A great, clean home that I would want to stay in if I had to stay in a care home. Clean, friendly and a place that relatives can be sure that their family member is being looked after once they've left.

My husband moved into Barchester Beaufort Grange in mid-January, and he was very delighted with the home. The care he has received has been exemplary. The home is clean, warm and welcoming. The home manager is always approachable and keeps me fully updated, which I truly appreciate and value. The carers
are very attentive to my husband's comfort and safety and demonstrate their interest and concern for his well-being throughout. It is very reassuring to know my husband is in such good hands. I can't thank the staff- management, reception, carers, nurses and everyone else enough. They are very special people.

Dad had been in and out of the hospital for many months, gradually deteriorating. Despite a good care at home package, we felt Dad needed 24-hour care for a couple of weeks. I had seen lots of activities taking place on social media and the care and engagement of residents made me feel that this was
a safe place for Dad. A place where he would be encouraged to be independent and safe at home again. (Dad's wish was to die at his own home.) Despite being out of our local area they found a room for Dad. A large clean room with private bathroom facilities. All lovely and clean. My dad was made welcome on his first encounter with the staff. The activities manager went to see him and she made him feel very safe and secure. Dad was a very fussy eater! When asked what he would like to eat he'd say what he wanted following by 'but not a lot'. People went to a lot of trouble for him to ensure he had what he wanted. All the staff were helpful, kind and professional and helped Dad to get home again. Highly recommended.

I was moved here for respite after 5 weeks in the hospital with a rare brain disorder. It is close to my home. The staff are really lovely and couldn't be more helpful/cheerful. I am totally independent therefore use the little kitchen area to make my own tea/coffee and that would be my only area of
concern long term. Leaking dishwasher or pipes flooding the floor and no proper towelling, dish clothes for sinks/surfaces to be sterilised.

Mum has been a resident for two and a half years now and the whole team have always been kind, friendly and cheerful. My father was a resident here for nearly two years before he passed away here. In all that time the care he was given was top class. He was well treated with respect and kindness well fed and always clean. I could not find any fault with this care home. The staff look after all the residents with the
same care and respect that you would expect them to receive and will look after your family for you. We visited every week and could see the excellent caring attitude of all the staff and management. My deepest thanks go to all the staff for all that they done for my father during his time there.
A thank you also goes to the general manager who has a wonderful team with her.
If you have family here they will be well looked after.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.860)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.860) out of 10 for Barchester Beaufort Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.860 for Barchester Beaufort Grange is calculated as follows: ( (409 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 463 Ratings = 4.86
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Beaufort Grange is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
