My father had been a resident for nearly 4 years at Baugh House! The permanent carers were super with continuity for my father's dementia needs, this we couldn’t fault, but the management are awful! Not a single manager remained for more than a few months at a time. There was over frequent use of agency
staff to the detriment to the residents! Management was always full of empty promises of improvement but alas with a week's notice in November 2021 we were informed my father had to leave! We were informed that his care needs were too great but this was a lie as his DST had not changed since he moved in, then we were informed this was not the case and that it was funding! This sent our family into a frantic search for a new home! the management put undue stress on our family and to the disgust of the carers that looked after my father we had to find a new home. This resulted in many of the long-term caring staff leaving. Please think carefully when choosing this home! Management are awful!

When my mom went to Baugh House she was a very poorly lady with no interest in living, she had given up on life. Within a week my mom had her spark back, she was laughing and joking, full of praise for the staff - she really is a different lady. Baugh House gave us our mom back. Mom is very happy and
content at Baugh House, and they will never know what that means to me, I am so grateful to them.
The room is very comfortable and she enjoys watching the TV supplied. If she requires company she has a lovely lounge to visit. She enjoys all her meals and is looked after by all the staff excellently. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff if anytime I have questions that need answering. Would definitely recommend Baugh House to anyone. It is a very clean, nice care home with superb and dedicated managers. Gives me peace of mind my mom is being cared for.

There are not enough words to express our love and gratitude you gave to dad, my mum and myself during his time at Baugh House. Entrusting the care of someone you love to others is a very difficult decision to make. From the moment you walk into Baugh House, you feel the love and the warmth all around
you. All your worries are forgotten as you are drawn in by a team of wonderful people. The team, where do you begin? They are all exceptional in every possible way, from carers, activities, domestic, kitchen, maintenance to management. Nothing is ever too much trouble; they truly went above and beyond to ensure that dads time spent at Baugh House have been happy, never a dull moment, you name it they did it. As a family, we have had some amazing times and some sad times. Everyone pulls together to support you when needed, always going the extra mile. What more could a family wish for? Knowing that when you leave your loved one, they are always in safe hands.

I cannot express just how much I appreciate the quality of care, respect and professionalism of the management and staff of Baugh House. When visiting my mother I immediately feel the great atmosphere that permeates in the home. When I ask about my mother I immediately get a detailed answer as to how
she is. My mother is 102 years old and in the current emergency, I am completely confident her quality of care will not in any way become less important. Also, my special acknowledgement goes to the ever-smiling and supporting Deputy Manager who has done a marvellous job in looking after my mother.

I cannot recommend Baugh House more highly! The deputy manager at Baugh House and her team have been more than I could have ever have hoped for. My husband has been with the home, and initially, him going into care due to his dementia was heart-breaking for me, as I was worried about who would be able
to take care of him the way I would want. I got that and more! The care is second to none, and I have total peace of mind, which is priceless. These wonderful special people are my saviour. They work so hard, and without them, I would be constantly worried, I am forever in their debt. My husband can be hard work at times, and they all deal with it with pure professionalism. It's a 10 out of 10 every time for me!

The new home manager, deputy manager, clinical staff and carers have been wonderful during this past testing year.
My father has had the best care possible and continues to be looked after to the highest level.
The contact with the home manager has been exceptional. At no point have we requested
something and it hasn’t been done.
During COVID it’s been very difficult for us as a family not having physical contact with our loved one. The home provided the best contact they could whenever possible, e.g. pod visits, Zoom calls and most especially inside visits.
All the carers/domestic staff and nurses known to me have been great in their roles during this testing time!

My sisters and I took the difficult decision to move Mum into a care home in August 2020. She has Alzheimer's and various other health problems and after several falls, urine infections and hospital stays, we contacted Baugh House who were very happy for her to be admitted.
It was a great relief for
the family that the care home manager and nursing staff were immediately welcoming and assured us that Mum would receive excellent care. Mum is very happy there and so the family are happy too.
Reply from Sym Jaj, Senior Marketing Executive at Baugh HouseThank you for this wonderful review. We understand the difficulty people face when looking to move a loved one to a care home, even when it is in their best interest; so it's lovely to hear that you and your sister are feeling reassured by the team. It's amazing to hear that your mum has settled in well with the Baugh House team and we have no doubt that the team will continue to provide your mum with the care and compassion that she deserves. Stay safe.

My mum was in hospital and I was asked to find a care home with urgent notice. Baugh House is one of the closest care homes for me and when I contacted them, they accepted my mother with open hands. I spoke to the manager and she completed all the paperwork within the quickest time and made the very
anxious and nerve-wracking journey of finding a care home very pleasant and comfortable. Once my mum moved in, the manager welcomed us with her beautiful smile and ensured regular Facetime with my mum and my brother. I am doing window visits and I can see my mum is very well cared for and she seems much happier. I would recommend the care home to everyone. I am in touch with the manager every day and she is very proactive in her response and updating me about my mum. She also supported me to do the paperwork for Social Services which is beyond her job.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseThank you for taking the time to review Baugh House. Your 5* review just about sums everything up! Finding a care home for my mother was such an anxious time for the family as she is quite a difficult and demanding woman and has a language barrier. This is the first time my mother stayed in a care home. The staff at the home especially the deputy manager kept me updated every day multiple times.
She was very responsive to my queries, and was very good at listening to my mother and responding to her. As my mother only speaks in her native language, the deputy manager made it so easy for my mother by speaking the same language. I made video calls every day and observed the amazing dedication of all the staff and their ability to tailor activities and interaction to my mother's needs. I have no complaints at all, and would unreservedly highly recommend Baugh House to anyone looking for a care home and my special gratitude goes to the deputy manager for looking after my mother as she was her own mother.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Director of Sales and Marketing at Baugh HouseWhat a wonderful review and testament to the team at Baugh House and especially the Deputy Manager. You can measure care homes in various ways. My very old mother is recovering from an injury. She has been shown care by all the staff and our family feel she is safe in Baugh House. My mother cannot compliment the staff more, they understand her needs and nothing seems too much trouble.
I find them
receptive to her and our worries for her. Keep it up.

Having been in the hospital for a few weeks, it was decided in November 2019 that Mum required palliative care and was admitted in December. Although she didn't want to go into a home, she settled in, always with the idea that when she was better she would return home.
The care, kindness and affection
shown by all the staff on the nursing floor; was wonderful and the friendliness and welcome for her family from everyone made a difficult situation much easier.
Mum, unfortunately, died the day after her 90th birthday which the staff marked with a card, cake and a rendition of Happy Birthday around her bed which raised a smile during a sad and emotional day.
Throughout her stay, the thoughtfulness of all staff was self-evident for which we will always be very grateful.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.634)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.634) out of 10 for Baugh House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.634 for Baugh House is calculated as follows: ( (208 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 292 Ratings = 4.634
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Baugh House is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
