We are blessed as a family to have our mum living safely at Avalon nursing home. She has been here 3 years now and is happy and smiley and dancing around so much. The staff are fabulous; so friendly and supportive. We couldn't wish for a better place for our wonderful mum to be living.

Avalon Nursing Home have been a great support during a very difficult time in her life. During the pandemic, my nan had to move nursing homes. Avalon were welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure my nan received the care and support she needed, providing all the care and support my nan needed to keep safe.

My husband stayed for respite on several occasions and found the nursing staff very caring and professional but I had a disappointing experience with reception. She was not at all helpful, in fact, she was very negative, as my husband was not expected to live long. He died in his sleep on 14.7.21 and she was not helpful with my niece who drove all the way from Windsor as she is my next of kin, the nurse in charge was lovely and caring.

I have been very happy with the way they treat my husband, encouraging him to join in with the activities. Also, I can see what they are doing to help him feel safe and cared for. A lovely home. Also the staff are so good.

The staff are amazing. My dad is very happy. The variety of stimulating clubs etc are superb. My dad is a fussy eater and the food he loves. Mostly the care, support and emotional attachment are inspirational. Dad's room is bright and beautiful - it is his little patch of his own space. Everywhere is like the place I would like to go and would recommend it to anyone having to make this difficult decision at the time. The staff allow and support for them to find their feet. They encourage integration with others.

I have found this Care Home extremely good. It was recommended by a friend. The staff are very kind and caring and always keep me up to date with what is happening. My husband settled in well with all the residents and staff. There are lots of activities for the residents and as visiting is so difficult at the moment it is lovely to see pictures on Facebook of the residents and staff during activities etc. I would certainly recommend the Avalon to my friends if in need.

My father was admitted to hospital last year and after being in there for 9 weeks it was deemed unsafe for Dad to return home due to his dementia as he lived on his own. Avalon Nursing Home was recommended to us and Dad was transferred to the care home. Due to covid I have only been able to visit the care home once, however I only have praise for the staff of the care home who made the transition from home to care home as stress free as possible for my dad. Since he has been there it has been challenging but the staff have done a great job assisting my dad who's dementia is slowly getting worse. I would highly recommend Avalon Nursing Home, Bridgwater.

Kind and helpful staff. My dad seems very happy and content here. I obviously miss him desperately, but every member of staff I talk to puts me at ease to know my dad is being shown love and respect. I'm also super pleased he's had his first Covid Vaccination.

My husband was under Avalon Nursing Home's care for only 11 weeks before he passed away in his sleep in October. In that short space of time, he was so looked after and couldn’t of wish for better care in his last days. Thank you so much to all the staff and management, who were so caring, you're all such marvellous people and should get recognised for more than you do! Especially in these difficult times with the Covid pandemic. Myself and my family would like to thank you all so much.

The nursing home is modern, very clean and welcoming. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. My visits have always been relaxed and the residents and staff are cheerful! There is plenty of car parking and I have always been welcomed and supported fully by the members of staff. A wonderful home that I am very happy for my aunt to reside in. Would definitely recommend to others.

My beloved wife was admitted to Avalon Nursing Home in Bridgwater on December 24th 2019. Due to the suddenness of my wife's deterioration and subsequent hospital assessment, we, as a family had no previous association with Avalon in Bridgwater.
The welcome greeting and immediate assurances that we received were so totally genuine and calming. Our relief was instant and immense. Thank you.
From day one, all of our subsequent moments of visiting and contact have been without exception the very best that anyone could ask for.

We are all as a family so very grateful to you all for the constant care and attention that you have always shown to my dearest wife.

We constantly say how lucky we are that Mum is at Avalon. The people are great and have kept us in touch with Mum throughout the lockdown, through photos and video calls. We feel she is in the best place possible as they care for her, not just in a physical sense. All the carers and nurses are just amazing. Mum's room is great, and the place is always clean, and they make the residents feel special on their birthdays.

At Christmas 2019, after a fall due to shingles and after months of medical treatment, my mother eventually came to Avalon House. She is in the best place she can be having lost her mobility and needing full nursing care and regular hoisting. The care worker and nurses look after her well and keep her happy as she moves from bed to throne armchair. She enjoys the food and the church service activities, along with regular TV. The staff keep me in contact with Mum by video phone during the pandemic, and hopefully soon we'll be able to visit more often.

My mum has been at Avalon for three and a half years, she is happy and content, and the care she receives from all members of staff is second to none. It is a pleasure to visit the home as there is always a warm welcome and space to spend time with your loved one in their room, one of the lounges or the individual family room. The activities team keep the residents busy and under normal circumstances, take residents out and about. Visiting has been difficult due to Covid, but the staff have been keeping in touch with updates, WhatsApp calls with mum, emails and general communication regarding mum's health and wellbeing.

I have complete confidence in all the staff at Avalon but particularly the nurses in charge. They have all looked after my husband in a caring and patient way. I do get updates all the time and reception inform me of any changes in rules regarding COVID recently. I have no complaints and I am grateful that I can feel reassured that my husband is safe and as comfortable as can be expected. Thank you Avalon staff!

My sister is always well looked after. She is happy, and I know the staff care for her needs.

I cant imagine how difficult it must have been over the last few months for all the care staff, but they still pull out all the stops to look after all the vulnerable residents. They all deserve our gratitude and a huge thank you.
