I was so looked after in the care home. The staff were so caring and nothing was too much trouble. I was in isolation for five days as I'd been in Wythenshawe Hospital and I was only allowed one visitor. I wasn't lonely though because members of the staff came in to chat. After that, I came and relaxed
in the rest room. I was very impressed with the food and I couldn't fault it.

After breaking my hip I was taken to hospital for surgery and after surgery and a brief stay, I was transferred to Bramhall Manor for further recuperation. At the time I was not very keen on the transfer, as all I wanted to do was go home. On transfer, it rapidly became apparent the move was an excellent
one as the care at Bramhall was superb, both clinical and pastoral. At this point I would normally give a special mention to anyone who stood out for excellence, however, all the staff would have to be mentioned for this purpose, as they were without exception, brilliant. Turning to the building itself. The bedrooms are a good size with an adjustable bed, a good size flat screen television, ample storage and an en-suite wet room. Views of the gardens. which are well maintained, and can be had from almost anywhere in the building. Available to residents is a comfortable lounge and dining room. Artwork and decoration give the whole building a cheerful atmosphere.

My mum in law was receiving end of life care in Bramhall Manor. The nursing staff and the care assistant staff were quite simply outstanding. Their expert care and their compassion towards my mum in law, was beyond anything we could have expected. The staff on reception were so kind to us as a family
and gave us moral support every day. The family tried to be at the bedside all day and into the evening and so the kitchen staff kept us sustained with sandwiches and tea/ coffee. I cannot tell you how much this was appreciated. As a family, we owe everyone at Bramhall Manor, a huge debt of gratitude.

My husband came to you, three weeks ago, very weak and malnourished after several months in hospital. The care, compassion and understanding of my husband's situation was amazing and he and I, felt he was safe. Congratulations must be given to the chef and his staff for the wonderful and appetising
food. So thank you, to everyone at Bramhall Manor, we won't forget your kindness.

My stepdad was discharged from the hospital to Bramhall Manor in December 2021. He cannot sing the praises of the home and the staff enough. Although her is very poorly since coming to the home, he has thrived. He has put on weight and looks "well". The last time we visited, he told me that "he would
never forget the care he has been given" until the day he died. He also said the food was excellent.

Yesterday we had to leave Bramhall Manor as my Dad had improved and it is a short-term assessment place but I can honestly say that in leaving I feel like I have lost a family. Every single staff member involved in my Dad's care was kind, genuine and caring. I don't know how this care center recruits
but whoever does it does it right. My Dad is now classed as palliative due to his long-term lung condition and I had some very dark moments during which all staff, no matter how busy they were, were just perfect and experienced. My Dad was treated with the most care and respect we could ask for and the staff were equally sad to see Dad leave the center to go to a more palliative environment. I want to thank you all from my heart. Dad was there roughly a month and what an impact you all made on us. I mean everyone, care assistants, nurses, doctors, domestics, receptionists, managers, catering, physios, maintenance, OT's and sorry if I missed anyone. You should be the benchmark standard.
Reply from Dawn Collett, Commissioning Director at Bramhall Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write this review at what must be a difficult time for you, your dad and family. I will pass your comments onto all the team involved, they will really appreciate your kind words.

My mum was discharged from hospital into Bramhall Manor Care Centre whilst her care home nearer home was waiting for a lift repair. Even though my mum was only there for 8 days she was well cared for. The Manager showed lots of empathy towards my family arranging safe Covid visits. Many thanks from

Overall a comfortable experience with the service, food and care quite good. There was obviously a shortage of staff particularly at night when I had to wait some time before my call was answered. The quality of care was not consistent, some staff took a bit more pride in their work and I think this
an area that could be improved.

Our only concern was the timing of my mother's Parkinson's drugs and when they were administered. It has to be a set regime of timings in order for her to be functional physically and mentally i.e a booster drug being administered nearly two hours late is a waste of time and caused mum a lot of anguish.
Other than his everything has been excellent thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.703)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.703) out of 10 for Bramhall Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.703 for Bramhall Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (236 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 303 Ratings = 4.703
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramhall Manor Care Home is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I qualified in 1995 in Leicester as one of the first Project 2000 diploma nurses. I then worked in Reading and Cheltenham for the NHS before moving to care homes in 2007, and moved to Cheadle Hulme in 2009. I have worked in a Clinical Lead role since 2017.

My background and passion are stroke care, end-of-life care and looking after people living with dementia. I love to mentor and coach people on how to give good care to people living with dementia, putting the person first and dementia second. New Care has the values that I hold dear as a nurse, which is putting the resident at the centre of everything we do and building a new team at Bramhall Manor means we can move forward with that philosophy as a team.

