Caddington Grove Care Home Reviews (105)
Caddington Grove Care Home has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.863) out of 10, based on 31 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Caddington Grove Care Home has 105 reviews.
She has a great room, private bathroom, laundry done, three meals a day and a variety of entertainment and activities. We've put some personal items in, e.g. chair, pictures, ornaments and lamps to make it feel like her home. She now takes her medications correctly and has hospital appointments taken care of.
She's made new friends but still spends time with her old friends. She's able to go out with friends/relatives to the theatre, cafes and zoo.
The staff are friendly and approachable. They are good at giving me any information I need.
The move to the care home has meant that we (daughters) feel happy knowing that she is cared for, can't get into any danger and is happy. She's involved in activities in the home that she wouldn't do whilst living at her home. So she's definitely improved her quality of life.
It is our absolute pleasure having Mum here with us and she is always so happy and gets involved in everything we do. Thank you for leaving such a kind review. I will pass this on to the Caddington team.
Unfortunately, my dad was only there a short time as he approached the end of his life but during our time there I experienced a first-class level of care and commitment from a brilliant, dedicated and well-trained team.
The truly wonderful staff went above and beyond to meet my dad's needs, as well as trying to look after me too whilst I stayed with him.
If you need to find somewhere safe and beautiful where love, care and dignity are the priorities for your family member, look no further than Caddington Grove Care Home!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review at a time when things were difficult for you. We appreciate your words and the whole team works very hard to make sure all our residents are treated with warmth, care, love and dignity. We thank you for choosing Caddington Grove and wish you well.
Mum has been at Caddington Grove Care Home for over three years now and is well looked after. Despite the deterioration in Mum's dementia, the staff still show the same level of care and the ability to engage with her even though she can no longer engage with all the activities. Overall, I am very satisfied with the level of care provided, although the level of staff turnover is a concern. Some continuity would be very welcome.
Thank you for leaving a positive review for Caddington Grove. We appreciate your kind comments about the continuous level of care that Mum receives and we are proud that our staff work tirelessly to ensure all our residents are cared for in the best way possible with a happy environment.
My mother was only there for approximately eighteen months but in that time she developed a wonderful relationship with the care staff who treated her with dignity and kindness which was heartwarming to see. Normally not a mixer, they encouraged her to participate in activities and despite her really wanting to be in her own home, she was very happy with her lot. The home itself is very comfortable and clean. The end-of-life care was wonderful with the staff bending over backwards to make her remaining days as joyous as possible. The chef even cooked meals for her that she could manage. I'm putting my name down now.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind review. We all loved your mum and her character so much. Her beaming smile will never be forgotten by anyone who met her. We welcome such positive comments from you and hope this will assist other families in their decision when choosing a home for their loved ones.
Mum has been at Caddington Grove Care Home nearly three years and is well looked after. Her condition improved when she was admitted and that was down to the care of the staff, their ability to engage with her and the stimulating activities. Despite the deterioration in Mum's dementia, the staff still show the same level of care and the ability to engage with her even though she can no longer engage with all the activities. Overall, I am very satisfied with the level of care provided.
Thank you for taking the time out to leave a review for us and we are pleased that you recognise the care and dedication of our staff with all of our lovely residents. We will continue with the standard that you expect.
If needs be, I would definitely try and get him back into Caddinhton Grove.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a lovely review. Our team work tirelessly to ensure all our residents are cared for in the best way possible. We will be more than happy to help if you needed more care for your husband in the future months.
Fantastic care. Very sympathetic staff. Respectful. So lovely. Heaven before heaven. Very highly recommended.
Thank you for such kind words and we would like to pass on our sincere condolences at this sad time. It was our pleasure indeed to help you through such a difficult time and I will pass on your thanks to the team.
My mother's stay at Caddington Grove has been an experience that will long live in her memory. The transformation to where she was on arrival to where she is now on departure is quite amazing, and this is all down to the staff and Carers. The medical treatment at the start and their gentle encouragement to enable her to walk unassisted was pivotal to her recovery, and from there onwards my mother fully embraced life at the Grove. The activities and programmes organised by the staff have helped mum to make many friends and fully enjoy Grove life. Mum would especially want to acknowledge the staff's friendly manner, always ready to lend a helping hand, greet with a smile, or stop for a chat. Much thanks to you all.
We thank you for such a lovely honest review. The staff will certainly miss your mother and we wish her all the best now she has been able to move home again.
The home is well presented and clean. The room size is good, storage is limited so consider which possessions to take carefully, but rooms are well maintained. Staff are polite and helpful but very busy so communication can feel rushed. The telephone system makes contact difficult with the residents, hard to get through and hard to hear on the portable phone they use. Communication is not always shared between staff. My Mum seems happy and looked after but would like more to do and to go outside more frequently. Walking has become an issue now for her and opportunities to exercise are few. Regular walks for those who are able would be beneficial to maintain the fitness levels they had upon moving in. Mum is safe and security is good. It would be nice to know more about her days and things she has been doing, communication is the main thing I would like to see improved.
Very friendly people but seem to see different people when we visit, Mum gets frustrated when we don't have a cup of tea with her, I don't know policy on this. Don't know how many baths she has but her fingernails are always dirty, her vase disappeared and it's got her number on.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Firstly I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your comments about our team – they are dedicated to delivering an outstanding care experience for each and every one of our residents and we are incredibly proud of them. To confirm, you...
