Dad has been a resident for more than 6 years now and has never been happier. The staff are always so friendly, welcoming and supportive. I can't thank them enough for all the hard work and effort that they put in. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they will always try to go above and beyond. It would be very hard to pick out a particular moment or person to praise, as they are all so good. I am, however, very grateful for the opportunity being given to my dad to attend his grandson's wedding, which he is thrilled about.

The advice and support I have had from the staff at Ambleside has been amazing. They made the transition for my mum to becoming a resident much easier. I have lots of useful advice and regular updates as to how my mum is getting on with either chats or updates on the app.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They make a point of getting to know the residents and make them feel at home. There are lots of activities to participate in and social interactions and friendships are actively encouraged. Ambleside is clean, light and sunny, very well maintained with a lovely garden and outdoor area. My mum is very happy and I am confident that she is being well cared for and given plenty of opportunities to enjoy life. The staff have been incredibly supportive of me as well as mum during the transition into her next chapter.

We can not praise the staff at Ambleside too highly.
My sister after 25 years of living in France wanted to return to the UK. She was terminally ill and needed palliative care.
The moment we walked in we knew we had found the ideal home for her. She loved the room and having a garden to look at gave her great joy.
The staff were so attentive and she was so happy for her last few weeks.
One of the highlights was the family Easter egg hunt watching her great nephews and nieces enjoy the garden.

I would recommend Ambleside to anyone. Thank you to the whole team.

My wife spent 6 months and although the staff were all good.
I did not feel the management cared at all. My wife has alzheimer's dementia she allegedly pushed another resident over at 3 on morning. Where were the staff.
I was told about this and it was explained as one of those things.
I had a telephone call a week or so after and was told My wife had to leave. It was never suggested that we meet and discuss it.
I did try to make contact with the area manager who never returned my emails.
I feel not to have had any contact face to face is worrying.

I must also question where the members of staff were at that time this happened in the main corridor. This was never raised as an issue.

Mum has been in Ambleside for 6weeks now, has really settled in well. I am so pleased to see a real change in her, she has had a very difficult year especially the last 6months. Loosing her husband of 74years dealing with ill health and numerous trips to hospital. At last she can relax and let all the very kind staff look after her, which they do right from management, all carers, kitchen staff, and of course the kind maintenance man and gardener man who waves to her when he passes her window. She participates in the activities which the home put on again by very hard working staff.
She has had a change of room, now in a lovely newly decorated and all new furniture, the staff concern moved all her possessions, the family did not have to worry about anything.

Finally I would really recommend their coffee and cake station a lovely touch.

Ambleside have been brilliant at looking after my father, who has advanced dementia and Alzheimer's. Their staff are so kind and caring and treat him with dignity and understanding, which I am so grateful for. Due to unexpected circumstances, my Dad had to go into a care home very suddenly. The staff were incredible at smoothing this huge transition for him and speeding up the process rapidly for us. He now enjoys lots of activities and still gets to see his favourite dog whenever he visits the home. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

My Sister came to Ambleside in May, having been transferred from another home. I cannot speak more highly of the care and attention she has received, having been diagnosed with dementia. The management is first class, as are the wonderful carers. All residents are treated with dignity and respect. The quality of the home is nothing short of superb, just like visiting a five star hotel. It is wonderful to see my Sister so relaxed and happy. God bless you all

My Mum was admitted to Ambleside at the end of October 2024 after living with Alzheimer's for several years.
Our biggest concern was how or if she would settle to a completely different environment, however, our concerns were quickly erased, largely helped by the care and attention of the staff.

The surroundings and facilities are excellent at the home and the staff are professional and very approachable if we need to discuss anything.

My dad went into respite in Oct, 2024 as I was going on holiday and to see how he liked it. He was struggling to look after himself and had recently had to have a catheter fitted which he struggled to deal with.
He did enjoy the the respite period and the fact there were people around. He became a permanent resident from November.
The staff are very attentive and caring, the meals were good.
My dad's health declined quite rapidly and he became bed bound from January, 2025.
He died from heart failure in March, 2025.

We were impressed by the care and attention he recieved at Ambleside during his stay there, especially after hearing horror stories of other friends parents care experiences.

Our mum has been suffering with Alzheimer's for some time and it became impossible to give her a decent quality of life and look after her safely at her home. We visited Ambleside on a number of occasions prior to mum's admission and she decided it was the right place to be for her. Mum has settled in well and we visit Ambleside most days. We find the staff to be very helpful and professional. The atmosphere is relaxed and everything is clean and tidy. Mum has as much freedom as she needs and is able to join in with as many activities as she wishes. It is and feels like a supportive community in a great setting. Thankyou

My mother recently moved into Ambleside and we have been very impressed with the whole set up. The staff are friendly and very experienced, working hard to settle mum in. The activities are excellent and mum likes the food. The setting is beautiful and her room is very clean and attractive. My wife is a resident in Ambleside, after succumbing to dementia so I eventually could not care for her at home. She loves the staff (who always greet us both by name) and the care she has is excellent - also the food (much better than mine!). There is plenty of room for my wife to walk around and chat with the staff, 'a café' on the ground floor with cake and drinks available so residents can be taken there to sit with relatives and friends. The rooms are light and modern, including the dining rooms, of which there are a number, so residents can eat in small groups. All of my wife's visitors have commented that it is the nicest home they have visited.

During an uncertain start (because of my wife's specific issues) the staff always communicated any problems and asked for my approval if changes were needed. There is a visiting nurse who has been exceptionally supportive. So thank you to everyone there.
