Outstanding care home with delightful staff and a lovely environment.
My mum has settled in well and has been encouraged to take part in numerous activities.
I only wish it were a nursing home as well.
It would be hard to find a more perfect care home anywhere.

My mother came to Brampton Manor reluctantly after a car accident in which her dominant hand was injured and she was unable to care for herself and we were in the midst of house renovations and unable to look after her. During her two weeks of respite care, the wonderful staff went out of their way
to make her feel welcome and to look after her every need.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for choosing Brampton Manor for respite, I know your mum really enjoyed her stay, having had plenty of things to do and people to spend time with. If you need us in the future, please do get back in touch.

From my first contact with Brampton Manor, I was impressed by the friendly and informative staff and the feeling of a caring and compassionate environment. This continued during our initial visit to have a look around right through Mum's short-term stay. Mum made friends very quickly - a jigsaw buddy
on her first day - and was impressed with the care shown to her, the activities she took part in and the relaxed atmosphere. She loved her room and enjoyed walks around the lovely garden. I was very happy that we had left Mum in safe hands.

My mother has been a resident of Brampton Manor for seven months now, her room is delightful and has a wonderful view, it is like a home from home, with her personal belongings decorating it. She settled very quickly into the way of life there, with both structure and freedom. The meals are greatly
varied with all tastes catered for and she enjoys them very much.
The social activities are a great hit with discussions, arts and crafts and physical games such as carpet bowls and skittles being amongst her favourites as she and my father used to be in a bowls team in their younger days. As her needs have changed so the care given has adapted. I would highly recommend this residential care home.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for a wonderful review, your mum has thrived living at Brampton Manor and we really enjoy looking after her. Her enthusiasm and positive nature rub off on the other residents within the home. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us feedback.

My mother-in-law has been a resident since January 2023. She was made very welcome with her expectations and wishes considered. Whilst she initially had some reservations regarding residential care, she quickly made friends and settled in so well. The care given to her has been exemplary with members
of staff taking the time to get to know her and all the residents as individuals. As a family, we are always welcome, especially the youngest members and the babies! As her next of kin, I am always kept informed and updated with menus and activities. Mother-in-law is certain she has made the right decision for her future care and so do we all, as her extended family.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for leaving us your feedback, your mother-in-law has really settled in well. Her wonderful personality and humour has contributed to making Brampton Manor a warm and social place to live and she has made a lot of new friends here which is great for her and the other residents at Brampton Manor.

Our mother moved into Brampton Manor last November and initially found it very difficult to settle and understand what was happening, due to the early stages of dementia. However, both staff and management have been extremely patient, caring and compassionate and as a result, she is now settled and
thriving in her new environment. She even joins in with the daily activities which we never thought would happen. Communication between staff and relatives has also been excellent and although always professional, they are all very approachable and happy to help in any way that they can. The facilities, surroundings, food etc cannot be faulted, but by far the most important thing for us as a family, is knowing that Mum is safe, happy and being very well cared for. While making the decision for Mum to move to a care home was very difficult, we have no doubt that we made the right decision with Brampton Manor.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for taking the time to leave a review for Brampton Manor. Making the decision to move a loved one into care is always difficult. To see your mum now, living her best life, making friends and being genuinely happy has been very rewarding for myself and the team. I will pass on your feedback to the care and activities team as they deserve all the praise and proves that the staff here at Brampton Manor really do make a difference.

All the staff at Brampton Manor, from reception through to catering, have the highest professionalism and show great care towards their residents. My father was the first to arrive at Brampton nearly two years ago (June 2021). He is 98 years old and bedridden, but if it wasn’t for the loving care he
continues to receive, he certainly would not still be with us. The staff monitor him constantly, knowing he has only a short time left and it is such a comfort for our family that he is in such good hands. If you are wanting a place for a relative to live out their final time in comfort and surrounded by caring professionals, then Brampton Manor will provide for all their needs right to the last moment. My dad has had the best of times here and now his end is close, I feel he is ready for his next journey.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorWhat a lovely review to leave for us, we are very lucky to look after your dad who has been part of our family since we opened. Since my mother has arrived at Brampton Manor in November she has received the most amazing care from all staff and management under difficult circumstances. Not only has she been well cared for, but they have also offered care and reassurances to myself and the rest of the family. Jokingly we have
asked to be put on the waiting list for when we require assistance. All the team have so much patience with everybody they care for including family members. For anyone looking for the best care for their family members, we would highly recommend Brampton Manor.