The receptionist is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I would like to see all the members of staff wearing name badges. It was lovely to see residents sitting talking to the nurse at her nurses' station and other residents being free to walk up and down the floor. The emailed newsletter is a great idea, long may it continue. On leaving, it made me happy to see the residents making the most of the gardens.
My mother has been looked after incredibly well since coming to the home in August 2021. She has never done so much and she is interactive with the entertainment programmes and other residents. Mum is safe and very well cared for and, as a family, we have peace of mind.
Only criticism is that updates on visit availability is sometimes lacking. An example is when Covid was at its peak, in some instances Caddington Grove Care Home was closed to visitors but sadly we were not advised immediately.
The food - not the best (certainly not hot and comforting) and the very few who would go to the dining room for meals had to wait for a long time as the staff were making and then delivering to the rooms on trays!
Even had an incident where when a relative rang to book a visit was told the resident had left that day - very worrying at the time.
Overall the friendly staff made it bearable.
Thank you for your review and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your comments about our wonderful team. We are sorry to hear other areas didn’t match the high standards we expect and hope to address this for you. Our team are committed to delivering an enjoyable dining experience,...
Uncle and aunt have resided at Caddington Grove since March 2021, following a stroke. They have both been treated with great dignity, kindness and the care has been second to none. I live over 150 miles away and they have no close support other than the staff. My mind has been completely put at rest with the care given and the professionalism shown towards their individual needs and requirements. Having visited the home recently, the safety and cleanliness provisions in place together with the Covid awareness is outstanding. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care given despite a lack of acceptance sometimes shown by the recipients. Many thanks.
Mum is very happy at Caddington Grove, staff are very caring, it's hard to report about what's going on, as since lockdown I have not been able to go in, when I can I am sure I will be able to do the things I would like for mum e.g. sorting clothes etc. Many thanks to all staff at this trying time.
Caddington Grove is a wonderful home to live in. My Dad is safe, comfortable, independent, stimulated and smiling again. The homemakers have succeeded in helping him to live his life again where dementia took it away. As a family, we have all been helped to enjoy Dad again and not to worry for him. We couldn't have asked for more. I look forward to visiting Dad in his new home with all his home comforts and warmth and I never feel I want to leave or that I have to. Our expectations have been far exceeded at Caddington Grove. If ever faced with having to move away from home, we honestly recommend considering this home. Our Dad has kept his independence with the best support he needs to live. Residents are listened to and respected at Caddington Grove and families well informed. We thank you all for your caring approach especially at the most difficult time of life.
The care provided at Caddington Grove goes way beyond what we expected for Mum. I live abroad and was just lucky enough to squeeze 3 days visiting before lockdown happened. The standard of care is exceptional. It's care like I have never witnessed. The way the staff are with each resident is charming. The atmosphere is calm and happy, difficult to achieve in such an environment. Every resident is constantly given the time and dedication that they need when they need it. Residents are encouraged to partake in conversation keeping them stimulated and happy and they are constantly encouraged to drink so that everyone is properly hydrated. The highest respect is given to everyone and this alone creates such a happy place. Mum has blossomed since being there. Previously her behaviour was difficult to control but the change in her is miraculous, to say the least. Lockdown has been incredibly difficult for everyone but the staff have ensured Mum Skypes me each day which has been incredible. I can't praise Caddington Grove enough.
Living in north London we wondered if staying in a care home Dunstable would suit her, however due to the care given by the staff at Caddington Grove and the quality of the home she settled after day one. Often referring to be in a 5* hotel with wine etc at dinner.
One of the things we liked about Caddington Grove was that we could monitor all interventions basically on an hourly update via the home’s gateway, this was especially helping when the home went into lockdown.
Although my aunt was only in the home for some 8 months, we know that she enjoyed being there and was looked after extremely well by the caring staff at the home. Unfortunately, she passed away during the lockdown.
In his final days, they were again very kind and we were allowed to visit him on his final day and say goodbye. I would recommend the home.

A registered nurse, Emma came to Caddington Grove as the Clinical Lead and was promoted to Home Manager in October 2022. With a Diploma in Adult Nursing with over 15 years experience, Emma led teams in the acute and primary sector before joining Hamberley. A skilled people manager, Emma enjoys recruiting and leading dedicated and skilled teams to provide outstanding care. Outside of her professional life, Emma loves Christmas - and if it were up to her, the Christmas decorations would be up in July! Emma enjoys every moment spent with her children and extended family.
“Our care home is a sanctuary of comfort and care, thoughtfully designed to meet your needs. Every member of the Caddington team is committed to providing personalised support in an environment filled with warmth and understanding.”

I joined the care sector after many years working with both the UK and US governments, where I advised on and managed relocation policies. While my past career journey gave me valuable experience in problem-solving, communication, and supporting people through big life changes, I felt a strong pull to take my career in a more personal and meaningful direction.
After caring for my late mother, I realised how deeply rewarding it is to support and help families and individuals during challenging times. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in care, where I can give back to society in a hands-on way and make a direct difference in people’s lives.
Outside of work, I have a love for travelling the world and exploring new cultures, as well as reading a wide variety of books to keep learning and broadening my perspective.
