversees all elements of medical health care, whilst experienced care assistants support with the necessary personal and social care tasks. Wetherby Manor has a varied weekly wellbeing planner, which encourages stimulation of the mind, body and soul. The qualified Chef Manager and team can meet all dietary requirements and as part of the pre-admission assessment preferences and requirements will be discussed when it comes to nutrition.

As part of the Anchor care home estate, it provides high-quality care and luxurious facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home is finished to the highest standard and benefits from impressive facilities for customers to enjoy, such as a cinema room, ballroom and café. My grandfather was a resident in the nursing floor. I can't thank the staff enough for the care they gave to him and to all of our family. Everyone from the managers to the maintenance man took time to chat with us and make us feel at home. I would like to thank the nurses and carers especially for

We are afraid that our experience on the nursing floor of this care home was not good at all. They were understaffed and resident was neglected on numerous occasions. There were no organised activities for residents despite these being advertised. Other floors might be better but not the nursing one.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our nursing floor accommodates 17 residents, and I can confirm we do staff over what is recommended for this number to ensure all residents are safely supported at all times. Where a loved one begins to present more complex behaviours, the number of staff required to provide support can increase, which can result in a small variation in response time. However we always accommodate this and ensure residents needs are not neglected or compromised. We also have a full-time Activity Co-Ordinator who tailors activities based on residents' hobbies and interests and on the nursing floor activities can be 1-2-1 to ensure an individual is suitably rested. We are also mindful to arrange any activities with residents around family visits so they can ensure quality time with their loved one. We hope this has helped clarify any concerns and please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss this further if needed.

I visit Wetherby Manor every week to see a friend and do her hair. I have been doing her hair for nearly forty years, since I was 16 years old. She is a lovely lady and always likes everything just right. Things matching, always dressed smart and clean. She has gone into the Manor and she still looks
very smart. The carers are very lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend Wetherby Manor to people.

My mother was in the Wetherby Manor for a month before sadly she passed away. We experienced the ground floor for a short time and then my mother was end of end-of-life care in the nursing suite. I was absolutely delighted with how the nurses and carers looked after my mother. She passed away peacefully
and the care was superb.

Overall the home is a very caring and safe place for residents. It is undergoing a refurbishment which was needed as chairs/tables were too low for elderly residents to use. I have found management quite distant at times and that requests for items to assist my mother have not materialised. Footstools
for instance. I do not feel the activities are very diverse and would like more one on one for my mother. Rotation of staff is also hard as I don't know who will be in. They still don't wear name badges all the time.

The end-of-life care was superb. My brother-in-law was treated with great respect and dignity. Following his death until he left the building with the funeral directors and a member of the clergy, his treatment was exceptional.
The staff were superb, I cannot praise them enough.

We were welcomed into Wetherby Manor by really cheerful staff who showed us to my husband's room, explained all the equipment and what was going on in the home. Visiting was not a problem at any time. He had a lovely room overlooking the gardens which this time of year were beautiful. The staff were

My husband has been here at Wetherby Manor for about 4 years. He has been well cared for. Room clean, tidy and the family has had their photos on the walls. Food has been good, even now my husband is liquid diet, food is good. I have been kept in touch with all that is going on, but entertainment needs
to be looked at on the dementia floor.

Following our previous discussions, we have now introduced a Zest exercise session every day at 11 am on our nursing floor. We also have an external visitor who visits regularly and completes armchair-based exercises. Our activities are arranged with our resident’s input, where we encourage residents to participate but respect their wishes if they don’t wish to do so. We’re always happy to receive suggestions for activities and entertainment.

I have been pleasantly by this nursing home. The food is excellent. Chef has gone over and beyond to suit my dietary needs. The caring staff are excellent and work in trying circumstances but always with a smile.

