Cherry Wood Grange Care Home provides high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care in beautiful surroundings. The award-winning team is dedicated to making every day meaningful for their residents by delivering personalised, compassionate care.

There is a varied schedule of stimulating activities to suit all interests and abilities; from art lessons, to choir practice, yoga and mindfulness classes, sensory therapies and live music performances. Residents are supported to enjoy regular outings to local places of interest on the minibus and maintain meaningful connections with the local community.

And with soothing lighting and aromatherapy, relaxing hand massages, and sound therapy, residents can experience multi-sensory relaxation as part of a group, or in the comfort of their own bedroom, during regular Namaste Care sessions.

The warm, social and elegant home offers luxurious en-suite bedrooms, a bustling bistro, a private dining room, cinema and beauty salon, all surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. As well as its own affectionate therapy dog, Ralph, which gives Cherry Wood Grange a truly family feel.

My father was living in another care home whilst we waited for a room to become vacant at Cherry Wood Grange. The transition went very smoothly, and he’s been living at Cherry Wood for the past 4-months. His room is on the nursing floor, where he is being looked after exceptionally well. Every member
of staff, from reception to management is kind, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have been amazing to my family in terms of seeking assistance with specialists and funding.
We cannot thank you enough, it’s a relief to see Dad happy and well cared for, which helps us as a family to get a peaceful night's sleep.

My Father has been a resident of Cherry Wood Grange for several months and is being very well cared for. The staff does a great job with activities and days out, he has recently been taken to the seaside, which I know he loved. He's often taken out and this gives him a massive amount of enjoyment. The
food at the home, décor, facilities, and care are all great. We are very happy, and most importantly, so is my Father.

A very dear friend recently came to live at Cherry Wood Grange. I was worried but need not have been. Everyone has made this change so easy for her and her family. On walking in you are always greeted by a friendly, helpful receptionist. The staff are amazing, kind and caring. There is always something
fun going on. The activity ladies are fantastic. The food is fantastic.
I would definitely recommend.

The dementia unit provides care which exudes kindness, patience and personal attention despite the challenges. My relative's impression is that there is lots to do, people are friendly and the food is nice. The team makes every area feel safe; the layout is excellent, which I feel helps residents and
relatives and presumably staff alike. This is a happy place, one that welcomes you into the 'family' already there.

My father arrived at Cherry Wood Grange having come from hospital in the middle of January 2024. On his arrival, he was in a desperately sorry state - so frail, weak, frightened and incredibly tragic. My father has continued to get better and better and so much stronger. His confusion is his life and
inability to walk but we couldn't be any happier with the care, kindness and interaction he is receiving. We feel so blessed he is at Cherry Wood - he is happy and you can see it and so can we - over the moon!!

We can see by the smile on our sister's face that she is well looked after by experienced and caring staff in a spotlessly clean, bright and pleasant room. The whole nursing home is maintained to a very high standard and staff are very welcoming to visitors.

Cherry Wood Grange is unlike any care home I have ever experienced. The manager and her whole team clearly love their jobs and our dad is settling in well and very content, which is a great relief to us all. I cannot recommend the place highly enough - it feels like one big family where nothing is too

Having visited Cherry Wood Grange today I was really impressed with the structure of the building, it is a really lovely design and is kept in pristine condition - I was instantly impressed at the cleanliness and neatness of all aspects, toilets, rooms, reception - everywhere was truly first-class.
The staff are smart and very caring in all, I am of the opinion that Cherry Wood Grange provides a first-class environment for all of those fortunate enough to receive their services.

Our friend has spent 3 years in Cherry Wood Grange and has experienced nothing but kindness, love and wonderful care. Her last month of life was met with an outpouring of love from every staff member. It made our experience of her passing beautiful. We give thanks to all at Cherry Wood Grange.

Cherry Wood Grange is an outstanding care home. It has dedicated staff who do their utmost to improve the quality of life of the vulnerable residents in their care. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly and it is spotlessly clean and homely. Residents are stimulated by a range of activities
and outings which bring them pleasure and fulfilment. My wife's mother spent a very happy year at Cherry Wood and her last days were greatly enhanced by the care and affection shown by the staff.

My dad is very happy at Cherry Wood as is all the family. The care and activities are exceptional. The best thing we ever did was move Dad to Cherry Wood, it is Dad's home now and I feel reassured every time I leave Dad here he is in safe hands.

The staff have been brilliant in supporting Dad since he arrived and making him feel welcome and cared for. The change in him has been great to see; he is happier, more engaged and healthier. I am very happy with my experience here. All of the staff were extremely lovely and welcoming. They all made us feel very at home and wanted to make our visit the best they could. It was lovely seeing the staff react with my grandad and nice knowing he is well taken care of. Very happy.

Sue Smith

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

Our kind and caring home manager Sue has worked in health and social care for almost 30 years and has a wealth of experience in strategic and operational roles. Sue spent much of her career at Runwood Homes, where, as their Regional Care Director, she commissioned and established new homes for the care group.


A natural leader, Sue enjoys leading and supporting her team and strives for excellence in delivering compassionate care.


During her career, Sue has been Regional Care Director for Runwood as well as ran three large care homes for older people, consistently achieving improved Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings. She has also held specialist roles within Operations, Marketing and Customer Care.


Speaking about her role at Cherry Wood Grange, Sue said: “I’m proud to lead our wonderful, skilled and caring team. Our focus is on providing consistent, high-quality, care tailored to individual needs. Nothing makes me happier than seeing our resident’s enjoying life with us and the reassurance that this gives our families.”


When not looking after our treasured residents, Sue enjoys travelling with her husband, having explored much of the UK in their motorhome. She also loves to spend time with her grown-up children and her 9 grandchildren! She likes to relax by gardening, writing poems and practising photography.