Carina

Carina

Job Title: Clinical Lead

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2009 and have worked predominantly within Community Nursing. During this time, I completed my Specialist Practitioner Postgraduate Degree, which gave me the skills to lead and develop services in the management of people with long-term health conditions, frailty and palliative care. I was also fortunate to attend a programme with the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and successfully became one of the first community nurses in the UK to receive the title of Florence Nightingale Community Nurse.

My passion has always been delivering excellent care and exceeding expectations, not only for the residents but also for their family and friends. By treating each person as an individual and tailoring their needs through evaluation and feedback, I aim to promote and deliver the highest standard of care delivery where compassion meets expertise.

I am proud to be part of this fantastic team here at Bramhall Manor, and alongside our Home Manager, Head of Care, Nurses, Team Leads, Carers and Ancillary Staff, we strive to deliver uncompromising quality in every touch.

Candice

Job Title: Head of Care

My name is Candice, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Head of Care at Bramhall Manor. Care has been close to my heart both personally and professionally since 2007. I started out as a Care Assistant and worked my way up to a Deputy Manager position before seeking a new challenge elsewhere. I am now proud to be part of a fantastic team here at Bramhall Manor.

For me, care is a passion, and I take pride in providing all aspects of care to a very high standard. I strive to treat the residents in my care as I would my own family. I like to go home at the end of the day knowing I have done all I can to help provide care and support to the residents, families and staff in our home.

Care for me is not just about the residents but also their families and friends. I understand on a personal level the difficulties faced by families when the time comes to seek extra care for their relatives. Having a service you can trust is of the utmost importance. I strive to provide support to the family and friends of our residents, and I’m always here to lend an ear and offer any support I can.

Job Title: Team Leader

With more than 10 years’ experience in care, predominantly within the mental-health sector, I joined Bramhall Manor in 2022 and have never looked back. I started my journey here as a Carer and have since progressed to Team Leader.

My passion is making somebody’s day a little brighter, and at Bramhall Manor, that comes naturally. The warmth, kindness, and welcoming spirit of both residents and staff make every day meaningful.

I have a particular passion for dementia care, and I’m committed to supporting each resident with compassion, dignity, and understanding.

If you asked my friends to describe me, they’d say I’m funny, caring, compassionate, honest, and a natural leader.

Bramhall Manor isn’t just where I work; it’s where I feel proud to make a difference.

Job Title: Head Chef

I’ve worked at Bramhall Manor as Head Chef for three years. Before this, I worked in hotels across the UK, including London, Newcastle, and the Lake District. I love working at Bramhall because it gives me the chance to really get to know our residents—their likes, dislikes, and the stories behind their love of food. I’ve even learned a tip or two from some of our dab-hand bakers!

Hayley

Hayley

Job Title: Head of Hospitality

My name is Hayley, and I'm the Head of Hospitality here at Bramhall Manor.

Cooking has always been a true passion of mine, and I'm proud to hold both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in professional cookery. I joined the team four years ago, and for over a year now, I've had the privilege of leading the hospitality team – a role that allows me to combine my love for food with my dedication to creating a warm, welcoming environment for our residents.

Caring is something that has shaped me from a young age. I've been a carer for my mum since I was 10, and that experience taught me compassion, patience and the importance of making others feel valued. I always knew I wanted to use those experiences to support others, and working at Bramhall Manor truly feels like an honour.

Every day I'm grateful for the chance to meet incredible people and listen to the stories that have shaped their lives. I'm easy going, outgoing and compassionate – and I bring that energy into everything I do.

George

George

Job Title: Resident Committee

My name is George, and I'm proud to be an honorary team member here at Bramhall Manor, serving on the residents' committee.

I was born on 19th August 1946 and grew up in Heaton Moor, where I developed a love of learning and made friendships I still treasure. After school, I worked at The Co-op in customer service – I've always enjoyed meeting people and helping where I can.

Family means everything to me. I'm devoted to my sister Judy and my nephews Andrew, Michael and Philip, who I'm very proud of.

I've always believed in giving back. Before coming to Bramhall Manor, I volunteered for two years at the Primus Community Centre in Stockport, helping in the kitchen and welcoming people through the doors. Now, I'm delighted to continue that spirit here as part of the residents' committee.

One of the things I enjoy most is visiting the first floor to spend time with friends and sit with anyone who might need a bit of company. I love trips out, meeting new people and having a good chat. If I can brighten someone's day with a smile or a friendly hello, that makes my day too.

Joe

Joe

Job Title: Wellbeing Assistant

My name is Joe, and I've been part of the team here at Bramhall Manor since January 2025.

My background is in entertainment, which has been fantastic in this role. I love bringing a smile to the residents' faces with bad puns and cheesy dance moves. There's nothing better than sharing a laugh and brightening someone's day.