I came at Christmas in 2021 for respite and realised I really wanted to stay. I really like the staff. They really do their best and I do have my favourites which I know I shouldn’t. I really enjoy coming out for lunch with other ladies I now call my friends. Overall I am looked after very well and
would recommend the home to anyone needing to be looked after.

My mum has been a resident at Brampton Manor for just over eleven weeks. It is always a difficult decision to move a close relative into residential care, but Brampton Manor has been so wonderful every step of the way. When we suddenly needed to rush mum’s admission after she had had a fall, all the
admission staff were extremely accommodating, understanding and professional, going over and beyond our expectations. The Brampton Manor building and accommodation are beautifully light, bright and welcoming, and Mum’s room is perfect. It feels like a home from home. Visiting is always a positive experience, and all care/nursing staff are more than willing to take the time to chat and update us on mum’s progress. It is a joy to see mum so settled and content, and we are extremely glad we chose Brampton Manor for Mum; it has a perfect warm family feel, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

My mother-in-law became a resident in late August. We were firstly comforted by meeting the manager, who travelled a considerable distance to introduce herself and a thorough insight on how Brampton Manor operates. We were delighted when we first entered the building and reassured by the very friendly
staff and tidiness of the rooms.
Our initial thoughts have been maintained on each of our subsequent visits.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. I take great pride in meeting our residents before they move to Brampton Manor. Brampton is a caring and supportive environment where Mum is settling in well and thriving. Mum loves the mixture of daily organized activities, which are carefully thought through and run by a very motivated and imaginative team, with relatives invited.
Communication is good and the growing team of
staff is caring and professional, giving support where needed, but supporting independence. The care team is rotated between floors, which at first is confusing, but now makes sense as the team gets to know all the residents equally, making it welcoming on each of the floors. Overall, management and interactions have been good with respect to admission, accounts and requests. The standard of cleanliness is excellent from rooms and shared areas, to laundry. The dining is superb! The overall feeling of Brampton is that it is a welcoming, homely environment that is more like a home rather than a 'traditional care' environment.
Reply from Zoe Kirk, Home Manager at Brampton ManorThank you for leaving such a lovely review. We believe in teamwork and we cannot do what we do without our staff working together. Mum has really taken to life at Brampton Manor and enjoys the social activities we have daily and it is a pleasure to be supporting her.

My mum has Alzheimer's and I have looked after her on my own for six years. She then got very ill and infirm and my own health was beginning to suffer. I had to make the very tough decision that I could no longer look after her needs. Brampton Manor was the answer to my prayers. Stepping through their
door is like walking into a warm enveloping hug. The staff are the kindest, most empathetic people and they take great pride in providing many activities for the residents. They don't only look after Mum, they care about me too. The carers are so kind and good to Mum and they love her warm smile. Nothing is too much trouble for them. After one month, Mum is settled, content and her health has improved considerably. I am confident in the knowledge that she is safe, well fed and looked after and I am no longer stressed. I cannot praise the home enough.

My mother needed urgent full-time care as her health and mental well-being had deteriorated to the point my sister and I could no longer keep her safe. I contacted Brampton Manor, and the admissions manager was incredible. He was kind and empathetic and recognised our need for help. Mum was admitted
as a matter of urgency, and the staff at Brampton Manor were absolutely lovely and treated all of us with real compassion. It’s a really tough decision to have to make after looking after Mum for so long at home and watching her mental health decline so rapidly. The staff helped with that burden. Brampton Manor is clean, bright, airy and beautifully laid out with lots of quiet areas and communal rooms, so Mum has a choice if she needs quiet relaxation or joins in daily activities it’s up to her. She has access to the garden and even trips into town if it takes her fancy. I can, at last, relax at night knowing Mum is safe and secure, just love everything about Brampton Manor.

A fabulous place and I can't praise the staff enough for how they looked after my father during his respite stay. This was all staff, carers, chefs and management. They were very proactive in helping arrange his stay, very welcoming and attentive to my father at all times during his stay. All of which
gave our family peace of mind.
We would not hesitate to use Brampton Manor again. I would say though, that for respite stay, it would be more beneficial for the residents to have a larger and more tranquil room, overlooking the gardens.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.931) out of 10 for Brampton Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.931 for Brampton Manor is calculated as follows: ( (356 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 379 Ratings = 4.931
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brampton Manor is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months.
