Cherry Wood Grange Care Home

When looking around Cherry Wood Grange in Chelmsford, the staff said they "work in your home," and now that my Uncle lives there, I get what they mean. Before moving in, he was at home and constantly in and out of hospital. Since being there, he has not once needed to go back. His health has improved, he looks a lot better, and he is actually smiling again. It feels like a real community. All the residents look happy and well cared for. There are daily activities and trips out, so people aren't just left sitting alone in their rooms. The care staff are fantastic. All his needs, including medical needs, are met and medication is always on time. He looks well-kept and clean, and so do the other residents. Every member of staff, from catering to cleaners, are outstanding. They listen to him and treat him like a person, not an old man. You can visit whenever you want without restrictions. Family are always made welcome, his privacy is respected, and it is a joy to go there.

I can't explain how happy we are that we chose Cherry wood Grange from the day my father in law arrived in 2025 to now (July 2026) the support he has received has been impeccable, he has completely thrived since being in here. He was so frail when he arrived now he is healthy and so so happy here. He is completely at ease here and loves being here. The staff are not actually like staff, but more like friends + family. I honestly can't thank them all enough.

I am happy with the family atmosphere in the care home. My husband is living his best life considering his health. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to give us both support. I visit my husband 5 days a week so I get a good overall view.

Dad was a resident at Cherry Wood Grange for a little over 14 months. Dad had a great time joining in with many activities with enthusiasm. The staff were always encouraging and supportive and latterly when Dad became very ill the care that Dad received was first class.

Cherry Wood Grange Care Home is excellent, they go above and beyond to care for my dad and he is very happy there.

All staff very welcoming and friendly. Caring staff are kept up to date with mum's needs, current medication and hospital visits.Mum's care is exemplary. Staff are very reassuring and try very hard to stop mum worrying about her situation.

I very much wanted my mother to go into Cherrywood Grange as I had heard such positive things and I am delighted to say I have not been disappointed, Mum joined eight months ago and the care has been excellent from day one, with staff understanding Mum's needs and caring for her so well and with dignity. I have been very impressed with the daily activities programme and the Lifestyle team are the best. The management and admin teams are very friendly, caring and supportive and are always happy to make time for you should you have any concerns.

My friend enjoys the Art class, visiting the cafe Bistro, the hair salon, the garden, the prayer club and the knitting club and has made a good friendship with a fellow resident. I most heartily recommend this home .

All the ladies are lovely and caring and Mum is very comfortable and enjoys going out on the trips.

The staff are all friendly, helpful and kind. I cannot speak too highly about the way my father has been cared for. There is nothing that is too much trouble and during what is a difficult period the care staff have always had time to keep the family informed. I have already recommended the home to a friend who's mum now lives here.

Can not fault any staff or carers. Nursing staff are very caring and loving. Building very clean and warm.

This care home is exceptional, from cleanliness through to care provision. Staff and management are caring and thorough. Atmosphere is always friendly and professional and all residents appear happy and settled.

Cherry Wood Grange is always very clean and the range of food options is extensive. The important thing for me is that mum is well cared for with awareness of her needs and feelings.

The care that Cherry Wood Grange Care Home and all the team have provided for my mum has been outstanding and life changing. I will forever be grateful and sing this care home's praises. My mum was giving up in her previous home and she has come here and been given a second chance at life. Her smile has returned and that's all thanks to this home and the wonderful staff. Thank you.

I am writing this review on behalf of myself and my sisters. Our mum has resided at Cherry Wood Grange Care Home for 5 and a half years, initially on Dementia Floor and more recently on Nursing. Very sadly, she has now died but I really have to compliment the nurses, carers and whole team at Cherry Wood for the exemplary care our mum received. The whole family at Cherry Wood work very hard to provide a loving and caring environment and cared for mum as if she were their own. The team and particularly the highly skilled nurses supported us through the difficult days before mum died, with expertise, care, kindness, practical help and lovely hugs when we needed them. Throughout her years at Cherry Wood, we have felt listened to and supported as mum's condition progressed. Cherry Wood is a great credit to your company.

The warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff were amazing and treated our mum with love respect and dignity with her care. They always had time to talk to us, offer their support to us and the family and listen to our wishes. The staff showed love, affection and dedication supporting us when mum passed away.
