My sisters and I took the difficult decision to move Mum into a care home in August 2020. She has Alzheimer's and various other health problems and after several falls, urine infections and hospital stays, we contacted Baugh House who were very happy for her to be admitted.
It was a great relief for
the family that the care home manager and nursing staff were immediately welcoming and assured us that Mum would receive excellent care. Mum is very happy there and so the family are happy too.
Reply from Sym Jaj, Senior Marketing Executive at Baugh HouseThank you for this wonderful review. We understand the difficulty people face when looking to move a loved one to a care home, even when it is in their best interest; so it's lovely to hear that you and your sister are feeling reassured by the team. It's amazing to hear that your mum has settled in well with the Baugh House team and we have no doubt that the team will continue to provide your mum with the care and compassion that she deserves. Stay safe.

My mum was in hospital and I was asked to find a care home with urgent notice. Baugh House is one of the closest care homes for me and when I contacted them, they accepted my mother with open hands. I spoke to the manager and she completed all the paperwork within the quickest time and made the very
anxious and nerve-wracking journey of finding a care home very pleasant and comfortable. Once my mum moved in, the manager welcomed us with her beautiful smile and ensured regular Facetime with my mum and my brother. I am doing window visits and I can see my mum is very well cared for and she seems much happier. I would recommend the care home to everyone. I am in touch with the manager every day and she is very proactive in her response and updating me about my mum. She also supported me to do the paperwork for Social Services which is beyond her job.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseThank you for taking the time to review Baugh House. Your 5* review just about sums everything up! The team works so hard to ensure that both old and new residents are well cared for and kept safely out of harm's way. Your review will do much to reassure others about moving to the home during these difficult times.

Finding a care home for my mother was such an anxious time for the family as she is quite a difficult and demanding woman and has a language barrier. This is the first time my mother stayed in a care home. The staff at the home especially the deputy manager kept me updated every day multiple times.
She was very responsive to my queries, and was very good at listening to my mother and responding to her. As my mother only speaks in her native language, the deputy manager made it so easy for my mother by speaking the same language. I made video calls every day and observed the amazing dedication of all the staff and their ability to tailor activities and interaction to my mother's needs. I have no complaints at all, and would unreservedly highly recommend Baugh House to anyone looking for a care home and my special gratitude goes to the deputy manager for looking after my mother as she was her own mother.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseWhat a wonderful review and testament to the team at Baugh House and especially the Deputy Manager. All will be pleased to know that their hard work and dedication have been recognised by you. Your kind words are warmly received, thank you.

My second visit during the lockdown and pleased to see my mum. Very well organised, shame about the cold during lockdown visits. Using a room with an open door would suit Mum better.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseThank you very much for your review. We will be sure to take on board your suggestions regarding the garden visits. Please be reassured that if you have any comments or suggestions regarding care or services at Baugh, please feel free to contact the home and they will be very happy to help. Kind regards

You can measure care homes in various ways. My very old mother is recovering from an injury. She has been shown care by all the staff and our family feel she is safe in Baugh House. My mother cannot compliment the staff more, they understand her needs and nothing seems too much trouble.
I find them
receptive to her and our worries for her. Keep it up.

Thank you so much for all the care you have been providing to my Mum. Not only has my mum been cared for, but the staff at Baugh House have always been caring towards myself and my sister. You made such a fantastic effort for Mum on her birthday and June and it is a day that I will treasure. Thank you
Baugh House for everything you do to make Mum as comfortable as she can be. We miss coming to visit mum and everyone at Baugh House, It has been mum's home for the past two years and all the staff have made her experience a really positive one.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseThank you, what a wonderful review. Having been in the hospital for a few weeks, it was decided in November 2019 that Mum required palliative care and was admitted in December. Although she didn't want to go into a home, she settled in, always with the idea that when she was better she would return home.
The care, kindness and affection
shown by all the staff on the nursing floor; was wonderful and the friendliness and welcome for her family from everyone made a difficult situation much easier.
Mum, unfortunately, died the day after her 90th birthday which the staff marked with a card, cake and a rendition of Happy Birthday around her bed which raised a smile during a sad and emotional day.
Throughout her stay, the thoughtfulness of all staff was self-evident for which we will always be very grateful.
Reply from Melissa Lawerence, Marketing Coordintaor at Baugh HouseThank you for your review, please accept our sincerest apologies of the passing of your mother, we appreciate your kind remarks about our home and the 'care' and 'kindness' shown by all staff. We're truly humbled - kind regards.

Our mother has now been at Baugh House for just over a month, and in that time, the care she has received has been exceptional. She very quickly felt at home and this is all down to the dedicated and hardworking staff. The highlight came on Tuesday 1st October when she celebrated her 96th birthday.
From the moment she woke till going to bed, she was made to feel very special and my sister and I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness and care.

I have nothing but praise for the staff in the nursing section, they are caring to patients and relatives, professional in their duties and for what they do (probably underpaid). I have great respect. It is hard work and in my opinion understaffed, although this seems to have improved over the last
few weeks.

Since my mum-in-law moved into Baugh House in April they have been nothing but fantastic. She has settled so well. The home itself is spotlessly clean and the staff go over and above to make residents feel at home. And I mean everyone domestic staff, care staff and admin. Ten out of ten to you all.
Can't thank you all enough for all you do.

My Grandad was only in Baugh House for two weeks for end of life care before he sadly passed away at the end of March. But the care and quality of their staff are second to none, especially one member of staff in particular who was fantastic with my Grandad and definitely needs a massive promotion and
pay rise! The treatment that my Grandad received from Baugh House is something that I can't fault in any aspect. If anything was wrong, they would ring or we could ring at any time if there was any problem. Also, the cleaner was absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us and my Grandad. All of the nurses and staff were lovely and brilliant and on behalf of me and the rest of my family, we would like to thank Baugh House for everything that they have done for us and for making my Grandad's last weeks with us more easy and comfortable.

Dad arrived at Baugh House only a month ago, already having been a resident at two other homes within a very short period. He arrived from hospital very poorly but has since pulled back showing dramatic improvement at all levels. I feel that this is purely down to the wonderful genuine care, that he
has received from the lovely staff and management team, who seem more like family than carers. This is the best care my dad has received by miles, and I genuinely look forward to visiting him there for these reasons. All rooms are light and comfortable. All public areas are well maintained and clean and fresh. Family and friends are made to feel really welcome and the food is amazing. The attentiveness to dads needs and interaction are second to none. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Baugh House Team for giving dad a second chance.

My husband has been at Baugh House for two and a half weeks so rather early to review. We have been treated with kindness and courtesy and welcomed into the 'family'.
It was my husband's birthday at the end of the first week and the staff couldn't have done more to make this a happy day for us, providing
afternoon tea, birthday cake, balloons, banners and photos of the event.
We as a family are glad to know that our husband, father, brother and friend is safe and well cared for.

My father was here for exactly 24 days, he is frail elderly and needs a bit of personal care and help with meds etc. The majority of others there need higher levels of care.
His room was pleasant.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.731)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.731) out of 10 for Baugh House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.731 for Baugh House is calculated as follows: ( (292 Excellents x 5) + (73 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 375 Ratings = 4.731
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Baugh House is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