What can I say. A fabulous place. Staff always smiling and never appear stressed (this is vital as it means we feel able to communicate with staff and that our family member is being cared for).
Each and every one has been welcoming since Mum arrived in August. It’s lovely and inclusive. Communication
is fabulous and there’s an obvious ability to listen to. Always clean and comfortable. The public areas are many, thus means that Mum can have quiet times or times of wanting company.

I can’t thank the manager and her team at Wetherby Manor enough. My father needed palliative care and we really didn’t know what to do. From the moment we walked through the doors we knew we were in the right place. Beautiful flowers inside and throughout the garden, smiling residents, smiling staff,
light bright rooms, people who cared, so much warmth and empathy. We never looked back.
We were looked after as well as my father was. Kindness from everyone makes us feel so welcome. They even let us bring our golden retriever to see my father.
This is a place that helps you relax no matter what the future brings and enjoy those precious moments together.

After two disappointing care homes, Mum moved to Wetherby Manor, and we were very glad she did. She quickly settled in and became part of the family. She was on the dementia floor, which was great. They allowed Mum to be herself and to have fun, and she would often join the residential floor with their
activities (usually listening and dancing to live music). Sadly, Mum recently passed, but the staff couldn't have done any more; they were kind and compassionate towards her and to us, helping us through that sad time.

Mum loved being in Wetherby Manor. She was there for two weeks of respite care and loved everything about it. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was lovely and so much of it. The residents were friendly and took her on a tour of the lovely gardens everyday day she was able which made

Caroline

Caroline Byron

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

Hello, I’m Caroline, the registered manager of Wetherby Manor. I have over 35 years of experience within the care sector, bringing a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the needs of the people we support.


During my time working in the care industry, I have had different roles that have provided me with varied experience and skills. I worked with Marie Curie, specialising in palliative care, I was the Deputy Manager of an Extra Care facility, a care co-ordinator in the community and I was registered manager of a care home in Selby for two years.


Seven years ago, I qualified as a nurse and worked in the elderly care ward at Harrogate District Hospital. Showing compassion to others and supporting them in times of need has always been a calling of mine, demonstrated further by my volunteer roles delivering complementary therapy to those still living at home on the palliative care pathway.


I am one of seven children, and we are all qualified nurses. So some might say the job is in my blood!
Just before I was born, my mother bought a care home which she ran, I grew up within that care home; learning and watching people to support others showing compassion, empathy, and kindness. That foundation has provided me with the life skills to support my passion for care in a professional way. I am very proud of my roots and my working life so far and am delighted to now be the registered manager of such a luxurious residential and nursing home in the heart of Wetherby.


The team at Wetherby Manor are diverse and passionate and I look forward to being able to support and expand their development as far as they want to progress.

I started my role in June 2023, and I support Caroline with the daily management of the home. With over 30 years’ experience in the care sector, I have a vast knowledge and a wealth of experience in looking after people, being able to look after your loved ones is a true privilege. I am a Mum to three and have worked at Wetherby Manor since it opened in 2013.


I started as a Care Assistant, then I was a Senior Team Leader and now I am an Activities Co-ordinator. I am very passionate about creating options for our residents and ensuring their lives are enhanced by the ideas and events that happen in Wetherby Manor.


Sadly I experienced a time in my life where a family member needed support, which was never given. This experience motivates me to give my all to help others in any way I can. I love spending time with the residents and making a difference.

Hello! I’m Alison and I am the administrator at Wetherby Manor.


I have worked in payroll, recruitment and administration roles for 34 years so I have a lot of knowledge about the processes required to execute my role effectively.


I started my career within care in 2017 when I was a care recruiter; firstly, in Children's Services and then into Adult Services, inclusive of management teams for nursing homes, residential homes, supported / independent living, home care and complex care. I was responsible for over 25 clients recruiting the right people for their roles.
I have a diploma in payroll management.


At Wetherby Manor, I will support you and your loved ones with your resident contract, account management and other administrative duties.


I live in Leeds with my husband and three children – a boy 23, and two girls aged 12 and 9.


We own a Caravan on the East Coast which we love spending time at.
