My dad was accepted by Madison Court nursing home (the Duckeries) as an emergency placement when he suddenly deteriorated and was no longer able to be cared for at home.
My mum was very anxious and did not want him to go because people had told her it was a horrible place.
This was totally unfounded.
My dad was taken to The Duckeries on 27th April and sadly passed away on 20th May - in his short time with them I found all the staff to be very caring and compassionate not only to my dad but to his extended family. He was treated with dignity at all times. We were included in his care every step of the way with regular phone calls to update us on his condition which was invaluable as we all live quite a distance away.
We were encouraged to stay with dad when his condition deteriorated further and were supplied with tea/coffee toast and support and a friendly chat when needed.

We, as a family, cannot thank them enough for the care that they provided for Dad in his short time with them.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. It is sad that your mother had heard negative things about the home when clearly this is not the case. Rylands Unit is a family! My dad loves it and feels at home, as do I and all his visitors.

The care received by all the residents is fantastic - the staff are kind, helpful, skilful and they CARE. This relates to ALL staff - carers/caretaker/domestic, etc.

Maddie Court is my mother in law's home, but to our family, it is more than just a home, it's where she is cared for above and beyond and treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
The facilities are extremely good, along with the staff and extra activities such as trips and booked entertainment for Mum.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to any interested suitor.

My father-in-law spent the last year's of his life on Rylans unit at Madison Court.

The staff are amazing! They treated him with the dignity, care and respect they would their own family member. I can't thank them enough for the care and support they provided for both him and myself. Thank you

We cannot thank the Madison Court manager and staff enough for the care they give to my Mother, she has 100% care in all areas, and we as a family are treated with the same care, respect and politeness every time we visit. We first met the manager when she came to see us at our home, to sort out getting our Mother in the home, it had already been recommended to us by friends. From the first day we entered there with Mum, the manager met us on arrival and put us all totally at ease, it was such a difficult, upsetting time for us all to admit defeat and have to put mum in care, but we can honestly say we have never looked back. Mum is treated with every inch of care and respect that could be given, we can not give any negatives whatsoever to how Mum and all of us are treated. Care, treatment, cleanliness and a wide variety of food on the menu to meet every need. We highly recommend Madison Court.

Thank you so much and keep up the good work, EXCELLENT from all the family.

My grandad was treated with dignity and respect. The staff were always attentive to his needs and very quick to respond to calls. They made a very upsetting time for our family as easy and comfortable as it could be. They took extra time and care to get to know him and see what he liked in all aspects of his life.

All carers very helpful. They deal with my mum in a caring way but despite her difficulties in understanding, they are not patronising.
The food is good and mum particularly likes the sweets.

The only negative is that clothes, teeth etc can go missing but this is understandable given the vague activities of my mother.

Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Madison Court Care Home

Thank you for your review. You are right, everyone is delighted with the menu and the care team work so hard to ensure that they do their best for every resident. I know, things do go 'missing' but more often than not, things reappear, in some of the most unlikely of places, but that is one of the joys of caring for people who feel the impact of dementia on their daily lives! Kind regards

My sister is very happy in Madison Court she is very fond of her carers. The carers work very hard and always have a smile and kind word for people. I live in Portsmouth and come to see her as often as we can (3/4) weeks. We always find her well and happy and very well cared for which is a great relief for me. We are in our 80's and it means a lot to know she is in such good surroundings.

My Nan has been at Madison Court for several months and she is very contented there and we are very happy that she is being well cared for. I visit the home frequently at all times of the day and the staff are all very welcoming, they are always busy but they always take the time to chat for a moment or two. The home is clean, it always smells nice and is overall well decorated.

The food is wholesome and filling, my nan always says how much she enjoys the sponge puddings. The staff do a good job, they are kind and caring, and I would particularly like to mention the activity girls as they bring so much colour to Madison Court, you always see them buzzing about either crafting or organising events. Overall we are very happy with Madison Court and I now consider it a second home.
