First-class, compassionate care delivered by a team of lovely people.
Well-designed, purpose-built premises which are well-maintained and clean.

A real sense of community and a generous, personalised, private space. Five stars and a bonus star because you always give that little bit extra. We are extremely grateful for the care and dignity that you provided for mum in her twilight years.

Despite the best intentions of the staff, we did not have a good experience at Castle Brook (and have since launched an investigation into their standard of care). My mother had just been through an extremely traumatic experience which, coupled with her dementia, left her in an extremely vulnerable state. Staff were not adequately trained and could not handle complex care and dementia needs. We, as a family, were horrified by the state that we found her in when we came to visit on numerous occasions.

Having said that, I think Castle Brook is a nice care home if your loved one doesn't have complex dementia needs and the staff were, on the whole, kind and willing to help but just didn't have the necessary level of training. We subsequently had to move my mother to another home where they are able to provide the right support for her and she is now much calmer and happier.

Reply from Jo Bullingham, General Manager at Castle Brook

We're sorry to hear that you feel you did not have a good experience at Castle Brook. Having supported a very swift admission for your mother during a period of sudden change for her, it became apparent as we got to know her that her needs were higher than we can provide for as a residential and...

I travelled from Australia to visit my mother, all of the staff I met were lovely and made sure my visit was the best it could be. Everyone made me feel welcome. Thank you everyone, I am travelling home soon, happy in the knowledge that Mum is being cared for by a dedicated team.

My aunt's dementia had worsened beyond the point where she could continue to live safely at home, even with four hours of professional support and family visits every day. We looked for a home where she could continue to live her life with as much freedom of choice as possible. She doesn't like company, being told what to do or being kept inside and is extremely determined and very fit, letting you know exactly what she thinks and how cross she is, even without the appropriate words.
At Castle Brook Care Home we found the best fit. The staff are so kind, even in very difficult circumstances,# and find ways to ensure my aunt thinks she is in charge of her life, giving her choices during the day, allowing her to roam wherever she likes inside and outside, not enforcing eating times but making sure she eats properly. However, there is always a kind carer close by if she gets lost or confused.

I am pleased to say that my aunt still lives her own life, on her own terms but within a very supportive home.

My mum is very well cared for, all the staff are kind and supportive. They are so kind to Mum, they don't just look after her, they care for her.
There are activities available for Mum to take part in if she wants to. Someone comes in and plays their guitar for her. Mum loves this.
All Mum's needs are catered for. Mum is so grateful, as am I.

Thank you, Castle Brook.

Wonderful care home and staff!
My 94-year-old mom had fallen at home and was admitted to the local hospital with a broken arm. After seven-nine days, the hospital decided to discharge her home with a care package of four thirty-minute visits a day. The decision was made despite family concerns for her dignity and safety.
After a week, my mom's health deteriorated due to anxiety and using the broken arm.
After a review by the community therapists, my mom was moved to Castle Brook Care Home at very short notice on a very busy Friday evening.
From the moment we set through the door the manager and colleagues made my mom feel so welcome and gave us so much reassurance that she would receive outstanding care.
The home is beautiful and her room was like one in a four-star hotel.
My mom had lost weight and interest in reading and watching TV.

But with the excellent care and goals set by the care home manager, within a month my mom was totally rehabilitated. I need more than a thousand words to say a big thank you.

Thank you to all the carers at Castle Brook Care Home. We have all been through a difficult time over the last couple of years. Without your professionalism in taking care of our mother and her needs, we as a family would have been at a loss.

My father was moved to this care home after being in hospital for a number of weeks. It is a clean and spacious care home and the choice of meals are very good. My father is happy here and feels safe. He is well looked after. I am now able to visit him whenever I wish and have the necessary contacts at the home should I require them.

A friendly feeling home, I think that there could be more interaction between carers and residents. The food is good, could be more attention to detail, e.g. clothes and items missing from residents room, better housekeeping required.

Staff at Castle Brook Care Home seem to genuinely care about their residents and their families. They communicate well.

My father and stepmother shared a very comfortable suite prior to my father’s death. They were given the opportunity to look after themselves where possible. Staff handled my father’s rapidly changing condition with kindness and gentleness, adapting to his needs. They continue to handle my stepmother’s grief with care and understanding.

The care team's commitment and understanding are exceptional, our mother is happy, content, eating and enjoying her food, taking part in all social aspects and activities, she has friends and enjoys all that is on offer at this care facility. The team really do care and this is reflected in a happy, cared for Mum. Thank you.

When my parents moved into Castle Brook Care Home this was my very first experience of care homes. I was concerned, having heard all sorts of stories. I had absolutely no need to be worried. Right from the start my parents were treated with great care and respect and looked after beautifully. Not only that, my whole family have been included in the Castle Brook family, we are kept fully informed at every step, we can read online everything my parents have done during the day. When Dad had to go into hospital, my confused Mum was looked after with the greatest kindness.

My parents enjoy their food and it’s a great comfort to know they are eating well. All the staff are friendly, kind and very helpful. At the start, I asked a lot of what seemed silly questions. My queries were always answered with sensitivity and I was never made to feel it was a silly question. I can’t recommend Castle Brook enough. I am extremely pleased with every aspect. It really is ‘a care home‘ in the best sense.

Our father is very happy at Castle Brook Care Home. He first went for rehabilitation and we finally had to arrange the care permanently. He is in a warm, comfortable environment where the carers treat him well, as if in a family.

He has a pureed diet and enjoys the food. He also likes lots of cups of tea and biscuits and they are always available. He enjoys the company of other residents and although he has dementia he knows his carers and permanent staff. The staff are lovely with him. Best move we made arranging his care there after looking after him 24-hours a day for several years.

I recently moved my uncle into Castle Lodge from another care home following an admission to hospital.

I have been absolutely blown away by the care, support and kindness shown by the staff at the home. My uncle has had a challenging start with falls and paramedic visits but the staff have managed everything with compassion and sensitivity. He was very unhappy in the home he was in previously but now that he has moved, he seems so much happier. Thank you to all of the staff, I am looking forward to times when I can visit more freely as the environment when I visited was fabulous.

I'm the General Manager for Castle Brook and have been with WCS Care since 2016.

I joined Castle Brook in 2017, with my first and biggest job to date helping to move 32 residents from the old Woodside home in Warwick to Castle Brook, whilst it was redeveloped into the care village it is today.

I'm passionate about supporting carers to make Castle Brook the very best it can be and my mission is to make sure there are no barriers to what care home residents can do, just because they are living in a 'care home'.
