Ambleside is a purpose-built Care UK home in Stratford-upon-Avon. The care home provides professional and personalised residential care, as well as short-term respite care and sensitive end of life care.

Just 3 weeks ago my wife moved into Ambleside
We chose Ambleside because of the person who showed us around who we trusted and felt cared
Also the home itself is well kept and all the staff seem to care which means the residents seem calm and happy
Over the last 3 weeks we were proven right in
our choice it's not been easy for my wife but I am confident she is getting the help she needs

Ambleside have been brilliant at looking after my father, who has advanced dementia and Alzheimer's. Their staff are so kind and caring and treat him with dignity and understanding, which I am so grateful for. Due to unexpected circumstances, my Dad had to go into a care home very suddenly. The staff
were incredible at smoothing this huge transition for him and speeding up the process rapidly for us. He now enjoys lots of activities and still gets to see his favourite dog whenever he visits the home. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

My father was brought to the home with dementia to allow us to concentrate on my mother who has been seriously ill.
His condition now needs professional people to look after him and give him a decent senior stage of life. The home, staff and services are all excellent.

Lovely staff and good environment. The care home is in good shape, clean and homely. The staff show a genuine interest in their patients and are professional. There are activites for the service users to engage with.

My Sister came to Ambleside in May, having been transferred from another home. I cannot speak more highly of the care and attention she has received, having been diagnosed with dementia. The management is first class, as are the wonderful carers. All residents are treated with dignity and respect. The
quality of the home is nothing short of superb, just like visiting a five star hotel. It is wonderful to see my Sister so relaxed and happy. God bless you all

My Mum was admitted to Ambleside at the end of October 2024 after living with Alzheimer's for several years.
Our biggest concern was how or if she would settle to a completely different environment, however, our concerns were quickly erased, largely helped by the care and attention of the staff.
The
surroundings and facilities are excellent at the home and the staff are professional and very approachable if we need to discuss anything.

My dad went into respite in Oct, 2024 as I was going on holiday and to see how he liked it. He was struggling to look after himself and had recently had to have a catheter fitted which he struggled to deal with.
He did enjoy the the respite period and the fact there were people around. He became a
permanent resident from November.
The staff are very attentive and caring, the meals were good.
My dad's health declined quite rapidly and he became bed bound from January, 2025.
He died from heart failure in March, 2025.
We were impressed by the care and attention he recieved at Ambleside during his stay there, especially after hearing horror stories of other friends parents care experiences.

We were very pleased with the care and experience given to my aunt. The staff are very kind and friendly and we were kept updated at all times. Ambleside is a modern, clean and bright care home with lovely gardens and outlook. Nothing was too much trouble.

Our mum has been suffering with Alzheimer's for some time and it became impossible to give her a decent quality of life and look after her safely at her home. We visited Ambleside on a number of occasions prior to mum's admission and she decided it was the right place to be for her. Mum has settled
in well and we visit Ambleside most days. We find the staff to be very helpful and professional. The atmosphere is relaxed and everything is clean and tidy. Mum has as much freedom as she needs and is able to join in with as many activities as she wishes. It is and feels like a supportive community in a great setting. Thankyou

My mother recently moved into Ambleside and we have been very impressed with the whole set up. The staff are friendly and very experienced, working hard to settle mum in. The activities are excellent and mum likes the food. The setting is beautiful and her room is very clean and attractive. During a
recent illness, staff kept us informed of decisions about her care and coaxed her back onto her feet with patience and determination.

So pleased we managed to get my father into Ambleside. My experience has been nothing but marvellous. My father is cared for in a manner which even he comments on and in his state of mind this is praise indeed. Thank you for enabling his family to be relaxed and totally satisfied with his well-being.

My wife is a resident in Ambleside, after succumbing to dementia so I eventually could not care for her at home. She loves the staff (who always greet us both by name) and the care she has is excellent - also the food (much better than mine!). There is plenty of room for my wife to walk around and chat
with the staff, 'a café' on the ground floor with cake and drinks available so residents can be taken there to sit with relatives and friends. The rooms are light and modern, including the dining rooms, of which there are a number, so residents can eat in small groups. All of my wife's visitors have commented that it is the nicest home they have visited.
During an uncertain start (because of my wife's specific issues) the staff always communicated any problems and asked for my approval if changes were needed. There is a visiting nurse who has been exceptionally supportive. So thank you to everyone there.

My father was staying at Ambleside, they looked after him so well. All the carers were so wonderful. He loved the music for dementia and all the great singers. Ambleside has also taken great care of my mum while she visited my father. They keep the home so clean, it is a lovely care home.

The carers are all pleasant, however I am concerned that my relative is not receiving the care she should have. She has not been given the appropriate prescribed medication. There is never anyone available to talk to (or even to let us out of the building), and the phone is never answered. Some of the
food she has been given has been inappropriate for her medical needs. Overall I am very disappointed. There are too few staff and either they haven't received adequate training or have not understood what is required to deliver medical care at the end of life.

Every time I visit my friend, the staff are all friendly and always smiling. The home is light and airy and the rooms well appointed. The chef makes the best cakes and pastries and they are always available.

My mum came into Ambleside Care Home in October last year, after the sudden loss of my father. They had been married for over 50 years and Dad always cared for Mum. Mum was not able to cope in the family home on her own, so we looked for a suitable care home. After Mum had tried the home for two weeks
she was reluctant to leave. All the staff (especially one member of staff in particular) have been so caring and compassionate while Mum has been settling in during a very difficult time. Mum does require a lot of help in day-to-day things, which the home are always willing to support. Ambleside is always a happy place, clean and tidy. Whilst there have been some ups and downs, I cannot fault how the team at Ambleside have always responded and supported Mum in everything she needs. I would very happily recommend Ambleside Care Home.

My sister, aged 88, has always been strong-willed, very independent and a widow for over ten years, with no children or other relatives still alive, except me, aged 84 and living 1 hour and 25 minutes away, by car that I am not supposed to drive for that length of time. She now needs help, is unable
to walk very far and becoming forgetful. I am sure she needs a lot of care now but insists she could cope staying at her home alone.
I studied the local care availability online and my son drove me up to see my sister and I had arranged to visit Ambleside with her while on the day visit.
The staff at Ambleside were so pleasant and kind, explaining the sort of help they offered, the cost, the activities, the facilities, the dining rooms and bedrooms etc. Care is available at whatever level needed.
My sister accepted some respite care which so far has been excellent and I am hopeful she will stay there indefinitely and get the help that is available to her.

I began working for Care UK in 2017, and it was evident from my first day that Care UK has a strong ethos and is passionate about delivering high standards of care.


Care UK is continually expanding and has many support teams available.


Before joining Ambleside, I was the deputy manager at Scarlet house. Prior to Care UK I held a number of roles at a domiciliary care and live-in care provider.


As Home Manager, it’s important to be a good listener, approachable, accommodating, motivated and have high standards.


My favourite part of the day is spending time with the residents and making a difference to their lives. It’s fantastic to see residents happy and smiling. Making a positive impact on their lives makes the stresses of the job worth it, and I look forward to continuing fulfilling residents’ lives at Ambleside.


It also makes me proud to see colleagues develop and progress their careers through mentoring and coaching. I enjoy sharing my skills and knowledge with the team and helping colleagues to follow and achieve their career aspirations.


Outside of work, I love going on days out with my son, eating out with friends, walking my dogs and going on holiday.
