It was with a heavy heart that we had to put Mum into care. We viewed a few homes and were delighted when we viewed Avalon. It felt very homely and very clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. Mum seemed very settled after a week or so and we realised it was the best decision we made. Unfortunately because of the virus, we have not been able to see her as much as we would have wished but the staff have kept us informed and have sent us photos of Mum. They have also answered any emails that we have sent. We are very happy that Mum thinks of it as her home now.

When we first saw the home, we loved the set-up, the design, layout of the rooms and the friendly staff. When any of the family visits Mum, we are made to feels as if it is Mums home. The staff always show Mum the greatest of care and love. During the lockdown, we have been kept so well informed, we have had cards, e-mails and video calls with Mum. We can't fault the dedication of the staff, the facilities or the activities offered.

Due to the coronavirus, it is impossible to give a recent review. However, with what I experienced in Q1 of 2020 and how I was kept informed via facetime/cards etc during the height of the pandemic, I am confident that Avalon's level of care is still excellent.

My wife continues to have the very best of care from a dedicated staff and management team. During the covid-19 lockdown, the hands-on staff, nurses and support staff have a very involved daily routine, which cannot be faulted. They are very welcoming and also create a family atmosphere that instils confidence in the relatives and former carers. They keep us very informed by video and telephone.

The worst thing in the world was when Mom had to go into a nursing home for her own safety. The best thing has been choosing Avalon. All the staff are excellent in everything they do. They care for Mom as if she was their own with compassion, dignity and respect. Due to the staff, Mom has excelled since being in Avalon. I visit most days and always leave with peace of mind that Mom is in the best place. We, as a family, are made so welcome, nothing is ever any trouble. The fact that Mom has such great days (whatever her mood) is a sign of how good "Avalon" and all the staff are.

My husband has been a resident since December 2018, has dementia and is completely dependent on the care he receives from the staff.
The staff are excellent, tending to his physical needs with exceptional care and with special consideration to his dignity.

I am kept fully informed of all aspects of his care and health, regularly being involved in his care plan. Excellent support is also given to family and friends of residents.

My mum arrived at Avalon Care Home on Christmas Eve 2019 after spending many weeks in hospital. She, and us, received the warmest, caring reception from the office staff initially and then the care staff. We felt as though Christmas had arrived 1 day early. Since then we have visited almost every day, and without fail, there is always a lovely welcome from whoever happens to be around. I know that my mum is receiving wonderful care from all the staff. Everyone is so friendly and it feels like a big family. Not only is my mum cared for, but my dad and the rest of my family too. My mum is safe, clean, fed and spoken and treated with dignity. I can now leave each day knowing all these things and this helps me to relax and sleep better.

My wife had a fortnights respite care at the home. What impressed me at this time was the caring staff. We were taken to the lounge where we waited for a member of staff who entered the room and came over to us and introduced themselves and welcomed us. A fortnight late my wire became a resident full-time.

It has been a great relief to me that from that time to date sh has been very well looked after and treated very well. If my wife hadn't got dementia I think she would agree. Well done staff at Avalon

We find our experiences at Avalon Nursing Home extremely pleasant. It is bright, clean and tidy and the staff are very caring and willing to go out of their way to help you. The rooms are bright and cheerful as is the rest of the home with colourful items on the walls.

The garden is well maintained and a pleasure for the patients to enjoy. The food is good and my mother feels that the place is like home to her.

Our mother is a new resident and has so far been treated with dignity, warmth and care. We are in no doubt that due to the care and attention that our mother has been shown to date, we are confident that our mother is in a very caring and professional environment.

My husband has been cared for by Avalon for over a year now. Previously, he was in another care home but they could no longer cope with him.
The home is very caring both with my husband and myself. Nothing is too much trouble - they look after people individually and are always available if you have any concerns about your loved one.

I would recommend the home to everybody.
