Mum spent several weeks at Bramhall Manor whilst her care needs were being assessed after a hospital stay. The staff were helpful and supportive especially the discharge team who were involved in finding a nursing home placement for mum. The welfare team worked hard to provide opportunities for the
family to visit mum indoors and hold video calls so we could stay in touch. The facilities are excellent and feel like a hotel rather than a care centre. I would recommend Bramhall Manor to anyone who is looking for a care placement. Mum said she didn't want to move at the point where a nursing home place was found! Thank you all.

I have found Bramhall Manor an excellent place in which to stay. The accommodation provided is of a very high standard, including a spacious lounge with comfortable seating and a high-class dining room where delicious meals are served. The bedrooms (all ensuite) have televisions, a nice armchair, a
round table where toy can sit near the large window, which has very beautiful curtains. All in all, I think it would be difficult to find a better hotel, and I think I was very fortunate to be sent to Bramhall Manor Care Home to continue getting my leg stronger after being in the hospital.

Mum had to have extra care after the hospital; we were very pleased to hear she had gone to Bramgall Manor. The care she was given was amazing; she couldn't praise all the staff enough. She felt like it was a wonderful experience, almost like being in a hotel. It's just been very sad times due to Covid.
Bramhall Manor has excelled themselves in every area to accommodate all that has been required from them.

My grandma has just come home.
She has been in Bramhall Manor after having Covid and being unable to come home from hospital.
She, unfortunately, has lost her mobility but we could not have asked for better care whilst she was at the home. The staff are amazing, I couldn’t be more appreciative of
what they did for my grandma and I am just so glad she had lovely people who really care, it isn’t just a job, they take care and interest in their residents.

Mum came to Bramhall Manor after being discharged from hospital. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated due to an existing illness but the level of care and attention she received during her final weeks was excellent. Despite the current pandemic, the staff made arrangements for me and my family
to visit which provided comfort for all concerned. I can't thank the team enough for their efforts on our behalf, making a difficult situation more bearable.

My mum has been given 5star care here and I have been delighted with all aspects of this nursing home, from the lovely carers, the wonderful food she has enjoyed and especially the lovely welfare lady who has made visits possible in extremely difficult circumstances. My mum has often referred to her
care as like being in a 5-star hotel, and I would whole heartededly agree.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.686)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.686) out of 10 for Bramhall Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.686 for Bramhall Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (224 Excellents x 5) + (56 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 293 Ratings = 4.686
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramhall Manor Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 registered maximum number of service users is 14.2, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I qualified in 1995 in Leicester as one of the first Project 2000 diploma nurses. I then worked in Reading and Cheltenham for the NHS before moving to care homes in 2007 and moved to Cheadle Hulme in 2009. I have worked in a Clinical Lead role since 2017.

My background and passion is stroke care, end-of-life care and looking after people living with dementia. I love to mentor and coach people on how to give good care to people living with dementia, putting the person first and dementia second. New Care has the values that I hold dear as a nurse which is putting the resident at the centre of everything we do and building a new team at Bramhall Manor means we can move forward with that philosophy as a team.
