We have been delighted with Mum's care. The current lack of the online portal is the only complaint we have had. Staff are excellent at all levels, from general manager to reception, carers and cleaners, all are friendly and caring.

My mother joined this week and my father is arriving a week later. So far, this review is based on the first week. I hope to be able to confirm the same review after a longer period of time. The staff are fantastic with my mother and thus far have been a great start to a difficult time. One observation would be to provide a starter pack for new residents and family and a meeting after the first week to ensure all is going in the right direction and to avoid any uncertainties.

It's a lovely place, but the night staff are nowhere near as good as the day staff. We don't get notified if there's a problem, eg Dad gets taken to the hospital by ambulance; we don't know until Dad calls from the hospital! Food is awful, not good for what they spend per month. Not enough staff.

We've had a great experience with The Beeches. The staff are always there and are happy to help the residents. There are lots of activities, and the staff are always encouraging everyone to join in and have fun. The receptionists are very jolly and are happy to help and answer our questions. Great place - we love it!

It has to be said this care home is lovely. We cannot fault this home at all. Upon entering was met by a charming receptionist and was offered tea, juice, cake, and biscuits as our sister-in-law was being attended to. Her room was warm and airy. All my sister-in-law's needs were attended to. The home is like home-from-home. It's a pity not all care homes are like this.

My husband arrived here in January 2023 in very poor mental and physical health. During his time here, he has "come back" to life with all the care he has received. I cannot praise them enough. The welcome we received and continue to receive is like being among old friends; everyone is so understanding, and nothing is too much trouble.

Well, what can I say about The Beeches? When I came in here, I was in a very poorly state. The Beeches in all the staff, particularly the nurses absolutely sorted me out. Efficiently, kindly and caringly. I have loved and enjoyed my life here - even through the pandemic and spoamodic later outbreaks of Covid. I am fairly mobile, so am able and enjoy to keep up with family, friends, hobbies and holidays outside The Beeches. But whenever I go outside The Beeches, people say to me, "you look so good". A testament in no small art to The Beeches.

My husband needed respite care after an extended hospital stay. A few years ago I had taken my elderly neighbours to view The Beeches and had been very impressed with all the facilities, the levels of general care and medical care offered and the friendliness of all the staff we met. I, therefore contacted them to see if they could help with respite care. From the first phone call, I felt completely confident that they would look after him and assist with his rehabilitation. Everyone, the carers, nursing staff, chefs, maintenance, and reception, everyone has been amazing, helpful, kind and caring. Rehabilitation is ongoing and I am confident that he is in the best place.

My mum and dad came in initially for respite care after Dad had a fall at home.
Anyway, we decided on The Beeches as we had heard such good things about it from friends etc.
From the moment we entered the home, we felt so welcomed, and every single staff member went out of their way to make Mum and Dad feel at home.
It is hard to put your parents into someone else's care, but as a family, we have no worries that our parents are not receiving fantastic care here.
They have now decided to become permanent residents as they are so happy, and our Mum absolutely loves all the activities knowing that Dad is being looked after so well.
The Beeches is a caring, kind and wonderful place, and this is thanks to the fantastic staff and their commitment to all the residents.

I would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone and everyone. You have given my sister and I peace of mind, which is priceless.

Jana Krapkova
Jana KrapkovaJob Title:Dementia Care ManagerJoined: 2015
After finishing a Business Course in the Czech Republic, I started as a carer, looking after people with mental health problems.

When I moved to England, in 2007, I originally worked as a carer in a home near Watford. At the time, my manager offered me the position of Senior Carer/Training Co-Ordinator in Romford, so I relocated to Essex.

I was looking after young, physically disabled people. I found my passion for palliative care as we worked closely with St Francis Hospice.

Years later I was promoted to Home Based Trainer and provided mandatory training to all staff. I had the opportunity to travel around different homes in the area and study a course provided by Bradford University: “Person First, Dementia Second”. After that, I knew I had to go back into care.

I have been at The Beeches since October 2015. I started as a Lead Carer and have now worked my way up as a Dementia Care Manager. I love it here and really feel like I make a difference to our residents.

*We are proud to add that Jana won the Dementia Care Manager at The National Care Awards 2017

My passion is providing excellent service, making sure families and prospective residents are guided and supported from first contact throughout the process to move in and then for their continued stay.

The decision to move yourself or a loved one into care can be a bewildering, emotional and sometimes difficult one and it's my job to make that decision an informed and peaceful one for all involved.

I am privileged to work with a team who’s knowledge, experience, empathy and understanding is second to none.

I started here at The Beeches in 2013 as a Housekeeper and worked myself up to Housekeeping Manager within a year.

I’ve worked in the care industry for 10 years and before that in Retail. I strive to provide our residents with the best service and a lovely clean environment. I look at our residents being an extended family to me and feel privileged to see them daily.

I’m proud to be part of a fantastic team here at The Beeches.
