It is located within the new Quadrant development just off the A16, a short drive from the town itself. The purpose-built, 66-bed home is carefully designed with the residents at the forefront. Bedrooms are spacious and bright and residents are encouraged to personalise them for a homely feel.

Mum has been in the home since April 2021 and was moved from there after poor care at a different home. Mum's health was not good, yet the care given by staff at the home has transformed her. We truly were not sure we would ever get her mental health back and yet the dedication of staff has been instrumental
in her improvement. She is safe, cared for and content and I feel this is as much as we can ask for given her health conditions. I truly believe if she had remained where she was then she would not be here today, if physically, certainly not mentally. When calling, staff do know who she is and can tell you how she is or they are willing to go and find out. She is happy with all staff and they really do make her feel important and she is cared for physically well.
My only issue would be the staff numbers seem to have dwindled since first opening, however I don't feel it is a major issue with the level of care although bell wait times seem to have increased as well as waiting at the door.

My wife and I stayed after my operation as my wife has Alzheimer's and I care for her. We stayed almost two weeks. The home is immaculately furnished and the interior decorated and furnished. The rooms are large with TV etc. with plenty of robes and drawers and cupboard plus the fridge, ideal in July.
Lovely shower room. Dining on your own floor plus room service. Lovely gardens to walk around. Adequate meals for older people and those not well. The courteous and friendly staff at all times. Night call system. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff work hard and appear short-staffed at times. All in all, excellent and would come here again.

Mum has lived here since May 2021 and is happy and content at the home. The main thing is that she feels safe and looked after as she is registered blind and her sight has deteriorated since residing here. The staff are excellent with Mum's needs and the overall care in the home is excellent. Great
staff, atmosphere and social events.

My husband was a resident of Avocet House for over two years. The staff must have a revolving door entrance, there was a continuous stream of staff leaving employment there, and new staff starting. Three managers in two years. Record-keeping was poor. One staff member allegedly 'soaked his dentures'.
No. He has his own teeth!
Upon reaching the threshold to apply for county funding, and despite a promise made in August 2022 that we would not have to pay top-ups as he had been there for so long paying full fees, I was expected to pay a weekly top-up of £523, which I could not pay. I found an alternative care home for him. The day we moved him Avocet House refused to give us any paperwork (eg MAR chart, Respect form) quoting GDPR.
In the bag of medications handed over, there were numerous items dispensed in 2021, which he was no longer taking. The staff at the new care home spent ages on the phone with the GP surgery sorting out what he should (and shouldn't) be taking, and when.

Mum has been a resident at Avocet House for a year now having been placed from hospital. I am so happy with the care she receives and certainly could not provide the care she receives from everyone. Her health and welfare has improved and she is happy, warm and well cared for. She is extremely independent
but her needs were more than I could provide and the relief knowing she is safe is beyond words. The staff support her independence whilst giving her the help she needs.

My sister had a very rough time with a pacemaker followed by pneumonia and, at 90 years old, was really in a bad place. We luckily managed to secure a room at Avocet House on New Year's Eve and within 4 weeks of excellent care, my sister decided she wanted to stay at Avocet House for the foreseeable
future.
Surely this speaks volumes from a very within and sound-minded individual.
The only concern of late is the shortage of staff.

Staff always welcoming since Dec 2022, Mum came in for respite as I was so poorly and couldn't travel to Cleethorpes any more. Mum had Xmas with us and then went downhill afterwards. After being in the care home she came back to her normal self. Then had a couple of falls and a water infection. The
staff could not have done any more for her. Their responses were 100% at all times. Hope she comes out of the hospital shortly as the care home is excellent and value for money. Thank you.

Avocet House is a fantastic care home that can't do enough for my dad who has dementia. It is really clean, he is well catered for with food and constant care, he has everything he needs. The staff are fantastic. They understand his needs as much as is possible. They are at the end of a phone and can
adapt to his ever-changing requirements. It is a fantastic care home, that without their understanding and patience we, as a family, would have been lost. I have nothing but respect for how they help my dad. A highly rated care facility.

Lovely place - happy, warm environment with caring staff. Very clean and safe space. Comfortable rooms with a hotel feel with a luxury edge. Mum has been happy here and am so pleased to know Mum is in such a lovely place.

Lovely Sunday lunch for the residents today. Roast pork, stuffing, mashed potatoes, swede, broccoli and gravy. Followed by apple and strawberry crumble.
What's not to like? The lucky residents have recently been lucky enough to have had a country and western singer, including wine, an activity day
with skittles and hook a duck and most recently small animal petting. Great fun was had by all.

I was not happy with the care my father received during palliative care or the responses when this was brought to Avocet House's attention. Disappointed is an understatement for end-of-life care. Avocet House would not apologise in writing, only offer to meet us, then refused to correspond completely.
Appalling in every respect.

Poor care received, many issues during my relative's care at Avocet House, sad and very disappointed, lack of respect for residents, and simple care procedures were not carried out. More care/time needs to be given to the residents, especially during palliative care.

The level of care is very poor and extremely disappointed with how my relative was treated. Would not recommend this care home for palliative care. Staff and managers did not listen to family members' concerns about the poor level of care given.
Do not be fooled by its nice appearance. The care and
respect for residents are what matters and that is not given here.

I took my sister-in-law into Avocet House Care Home in December 2021. Since then she looks a lot happier and is very well cared for. She was 101 last week and was given a lovely day. Thanks to the wonderful staff who do a great job. The home itself is like a five-star hotel. They treat visitors in a
lovely, friendly manner and are always on hand if you need them. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Devastated with the lack of care, respect, and dignity shown to my grandad during his palliative care. My mum chose this care home because she thought the facilities were good and due to it being new presumed that they would want to get a good reputation hence it would be a good place for my grandfather.
I was very apprehensive as I had heard that Tanglewood care homes were not about giving the best care to residents but trying to get good reviews. Unfortunately, I was right. We were asked if we would like to give a review on our first visit. So glad we didn’t, my grandad's care was appalling due to not getting medical assistance when they said they had done, and did not support him at mealtimes. Did not attach a night catheter bag to name just a few of the problems we had. They ought to concentrate on giving care and not trying to push for reviews as soon as you enter the building, very misleading with the offer of tea and cake for visitors. Need to make sure the residents are supported and cared for.
